Very helpful, saved my life. I'm doing my BEng thesis on a pneunet and have been trying to make hyperelastic analysis work on Fusion 360 without much success.
When I try to split my model into cross section view in design modeller to mark the inner walls, I get an error "AnsysWBU.exe encountered a problem. A diagnostic file has been written C:\\Users\" Any ideas? I've tried to import the file in several different file formats.
Hello, i never had that problem before. I could not tell you if there is a solution. Maybe some licensing problems? Thanks for watching and i am glad i could help :)
Hello Jorge. I followed all the steps to the T. Whenever I try to solve it, I get this error: "Element located in Body "Soid_Fluid_Simplifed" (and maybe other elements) has become highly distorted. You may select the offending object and/or geometry via RMB on this warning in the Messages window. Excessive distortion of elements is usually a symptom indicating the need for corrective action elsewhere. Try incrementing the load more slowly (increase the number of substeps or decrease the time step size). You may need to improve your mesh to obtain elements with better aspect ratios. Also consider the behavior of materials, contact pairs, and/or constraint equations. If this message appears in the first iteration of first substep, be sure to perform element shape checking. Named Selections for the offending element can be created via the Identify Element Violations property on the Solution Information Object." Do you know how if there is a fix for this? Thank you regardless, this is a great video! Edit: I'm using ANSYS 2022 R1, if that matters
Hello, I followed along this tutorial and when I executed the simulation my outcome comes out to be very different. My actuator tends to bend slightly at first, but it elongates in the longitudinal axis mostly. Any idea what might be causing this result?
Hi Jorge, thanks for the clear explanation! I'm working on a project and I need to assemble four gripper fingers to a central hub and test the tensile strength as it attempts to pull a test object. I was wondering if you could give me some guidance regarding this. Thank you!
hello can you share with me how you found the material constant of the material i have EPDM as a material and i can't find the propreties to defin it in ansys. I really need those informations+ it's also an hyperelastic material
Thanks, Jorge for the tutorial. Could you let me know which software did you use for 3d modeling? Is it Fusion 360 or solidworks? Could you also share the 3d model files so that I can see the steps you used to model it?
Hi @@JorgeMoralesAv , thanks for the reply. Could you also share the stp file of fig.1 ( Parametric model for additive manufacturing) of your paper which includes the base plate and channel connectors from the air supplier?
hi, i was following your step, and in the solution step, it have an error said "your product license has numerical problem size limits, you have exceeded these problem size limits and the solover cannot proceed", i using the student's version right now, so do i need to chang some of the setting in the previously setting? thank you very much!
When I do the same mesh characteristics as in the video, I get about 1 million nodes and half a million elements which is causing the solution to fail. Can you explain how to decrease these? I am using the student license so I believe the amount of nodes I have are fairly limited.
You could try meshing the part very simple with the default mesh settings and leaving everything in auto. I am not sure if there will be no errors because of mesh distortion. If you are using the student edition, it will be very challenging to adapt the mesh to such limits.
Watched the whole video.. definitely connect with you on research gate... and would like to do some research together in soft robotics if you are ok with that..:)

Hello Jorge, Do you have the same tutorial in SolidWorks? I will like to know how you ran the simulation in SolidWorks if perhaps you have instructions or other video links to use to run the simulation in SolidWorks?
Hello Seun, unfortunately, this kind of simulation are still not possible to perform using Solidworks. At least not exactly and accurate as this from Ansys or Abaqus. Even with Simulation Premium and non linear analyses. I will do my best to make a video with something similar using Solidworks. Thanks for watching!!
@@JorgeMoralesAv Hello Jorge, Thank you for responding to my comment. I will look forward to seeing another video with something similar using SolidWorks as suggested.
Thanks Jorge. Very insightful and helpful.

Hello, Mr. Jorge. Can you briefly explain what is the difference between the "normal" "component" and "vector" for pressure define?
Does where the arrow point at for the pressure define by "normal to" indicates the load direction, and is that a way to change its direction?

Hello Jorge. It doens't seem to be a simple way to find the maximum power output (force) of the gripper, do you perhaps know a way to calculate it?
You mean as in payload at the end of this actuator?
