Joe, I'm actually embarrassed to admit this, but it's literally just dawned on me that I haven't played online on my PS4 for like 3 years and I STILL pay for ps+. I'm a dickhead and that's the end of it. Ps+ cancelled today.
the reason why i would always back expansions and good value dlc over microtransactions: + it adds additional gameplay, enlarging the overall game experience + having absolutely no negative impact to others even getting more quality content in the future + doesn't screw over the balance of the game and is completely OPTIONAL + customers feel a sense of value with their purchase even years later + a single game doesn't get overstuffed with content and doesn't give customers the feeling of catching up + social pressure has less effect with dlc than microtransactions skins and items like in fortnite + games with dlc as a business model has normally a cap not higher or less than 30/60 bucks microtransactions: - risk of impacting the game even further with grind tactics in future or current games if you buy some - looking good or getting rewarded with skins and other items is practically behind a paywall now - overstuffed ingame stores with skins and boosters - developers need to put in longer (crunch) hours on the same game under the name 'game as a service' because of microtransactions, causing burn outs. - less innovation in future games because they already make milions on the same gameplay loop because of microtransactions - complexity turns into simplicity in games so that publishers reach a wider audience meaning more cash - games as a service - corrupting gamers with the "it's necessary because games are to expensive" speech while ignoring that publishers still make more revenue selling dlc or the game itself. - workers not seeing a penny of this ridiculous wealth and publishers not paying a single penny of that microtransaction money in tax. - money goes to innovations in gambling mechanics, RPG mechanical tricks for children and adults to spend more money instead of going to new features and innovation. love or hate my opinion, even call me a millennial but i remember a time not so long ago when i bought my game. I got something bursting with creativity, innovation, value, quality over quantity with good dlc and at least a finished product with some less hard drive intensive patch updates. that for only 60 bucks or less with an OPTIONAL season pass of around 30 or 40 bucks. fight for good gaming people.

It's pretty awesome seeing Joe advocating and defending the gaming community to his local news station in regards to video games being the source cause of violence. It really does frustrate me on how so many individuals are not educated in this manner and for someone like Joe, who is passionate and really dedicates himself to video games, like the rest of us, he has truly earned my respect and I commend him for speaking up!
Absolutely Awesome We play exactly the same violent games in my country, which has also fought terrorism for decades. Even so, for example, the amount of mass shootings we’ve had in the more than a hundred years since the state was founded? None. Nil. Zero. Whatever the issues are over violence in America, gaming isn’t part of it. Otherwise, all of the rest of us would be similarly violent countries and people - but we’re not.
Absolutely Awesome: Blaming THINGS and not people seems to be a favorite of politicians. Oh, mass gun violence is now commonplace? Blame ownership of firearms and violent video games! They pulled the same crap in the 90’s with Mortal Kombat. Nothing new under the sun. People don’t want to look at the real problems, like how depression and suicide are at an all time high in the USA. But yeah, just blame THINGS when it’s a people problem.
Bro what the fuck? This is disgusting. Do you realise that your cheering for countless people losing their jobs and most possibly their livelihood? Let me tell a story about video game violence and my mother. My mom was one of those moms that did not care what game or movie I saw. My mom could not care less about video games, she has zero interest in such things. But when I was playing GTA3 my mom actually would watch just a few seconds of me playing, she even talk to me and said, "Chris, you do know the difference between real life and a video game?" I was like, "Yes mom I would never do the things in a game and replicate it in real life. I am not dumb, I know this is a game, and it just for fun". My mom felt some relief that day, tho I know she did not have anything to worry about. GTA vice city comes out. I beg my mom to get this game (im about 16 at the time) she buys me the game. While playing one day my mom decided to watch me play for just a second my new game. I was sitting in a nice car just parked by the curb when I had no idea that a NPC can jack you for the car. I got jacked and instantly sprung into action to get my car back. I was like Oh hell no motherfucker, (yes i can curse in my house my mom did not care lol) As i pulled the guy out my car I proceeded to bash the persons face in with my baseball bat over and over saying fuck you bitch this is what you get. My mom laughed hysterically and said you're so bad Chris, and i began to laugh too. When you give your kids freedom to make their own choices but you poke in just enough to let them know hey games are fake but what you do in reality is for real and you can't take that back. You can still be a cool parent and let your kid make their own decisions. But if you drill shit in there head and say this is bad this is good, how the fuck is your kid suppose to make up their mind for themselves.

They went from having a $40 price point in the handheld Era to $60, a $30 DLC expansion, plus the subscription for Home (up to $16/yr) and Bank ($5/yr) in the console Era. Home Premium costs almost as much as an annual Nintendo Switch Online subscription!
This is EA levels of price gouging.
@@TheHikariOne you said it well sir. 10 yrs ago we would have thought it impossible to be so greedy. Uhh, we were mistaken and wrong. It sucks ding dongs for sure.
@@TheHikariOne you know what bothers me. I spoke with some Pokemon fans at work. Their response was "At least we don't have to buy another game at full price."

@@QuestionYourWorld When you're the most valuable franchise on the planet (by around $9B), you can get away with a lot, apparently.
Not my words, but another user mentioned that brand loyalty is likely the only reason Pokemon and Game Freak get away with this junk. Imagine the blood on the streets if Capcom or Atlus came up with a pay model like this for Monster Hunter or some future Persona title -- people would riot.

@UNPLISHED
Yeah lol, I need to take that one on the chin sadly. IL help myself to an "L" on the way out ha ha
the reason why i would always back expansions and good value dlc over microtransactions:
+ it adds additional gameplay, enlarging the overall game experience
+ having absolutely no negative impact to others even getting more quality content in the future
+ doesn't screw over the balance of the game and is completely OPTIONAL
+ customers feel a sense of value with their purchase even years later
+ a single game doesn't get overstuffed with content and doesn't give customers the feeling of catching up
+ social pressure has less effect with dlc than microtransactions skins and items like in fortnite
+ games with dlc as a business model has normally a cap not higher or less than 30/60 bucks
microtransactions:
- risk of impacting the game even further with grind tactics in future or current games if you buy some
- looking good or getting rewarded with skins and other items is practically behind a paywall now
- overstuffed ingame stores with skins and boosters
- developers need to put in longer (crunch) hours on the same game under the name 'game as a service' because of microtransactions, causing burn outs.
- less innovation in future games because they already make milions on the same gameplay loop because of microtransactions
- complexity turns into simplicity in games so that publishers reach a wider audience meaning more cash
- games as a service
- corrupting gamers with the "it's necessary because games are to expensive" speech while ignoring that publishers still make more revenue selling dlc or the game itself.

The facts are that blaming video games distracts from the broader issues at hand as a means to give the typical non-gamer a reason to why certain events are happening.

To me he looks like a father who found his only son is attracted to his male friends.
Am I the only one confused on what a reefer is?
It's called the devil's lettuce.
Alternative Title: The Bethesda Memorial awards
Lmaoooo
not like they were good developer/publisher to begin with, their games always ship with issues, only reason it got pass is that at lease story or game play were good, but personally people should of been saying things from day one, other companies get flak shipping buggy game, but not Bethesda? its same bullshit with Nintendo and Pokemon, stop letting this shit slide fuck
"I'm still going to buy one of these games."
Wow. That is truly why Pokemon gets away with that they are getting away with.
It's still a good game despite the bull shit that comes with it.
Pokemon games have the same problem that sports games have. Spruce up the graphics. Update the roster. Sell the same game with one or two "new" features.
@@darksteel78 to be fair With pokemon the new games are actually new games. A new region, new characters, new pokemon, a few new features and new story to go through.
@@jackfudo0 The problem is that now they are 20 bucks more expensive, but that doesn't show anywhere
Fingers crossed that Temtem takes over
Definitely see that Joe has love for the channel again loving the 2020 content so far
About politicians and their broken record- - game violence:
I am 500 and 50 years old, and I am only mildly senile; so I can tell you wholeheartedly that back in my days we had 0 violence movies and games, and so there was absolutely NO violence back in the middle ages, and even if (hypothetically) we wanted to rough up, we had no guns, and so there was nothing left to do, but to listen to Beatles albums and drink Chai tea . So ya! Trump is right, he is 100 percent right, eliminate violent games, and we will have a perfectly hippie utopian life. Also put more slot machines in our games; that will keep the kids off the streets. Rated E for everyone.
Holy shit I didn’t know Joe made the news that’s badass. Awesome to see Joe defending games on another massive platform
No one watches tv anymore, boomer
@Danny Dolan Dont mean to be a little bitch but tv is no massive platform. especially local tv. 3 paralyzed grandmas watched it maybe.
Time stamp?
Who cares? He has his own news show now.

Picard: "Q was right all along... we shouldn't be allowed to exist."
*Q:* "Jokes on them, I am letting them live! Now who is the smart one. hahahahahah" :D
Is this the kind of trash that Picard is spouting in the new show? Seems like he became his older brother after all.
Loving the use of Jim Sterling clips. AJ and Jim the best two content creators on UA-cam for my money.
The Number 14 is actually quite ironic.. Sony buying exclusivity and defending it, but then making an uproar when Microsoft wants to buy Activision..
Dang. I feel really proud of Joe during that newscast.
I love how confused everyone on the enterprise was during Randys bigot song
that song made no sense, so does everone like bigots when they crying or dont?
I love it when men embarrass themselves playing the Feminist schtick. Feminism is already cancer when women do it, but when men do it the blatant attempt at getting pussy / approval through fake empathy is really damn obvious. Virtue Signalling pussies everywhere. Never was pussy this cheap!
Randy is one of those weird guys who never should of got lucky enough to strike it rich. Borderlands was a miracle and Gearbox is a one-trick pony with it. Every other game they've made has been actual garbage.
Alien Colonial Marines? Duke Nukem Forever? Motherfucking Battleborn?
They'll be milking Borderlands to their dying breath because it's the only good thing they got and they still manage to screw up parts of it. Well, we get that, and Randy virtue-signaling and making a fool of himself because he has fuck-you money now.
@@tibarion
Gotta be careful, though. Fuck You money is easily lost if not accounted for and spent / invested wisely. Even in the millions. We all know the stories of people who went broke over frivolous spending.
@@Mayhzon Feminism is cancer? I think we've found the incel, everyone. Please don't shoot up a public place. We've had enough of those in America already.

I legit wrote a paper on how video games do not cause violence. Had a lot of fun ranting over these 15 pages and got a pretty good grade. Win-win.
I laughed so hard at the Star Trek bit that my daughter came in to check on me. This video is a riot.
MelMars500 yeah I was really pleased to see him use several of Layman Gaming clips. I follow them also and not only do they have the best memes but are also informative.
Blizzard in US: "We hire and support womens and gays we so progressive!"
Blizzard in China: "Good job police. Give them more pepper spray!"
wow the infamous paper cut inducing paper spray
Josip Stalin Death by a thousand paper cuts is no joke
Death by a thousand paper cuts sounds like something out of an anime.
capitalism is one hell of a greed breeding machine
@@rohamcsigusz nah, capitalism is fine. Like all things it have to be regulated. But it takes out of poverty 300k people daily. Problem arise when due capitalism success, worthless people like you survive when in earlier years would die off in the winter due to your uselessness and incompetence, and then you open your entitled waste of skin mouth and demand from hardworking, better and usefull people more gibs that you are not capable of earning yourself because you feel that you deserve something.
Dang, Jim Sterling was on point with a lot of these.
Cody Davies he’s been on point for years chief, glad to see him getting the cred he has deserved for a while
Thank God for Jim

Ha! Fat chance.
19:47 I can't believe we're still having this debate after nearly 30 years. You'd think that by now, it would have had the credibility of claims about backwards subliminal messages on rock records.
Man, they did it with books, they did it with cinema, they did it with music. They will only stop doing it with videogames when there will be a new target.
@@MadAtreides1 VR, probably.
You are "debating" with people whose ancestors used to kill innocent women for "witchcraft". It doesn't surprise me AT ALL that they are blaming video games for "possessing" their homicidal maniacs that they've bred with gun and Bible.
They always gotta have a scapegoat and people still fall for it. It's ridiculously
Ghola Tleilaxu Kinda hypocritical to blame guns and biblical references for mass shootings. A manic is born from neglect or from a traumatic experience. A gun is simply means to an end. If a killer wanted someone dead, they’d find something to kill with. Quit blaming guns and religion. Fighting fire with fire never works out.
Haha, when Joe walked up I was like..ok..it's coming..it's coming
"You done f.."
Yeap, there he go..
u don't have to see his face to know he was going to say it, just watching him walk screamed that he would say it

first controversy for 2020: rocket league being bought by epic and immediately dropping mac and linux support
They were bought back in May of 2019 though, not exactly immediately
Its okay. Take solace in the fact that epic lost money on their exclusives.
Total respect for number 9, Joe. Here in brazil we had the same, stupid media and politicians saying that videogames causes violence. And always are a bunch of ignorant people saying that with no knowledge about the theme.
Man, I still remember when it was the Top Gaming Controversies in 2014. I feel like that video actually opened my eyes to the issues within the gaming community, since that year was the start of Gamergate and swatting. Unfortunately it seems the effects of both can be felt to this day.
It is a sad year when you can make a top 10 Bethesda controversies of 2019 video
I was honestly expecting them all to be Fallout 76.
Fingers crossed that it gets its own list.
I was expecting Sekiro being "too hard" to be on the list
Nah that'll be top 76 controversies of 2019
Honestly, I was expecting that to be the reason why an extra 5 were thrown in on top of the usual 10...
Sadly, it could be the whole list!
