- Well the ship was almost plain sailing, but the border control not so much! Join us this week as we eventually make it through the paperwork and all official checks and finally arrive in Morocco!
The officials at Morocco’s border were very polite and very thorough. They do a fantastic job, we’ve just not experienced such attention to detail and full on searches on crossing borders previously.

Hey Steve, I was searching for 'Morocco' on UA-cam after the Moroccan women's football team qualified for the knockout stage, and I stumbled upon your channel. This is my first time seeing you, and I must say, you bear a striking resemblance to Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation! Just thought I'd share this fun observation. Keep up the great content!
⚽️⚽️⚽️🤣🤣🤣
That is true. He does look like him.
Hhhh soo true OMG
and I was wondering this guy (Steve) looks like someone I know there you go fouzi lekjaa 😁
Kinda true haha
Welcome to Morocco!
I hope you will have a wonderful time exploring this incredible country.
A tip, don't have expectations; just go with the flow. Yes it will be overwhelming and sometimes chaotic but absolutely mesmerising in the end.
I' ll be watching you!
We are loving every moment!!!
Lovely to see your first experiences of Morocco. Take me back! Our vehicles were x-rayed at Tanger Med (both ways) mad also had a lot of questions. All worth it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip. You have so much fun ahead of you!
Ohhh wow! Thank you x
Looking forward to the vids you got coming up!
Thanks Adz
Here is a Moroccan subscriber 🇲🇦👋🏻 welcome to your second home 😊
Welcome along!
Yes, you have a moroccan subscriber, welcom to Morocco :)
Great to find your channel, I love Morocco 🇲🇦 ❤ I guess "We're the Millers" has a lot to answer for 😂
Safe travels 🙏
🤣🤣🤣
Looking forward to seeing the rest of you vlogs from Morocco. We've been twice in our motorhome to Morocco and very much enjoyed it. The people are so friendly and helpful. Speaking a little French is always helpful. Like you we went to Ceuta to cross over the border, the last time being about 5 years ago. I don't understand why British insurance is so difficult to arrange these days, but times change. You will come across police checkpoints every few miles but always wave Brit registered vehicles through. A month isn't too bad for seeing many of the sights. I would recommend the souk at Fez and also Marrakesh and 2e travelled down to the edge of the Sahara desert. When visiting towns to park up look out for unofficial guardians in high viz jackets who will help you park and look after your vehicle. It used to cost around 50pence. Couscous is avaliable in most restaurants usually in the form of a tagine. Lamb and chicken are widely available. Supermarkets are in most large towns but there are lots of small shops in every village, some don't have lights on and may look closed but if the shutters are open, so is the shop. Camp sites are getting better but not up to European standards yet. We found occasionally the fridge didn't work on electricity because of low voltage and we had to revert to gas. We couldn't refill Gaslow bottles but gas was cheap enough even including a deposit on the bottle. Anyway I'm sure you will have a fantastic time. You may come across motorhome tour groups with up to ten or a dozen motorhomes travelling in convoy who will co e into camp sites at the end of the day. They come from various countries including Holland, France and Germany. Enjoy your stay.
Thank you so much for all this info!!! Very helpful x
I’m really enjoying your videos. I drove through Tangiers from Spain a few years ago and as my log book said Mike McGurk and My passport said Michael McGurk I had the same grief you did. I’m ticking off the campsites your staying at for future reference, I’ve a roof top tent we had a great time in Spain but have only camped in Tangiers and Asilah. Kenetra and Mohammadia are on my list now. Keep them coming.
Thank you so much x
Cracking vlog guys, great seeing less traveled parts of the world. Stay safe look forward to more vlogs of this trip!
Thank you!
Steve, thank you so very much for mentioning my video of the thetford cassette and Channel, now it all makes sense! i had an influx of subscribers and couldn't for the life of me work out why. Having been tucked away editing the recent video i am only just catching up on missed episodes. So glad it helped and thank you for sharing. really appreciated. Rob
Your very Welcome Rob, and I enjoyed your Safe-fill gas bottle video this morning. One thing you didn’t mention is that if you are taking your caravan or motorhome abroad it’s recommended to have a refillable gas bottle as you can’t swap a Calor Gas bottle in Europe and LPG is available everywhere out there.
@@RoamingRadfords thankyou. It’s a very good point Steve a couple of comments have made light of the European situation. I haven’t had the chance to cross the border but it’s booked for next summer south of France so I’m sure I’ll learn all about it then. Ha
That football pitch is a lovely hidden treasure I say. 👌⚽️🥅
It certainly made Harry’s day!
I see many travel channels like Eamon & Bec, World Towning and many more and I can say you are my next favorite travel family..
Welcome to Morocco guys have fun )))
From London
Thank you x
That is normal enough for the Ceuta Morocco land border. You summed it up very well. I had a similar experience. I got interrogated as if I was a bank robber. What had I done I was asked. This went on for a while then ok and allowed to proceed.
It looks like you headed straight for the land border after the ferry. Sadly you missed having a look round Ceuta. A real jewel. Worth at least an overnight stay and a look around I would say.
Enjoy Morocco.
Used to use that crossing point. It’s coming the other way, thats exciting. Have a great tour, the Chinese have improved the roads now. Honestly, they have 😊
Heading to Morocco this next week. Thanks for sharing
Our pleasure x
they're doing their job as they should, hope you have an enjoyable trip nonetheless
Absolutely. It was a very interesting contrast to what we’ve experienced in the past
Great to see you arrived north africa without much drama ..border security guys there doing thier job is reasuring on the check points ..great to see your not stressed too much with the issue of exchange of currency
Thanks!
We camped in Morocco in the 70's when I was a kid, I can still remember their hot custard donuts to this day. A kid about 10 or 11 guided us around all the markets etc in Rabat, all day, and absolutely refused to take any money at the end of it. In the end after much persuasion he said he would take a packet of my dads cigs :)
What a great memory!!!
How lovely experience!
Wow looks fab and glad all going well. Can’t wait for more content😊
Thank you x
Really enjoying your holiday, but a little nervous when you come to a check point,, i think your very brave, a d appreciate all the vlogs, thank you for sharing. Take care. 😘💚
Thank you so much Emma x
Brilliant video, love Morocco
Africa is going through 35 wars/heavy conflicts at the moment. Especially Egypt Ethiopia and Sudan are Rising in war. Lots of security checks every country.
Thank you, but 😞😞😞
No you're wrong it has nothing to do with that . Morocco hqs been always strict regarding the traffic between the colonised Moroccan Ceuta and the Moroccan border .. if they came through Tanger thing were going to be easier..
@@ayoubelaouili2158agree after Islam colonised Spain with the otterman Empire.
I was brought up in Rhodesia. Africans are always fighting. Especially islamic countries. It's part of Thier culture 😞
@@epcode5121 part of our culture ! Thank so much Don!
Hi Steve I can’t wait for your next video ❤️
Thank you
Your nature is similar to Moroccans nature.. We are proud of you ❤
Wow that is a huge compliment x
From Morocco but living in the north yourkshir, hope you will have a nice time
We are loving your home country!
Very strict visiting Morocco...shame the same does not apply to the UK !!
It’s certainly a good deterrent!
Its only strict with the van especially that the border of ceuta morocco is known for smugling drugs and european/moroccan products to escape customs from both sides.
The van is a normal alert to the customs .
I take it you haven’t visited the U.K. recently so you’re not talking from experience. You really should get some education.

You are in good hands in morocco, just a little patience will go along way. Focus on the positive, enjoy and eat a good tajine.
We are loving it here!
Welcome to Morocco

Another great video. Enjoy the hols
Thank you xx
Looks fab, this is great info for our planned trip this winter. They asked about a drone, wonder what they would have done if you had one?
Confiscated it.
No doubts
@@RoamingRadfords Interesting, they had drone footage on the Bailey Sahara challenge, wonder how they managed that? looking forward to your next instalment
They hired a professional drone operator in Morocco and they said it was expensive
Kinda jealous(in a good way😂) looks fabulous... Be mindful and have a great trip.. Can't wait till your next enthralling episode❤
Ahh thank you x
Look forward to seeing more, interesting entering Morroco, NZ is very strict with many items 👍
I’ve heard that about NZ
@@RoamingRadfords as long as the rules are followed then there’s no problem and it’s very easy to get through.. the problems start when people don’t tick yes to a question when they know they are bringing something in, every time I travel I usually have meds so always tick drugs, that usually ends up being an interesting conversation 🤣
I am a Moroccan who lives in London and I would like to get to know you guys.
I am from Saidia Beach in in the East part of Morocco .
Thank you x
Great video my heart sunk when you were pulled over it seems like to be very strict on entering Morocco. A great video keep it up.
Thanks Simon x
Always learn something from your vids ! Interested in starlink .....can you give a bit more information on the system - is it a fixed install and costs ? We are heading for Morocco next month .
Thank you. You’ll find more information about it on the Starlink website. There are several options in costs of hardware and service all available on there:

They don’t do this search for all vehicles, it will only happy when they have information about suspect entering something illegal and perhaps the description was a large car, so what will happen that day is any large vehicles which meet the description will be suspect.
It’s just bad luck, if you passed through in different day it would been different.
We’ve heard so many different stories! It all adds to the adventure!
❤ Marhaba welcome
Thank you x
Make sure your doing your limbering exercises. It will be touch your toes time returning back into the UK from Morocco 😰🙈👍
🧘🏼♀️
Prefer Tangier Med, much easier to get through both ways the times we have done it on motorbikes.
Good tip for others!
So many places to go to in Morocco
Soooo many x
Welcome to Morocco, you got me hooked, please try to upload videos daily if you can 😅 Good luck
Daily us too much for us! But twice a week we can commit to x
Sounds ok , we were asked for "lunch for the captain" cost us 400 MAD after going into the other enclave , doing a shop and sending a legal document home, then re entering Morocco. Oh and the blasted kerbs were so high it scratched the hab door step. On the whole though Morocco was a great experience.
We are loving Morocco so far!!
MRHABA TAJINE KOUSKOUS OKE 👍👍👍🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸
Yummy!
I have been to Morocco several times for my work in the film industry, the customs are something else my record is just short of three days ! I was driving a seven and half ton truck full of special effects equipment which included a lot of different type of pyrotechnics charges al well as an amount of explosives which where all in special metal containers for travel , you can guess why it took them so long to eventually let me in . Watch your speed even a kilometre over the limit and it will incur a on the spot fine which can be very expensive depending on the mood of the police officer. But saying that it is an amazing place to drive through and the people are very hospitable and helpful . Enjoy you trip can’t wait for the next video.
Yikes!!!
Good evening nice to meet you welcome 🇲🇦 in Kingdom of morocco thé peuples from UK unryrd konkkfomgteay Bretagne
Had you gone through the Tangier Med Port, you wouldn't have had all this drama.
It's 2023, and I have no idea why people still go to Ceuta when Morocco is their destination!
But this way we can see Tangier AND Ceuta, if we want.
Dude just pop to me in u tube, enjoy your holliday in morocco well i am moroccan but watching you from sunny eastbourne east sussex .
Welcome along!!!
@RoamingRadfords thanks mate you take be along way have not been to casablanca for nearly 4 years thanks to covide see you on there 👍 make me chilled enjoyed your holiday .
Sometimes the checkpoint people get bored and I reckon they take the piss and go have a laugh with there mates later,
They be like did you see his face, I really had them shitting themselves.
🤣🤣
We need border force like that 😃 Hope they let you out 😮 Trev
🤣🤣🤣
Youv just got one more Moroccan folower from USA 😊
it's not an enclave or exclave, it's a colonised city that has yet to be liberated
I’d stop you with that pink t shert on man 😂💯💯
🤦🏼♀️🤣
When will you be visiting Chefchaouen?
Towards the end of the trip x
Lyndsay. Is so gorgeous xx
Thanks Nick!
Next time visiting Morocco use tanger med cause Ceuta and mellila known for smuggling that's why they check everything out so no one can smuggle products to Morocco because they used to do that years.
Makes sense!!
The music sounds ominous as you go through the checkpoint, I’m waiting for the guns to come out
Ohhh they were there! We were just too nervous to film them!
Need to be careful with a motor home in Morocco or just traveling around there in general.. Need to do research about scams and thieving. Take care of the kids too.
So far so good!
Sterling is a nice name for Adrian Flux 🤔
Either way, they covered our insurance !

Tangiers is better to go to than Ceuta even though l see that they have done it up.
Police controls always entering towns.Roads so much better than 20 years ago!
We’ve learned that lesson!
the only mistake you did is going through ceuta which isn't the best option , next time better arrive in tangier med port
We took our motorbike second time we went to Morocco and what a problem with the customs, going in and coming out. Good luck.
Thank you x

😍😍
Do you get health/ medical insurance when you travel to other countries?
Always!
No drones allowed?
Nope!!! Highly illegal!
Have a great time
Thanks bud 👍
There are lots of Police check points and they usually want to make sure your documents are correct. Watch out for police under trees with radar guns especially, approaching urban areas. Some Police just pull you for a friendly chat.
We’ve seen lots, but been waved through every single time!
@@RoamingRadfords usually the locals are pulled, I had a group of 25 motorcycles on a tour and in three weeks, only two guys got stopped, to check they had the temporary import QR code card and the policeman wanted to look at their motorcycles 😁
A general comment not aimed at you- Well done to the Moroccan officers doing their job. They are paid to protect Morocco.
Morocco doesn’t have cc cameras everywhere. That is why they rely mainly on humans and animals.
This is why Morocco is one of the safest countries in Africa. Europeans need to leave their haughty manners when they visit other countries.
In the UK, there are so many CC cameras filming people everyday. Less intrusive but they are doing the same job.
good viod on the travels thanks lee

Love this video. I have always wanted to go to Morocco, but I have heard horror stories. You are making it seem so much better than I some of the stories you hear online. One tip I was advised was to only fill up in the major fuel suppliers as they are maintained.. Some of the smaller independent garages do not maintain their facilities and people have found water in the diesel.
From a Moroccan and with a totally unbiased opinion, Morocco might be even safer than where you live brother, come check it for yourself and you might go back with an experience that you won't forget for the rest of your lifetime
We’ve had no problems so far!! We love Morocco and all the Moroccans we have met so far!

Quick question. Excuse my lack of tech expertise. When Starlink said you were not in a country you paid for, could you not use your VPN to make it think you were? Loving all this BTW.
No I’m afraid being a bespoke satellite system it knows where you are in the world and there’s not even Surfshark can spook it otherwise
Safe travels, enjoyed that video. ❤

Regarding the check points, it does not mean Morocco is a police state. It is only to keep the country safe. there is no gun traffic in Morocco, probably the top 3 in the world with no guns.
It’s wonderful, we feel very safe here.
