Exactly how I wash my pads.
Then I spin them out on my polisher.
Sometimes I use a citrus degreaser to break down a really dirty pad.
    Great video .

Thank you Scott! I'm adding polishing to my new business. I was going crazy figuring how to maintain my pads. I'm like pads are so expensive. This saves money and assures better results on the job. You're much appreciated. I can always depend on your tutorials

You read my mind I washed all of my pads it's the same way. The microfiber pads that I use for the compound washes out right away I only use the soap to get the little bit of residue. Those Griot's Garage pads wash like a dream. I love them so much. Thank you for not making it rocket science to wash a pad. Thats all you have to do and let them air dry overnight.

I'm a newbie to polishing and waxing my boat. I finished a day of compounding and waxing and was wondering if I could clean these pads. I watched other videos which seemed too complicated or expensive. Using your method, I now have clean reusable pads and it only took me a few minutes to do all three including the wool cutting pad. Thank you so much for sharing this simple, gentle and effective method. I'll go watch your other videos now.

This is by far the best way to clean pads. Not only doses it clean the pads thoroughly, it actually makes the bad a bit more flexible. I’ve washed my pads like this and gotten a ton of use out of one pad.

Great info Scott! Tip I found, after you are done with the cleaning, switch to cold water to rinse the soap out of the pad faster. Cold water cuts soap quicker than hot.

This is how I always wash my pads, however, I found it's easier to rinse them with a bucket of clean water or the other side of the sink (plugged and filled with clean water). You hold the palmolive-saturdated pad under the clean water and squeeze it several times and it rinses much faster this way instead of having running water hitting it. Just my experience.

I'm very new to detailing and I just work on my cars and my kids cars. I use Griots exclusively. How your washing your pads is exactly how I clean mine only I've been using Dawn. And yes sir it takes longer for the soap to dissipate. I'll try palmolive. I thank you for letting me know I'm doing it correctly. Aloha

I gotta say, I was a little skeptical considering what all is offered out there as a "professional cleaner/cleaning system", but this seems to work amazingly. I used Dawn instead of Palmolive, because that's what I already had at home, and it was a HUGE difference. I'll know the final result tomorrow once they're dry, but all looks good so far.
