These were the first steam locomotives I had ever seen in person, when I was 6. Before that I had only seen them on TV, and I wasn't sure if they really existed.
I've actually worked with the old farm stream engines, and the machines those big belts drive. So much fun.
That's awesome!
Wonderful vacation! Great memories.
Excellent video again! I'm headed up north to my camp on Caucomgomoc lake right now. Watching the video while I fill up in millinocket.
Awesome! Have fun!
Awesome! I love seeing things like this.a good historical reminder to visit.
Great to see. It's amazing at what people years ago, tried to do, just to make a living. They were very determined, Hardy folks back then, just to carve out a Living, with an Honest job, for their families. Charleen just got a little over worked, from all of the excitement, of your families Discovery. Thanks
She was tuckered, lol. It is amazing to think about for sure. Now a days kids are astonished at the thought of mowing peoples' lawns to earn money (with gas powered mowers at that!) instead they all want to start "go fund me" accounts. 🙄
I'd love to see that! Steam engines and trains are awesome! Takes me back to the '70's and '80's when I was growing up. We had town "lawn parties" back then. It was like a small county fair. There was one in Bridgewater, VA featured steam engines. Ah...
Those were the days! And fabulous fried chicken!!!
Awesome! I love fried chicken.🙂
@@MaineGirlOutdoors Funny how things that you ate when you were a kid tasted so awesome. My wife and I still enjoy Craft Mac-n-Cheese out of the box. Our son, who's almost 20 now, tells us we eat cheap crap! Nooooo! He doesn't understand.
On my bucket list. Thanks!
I want to go there this summer!
I still havent made it up there yet. Thank you so much for taking us along. Looked like a great time to spend with the family.
Thanks for watching ❤️.
Wow what a coincidence. A co worker was just telling me about the ghost trains up there. His wife and him did a motorcycle trip up and around that area.
That's cool!
Great family outing! What cute kids!
Like Northern Maine, Northern Minni-soda has a long history of logging, but there is no abandoned equipment left in the woods that I know of, or at least there’s no steam engines. When they were finished with them and the logs were gone, they hauled them onto the frozen lakes and let them sink. There’s at least one lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and another in Voyageurs National Park that are filled with iron machinery rusting away. I talked to a scuba diver onshore who was very carefully exploring the wreaks, but the water is so stained he could barely see.
I didn't know that, that's cool!
awsome video.
Nice video Your camera is amazing 👌
Thank you. I used the GoPro hero 8 black for this one.
Very cool! I have seen other videos of this place. I want to visit there myself someday.
It's awesome! ❤️
Nice video!! Looks different in the summer, I have some video of us there on sleds but I forgot to blow the train whistle like your son, pretty cool!!
