I've been a fan of his over 55 years. There is none like Al Green. He doesn’t just sing the words from memory. He gives every word and line a full, personal meaning, caressing every syllable. That's why you can't forget him.
Mr. Al Green was the king of smooth!..There's a stark difference of live performances then, as opposed to now. Delivery, passion, authenticity on point💯
"How can you mend a broken heart",was originally written and recorded by the BeeGees.Al Green put his very soulful l style on it and made it his own.I love both versions.
My brother everything was so real and close to the heart. I graduated in 1972 and Al Green was a household name 2 years before that. He was so awesome in concert also. Artists sang with all their heart and soul and were that good.
This song is a Bee Gee song. It happens to be one of their favorite cover songs. Bee Gees have written so many songs for so many talented musicians. Remember Guilty by Barbara? Gibbs wrote and produced that whole album for her.
Since the 1960's to now Barry Gibb Wrote, Produced, Composed or Arranged 18 Number Ones which makes him next to Mariah Carey and Paul McCartney one of the most successful Singer/Songwriters of all time. His other Songs have been sung by his Brother Andy Gibb (1958-1988), Destiny's Child, Elvis Presley, Michael Bolton, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick and The Co Ed UK Group Steps most notably Tragedy. He also did this Song as part of a Duet with UK Blue Eyed Soul Singer Joss Stone.
Lol. You got to question the kind of people who makes fun of someone liking Al Green. The man is a whole legend! What’s funny about that?? I wouldn’t worry. You clearly are the one with good taste in music. Stay up💯🙏🏾

Even in 2024, this is still the gold standard for pure "soul" music.

My absolute favorite singer ever!!!
Mr. Green is a Legend.
He works the audience. I've seen him in concert twice one in the early 70's and once in the early 2000's. He's one of a kind.
THE RIGHT REVEREND AL GREEN, and the band of angels.
Classic breakdown. Al is definitely underrated vocally in my opinion....
Not really. He rated as high as#16 on rolling stones, greatest singer's of all time.
Al Green is a legend, his music rattles through the trees..
His voice wow so beautiful ❤️
I always loved Al Green , because of his unique voice control. He and Bobby Hatfield were great to listen to in the 60s.
Love the music❣️
Ahhh, the Reverend Green. Love him, had his album back in the 70's, played it till it warped. Check out Love and Happiness next
Al Green is and was the best. Never gets old
Love Love Love!!! Please react to the Bee Gees HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART (1979 LIVE). (Streisand is in the audience, but not shown.)

Note how Al uses the microphone, sometimes feet from it as he had, has such a great voice.
Al Green!!! You doing it up today. Thank you!!
Al always has and had a really great band. No tricks just great musicians.

This is live children!
Al Green definitely sings it better than The Bee Gees ❤️🎤
Singer song interpreter he makes you feel every note
He did a great job covering this song. The Bee Gees wrote this song and their version is a little more faster.
He is sooooo underrated. He has been a favorite for years.
Deniece Williams - "God Is Amazing" (live at the Grammy awards).
Randy Crawford's "One Day I'll Fly Away" (live version 1982).

Listen to Al Green sing L•O•V•E (live version).
Also listen to "Can You Feel What I'm Saying" (live version).by Minnie Riperton.
I was always an Al green fen versus James Brown.
I still prefer the BeeGees original recording of their song.
It hurts when your black friends only know eminem. Got made fun of for liking Al Green.

Maybe Al Green should give props to The Bee Gees. It was their song.
