I really like it. It's a simple, radio friendly song, but there is something special about it.

S10's music has always been an exploration of her evolutionary path to mental health.
From the age of 14, S10 was constantly in psychiatric hospitals. Some of the tracks on her debut EP "Antipsychotica" and her second EP "Lithium" began with vocals that she recorded in her bedroom in a mental hospital using only the microphone on her headphones. For example, the song "Positief" talks about the 17 hours she once spent in solitary confinement in one such facility, and the "Lithium" EP was so named because it was a drug she was prescribed to treat her bipolar disorder.
In 2020, the Dutch radio station 3FM released a short documentary about the singer. The filmmakers followed S10 continuously throughout the year as she recorded music, performed live and talked about her path to peace and happiness.
In a separate 2018 interview, she spoke at length about the shortcomings of treatment and social programs in the Netherlands and the costs associated with being in psychiatric institutions. "Children with psychological problems just don't have good help right now," she said.
S10 has been involved in several events and initiatives dedicated to discussing and combating mental illness among the youth of the country, including organizing a concert for children with psychological problems.
The song is a real treasure. She's gorgeous. So far my first place.

Stien is a true inspiration for so many (young) people around the world. She even gave a free concert for young people with mental illnesses to cheer them up during the pandemic. That in itself is already amazing.

I played this to a Dutchman last night and when I told him it’s their entry for Eurovision entry, he was gobsmacked
Songtitle is pronounced "duh DEEP-tuh" and her name "Steen". Basically Bruce Springsteen's last syllable.
This is absolutely my favourite for now. To me, it feels more special than the Italian or Swedish songs in contention, which seem to be high up on the bookmakers' estimations. It would also be a considerable achievement to gain a good place in the ranking with a song in the Dutch language. Bravo to the Netherlands.

Most disappointment comes from Dutch people. Most Dutch people think Eurovision is a contest meant for dance songs instead of a contest for every genre.
As a Dutchman myself, I am not disappointed at all though.
Dutch people are kinda weird when it comes to Eurovision. Lots of Dutch people were also disappointed back in 2019 when Duncan Laurence released his entry. Dutch people only started to hype Arcade up when they heard it was in the top 3 of the bookmakers.

@@qifrey2472 You're right. Whenever a new song is released it's our national sport to hate it. And for some reason we have this weird obsession over our national language that says that any song sung in Dutch is automatically camp or trashy or not to be taken serious.
But tbh those reactions weren't THAT all over the place as other years when this song came out, so I take that as a good thing.

Stien makes beautifull music, ive always loved her. Her first album (Snowsniper) and second album (Vlinders) are my most listened albums ever. She can captivate a feeling into words in such a accurate way. To me her most beautiful song is “handen van mijn moeder” a song about being nostalgic of the feeling of being young and totally trusting your mom for everything and being naive. She came from far, and you can hear and see that.

A lot of people probably allready told you this but I'm gonna tell you anyway hahaha. Her name, S10 works in dutch because we pronounce 10 as "tien" so that will make her name "Stien" which you pronounce like "Steen". De title of the song translates tot "the depth" :) It's a beautiful song, I'm obsessed.

This song isn’t about a relationship it’s about her life and her struggles. She was so deep in a depression that she couldn’t get out of it and the part that says: “ik zit diep en ik wil jou niet laten gaan”, she talks about herself, she doesn’t want to let herself go in this depression. She also said that this song is love letter to her emoties back then. Thank you Stien for this amazing song! I’m still listening to it till this day I’m proud that we came with this entry 🇳🇱❤️

Just want to say that the lyrics of last year's song didn't have 'Broccoli' in it, it's a song featuring the Srnan Tongo language and it's "Yu no man broko mi" which means "You can't break me" and I believe it's a protest song in the vain of Black Lives Matter to bring attention to colonialism in Suriname and how many people from Suriname have been treated like 'lesser than' in the Netherlands.
It was also the first time in the ESC that Srnan Tongo was featured.
