Man I really appreciate your videos. You have a very simple, realistic approach to work. It makes me feel like we're a team and your just being a great guy and helping me out! Thanks so much!!
I have learned sooo much from Scott just in the last few months. I have always been a gear head, but always been terrible at keeping my cars and trucks tip top. Keep the good content coming.
Scott that wasn’t boring. Very informative and way less complicated than other videos posted by companies trying to flog their wares. Great info for me as a beginner paint corrector. Thanks.
Exactly how I wash my pads.
Then I spin them out on my polisher.
Sometimes I use a citrus degreaser to break down a really dirty pad.
Great video .
Thank you Scott! I'm adding polishing to my new business. I was going crazy figuring how to maintain my pads. I'm like pads are so expensive. This saves money and assures better results on the job. You're much appreciated. I can always depend on your tutorials
You read my mind I washed all of my pads it's the same way. The microfiber pads that I use for the compound washes out right away I only use the soap to get the little bit of residue. Those Griot's Garage pads wash like a dream. I love them so much. Thank you for not making it rocket science to wash a pad. Thats all you have to do and let them air dry overnight.
Thanks. This restored a few older pads I had from when I buffed my car a few years ago and never properly cleaned them. They look almost as good as new now
Thanks Scott for all of your informative video’s! I’m a professional detailer myself and you always impart knowledge! Thanks!🐟
Great info as usual Scott. I really appreciate your knowledge and experience in helping us be better at maintaining our vehicles. Cheers from Ottawa Canada.
I'm a newbie to polishing and waxing my boat. I finished a day of compounding and waxing and was wondering if I could clean these pads. I watched other videos which seemed too complicated or expensive. Using your method, I now have clean reusable pads and it only took me a few minutes to do all three including the wool cutting pad. Thank you so much for sharing this simple, gentle and effective method. I'll go watch your other videos now.
brilliant, after watching this video I tried it myself, and mate its the best way ever. I will never go back to my old method, cheers and a big thank you from the UK
Love your videos! You do a great job of explaining things and dumbing it down for the beginner keep up the good work.
Thanks Scott. Your pad cleaning tips work great for a rookie buffer like me. I appreciate the help
This is by far the best way to clean pads. Not only doses it clean the pads thoroughly, it actually makes the bad a bit more flexible. I’ve washed my pads like this and gotten a ton of use out of one pad.
Great info Scott! Tip I found, after you are done with the cleaning, switch to cold water to rinse the soap out of the pad faster. Cold water cuts soap quicker than hot.
Ive been waiting for a video explaining the cleaning process... so your timing is perfect and you answered all my questions!
Another informative video, welcome back Scott!
Thank you for showing me and not trying to sell products. Respect ✊🏼
Just finished polishing and waxing a customers vehicles was about to wash my pads and this popped up how funny. Pretty much how I did it besides the warm water! Thanks Scott!
great advice! I'm just getting into doing real polishing on my cars. good advice to use a clean pad for each panel. and this is a good method to keep them clean. I'll have to order some more pads and do it right.
I was just about to restock my pads since I ruined my old ones by sticking them in the washer on hot. Thanks Scott. Now I know how to wash them. You have the common sense that I lack.
Grabbed a Griot G9 last week as a newbie to polish I appreciate your insight.
'I get this stuff from the dollar store for ....a dollar' - my fav quote of yours! Just teasing - thanks for all the helpful vids and keep it up!
😆
Yeah that definitely blew me away 🤯
Cleaned my first pad and it worked great. Thank you!

Very similar to the way I clean mine! Great video Scott!
Thanks man, this helps so much. Washing the pads is one of my least favorite chores. This method makes it seem a bit more exciting :D
If that’s in anyway a bit exciting, you gotta add a little more spice to your life pal.
I wasn't bored by your video! I was captivated! Great job! Thanks for sharing your talents!
A bit of unnecessary chit chat at the beginning but not boring.
Good video its the little details that go a long ways on protecting and maintaing your equipment
Thank you! Useful & Informative.
Also... Nice counters/sink Scott.
Not boring - great helpful tip . Thanks
I'm the 100k subscriber! Nice work Scott and congrats on your UA-cam success. Great videos!
Per usual, your info is awesome and useful.
Very informative. Thank you so much!!!
Great information from the pro i learned something free that is valuable for me thank you love this video's
That method works great, much easier inside the house than sitting out in heat on the driveway. Love your style Scott.
great was thinking about this
more soapy goodness and dont over think it
thanks love it
Again thank you for sharing your knowledge !!!!
Thanks for the tip simple cheap and effective.
Good info, you saved me unnecessarily spending money, thank you!!
This is how I always wash my pads, however, I found it's easier to rinse them with a bucket of clean water or the other side of the sink (plugged and filled with clean water). You hold the palmolive-saturdated pad under the clean water and squeeze it several times and it rinses much faster this way instead of having running water hitting it. Just my experience.
G8R 5OH that’s the way I do it
Soak the pads in the bucket as the ones you clean rinse into that bucket
Perfect video very informative thank you
I'm very new to detailing and I just work on my cars and my kids cars. I use Griots exclusively. How your washing your pads is exactly how I clean mine only I've been using Dawn. And yes sir it takes longer for the soap to dissipate. I'll try palmolive. I thank you for letting me know I'm doing it correctly. Aloha
Thanks for confirming that I am doing the right thing! 😁 I'm using Dawn Platinum Erasing Dish Foam and 1 pump cleans 1 pad perfectly.
Styli F
Loving the Dawn foam soap, seems to last a lot longer than regular dish detergent.
Thanks Scott!! Great info.....Like seriously! 👍👍😎
Thank you saves me a lot of money.
Thanks scott i will change the way of cleaning my pads john from Australia
Great vid! Thanks!
Thank you for this video. I was wondering how I was going to wash my Meguiar's foam pads. With everything closed down right now I couldn't go to a laundromat to wash it. I just finished washing them with Ajax dish washing soap and it worked perfectly.
Thanks! Just what I heeded
Great info sir. Appreciate ya
super helpful thank you
Works great for wax-thankx!
Thanks just purchased a buffer today and pad
BOOM! Thanks Scott, I'm new to this stuff and you set me straight with this great video. I did it and it works great. Thanks again.
Awesome tip thanks for sharing
Excellent advice .thank you
I use the same technique just with a pad cleaner . I only do one or two cars a weekend so it works in my world.
Thank you it really was informative
Your awesome thanks for these tips
Great Video!
Thank you. Very informative
thanx scott , your awesome
Thank you I started to buy a pad wash and after watching your Video I prefer to wash the by hand and save me money.
Thank you for this.. I thought the same thing about the bucket especially for over 100$
I gotta say, I was a little skeptical considering what all is offered out there as a "professional cleaner/cleaning system", but this seems to work amazingly. I used Dawn instead of Palmolive, because that's what I already had at home, and it was a HUGE difference. I'll know the final result tomorrow once they're dry, but all looks good so far.
Thanks for the video thanks for the tips preciate it
I'm pleased to see I'm doing roughly the right thing already! I actually use a bit of APC is the only difference. It's a citrus one so smells nice ...
How many different ways did you come up with before settling on the "wash it under the faucet"method?
Alright I have drunk all the cool aid... washed my micro fibers in All and now I have a bottle of Palmolive his for my pads....you were absolutely correct on both !
Great! Saves me some doing ;ess than the best enhancment possible. Valuable video.
Yep, I clean my Shark vacuum foam filters the same way..
Kudos to you from Houston, Scott!
One of your best ever thank you !!!
That’s a big call. Didn’t break into the top 5 on my “Scotty’s best ever YT odd and bods tips”.
