You are CORRECT. I have the same airline Jack White owns and it is absolutely GARBAGE. I’ve spent so much money over the course of 3 years trying to make it sound the way it does today and for most people who pick it up would say it is still absolutely trash to play. But I find it’s how you play it, play with it like it’s a broken old toy then it will sing for you. Don’t take it as a serious guitar because they aren’t! They were sold cheaply in department stores and in mail order catalogs. They’re made out of resin and fiberglass and held together with what looks like a fridge gasket for Christ’s sake haha. The pickups tho, yep yep yep juicy as heck. I’ve had a couple of the sets of supro/airline pickups and they are great funny lookin single coils. I mean what’s not funny about a fake single coil? But anyways, $3000 dollars and mild disappointment later I’ve come to rly love it and how garbage it is because I always can think about my favorite band and the reason I play music when I pick it up and lets me fuck around with a dinky lil vintage guitar. O and if you were for whatever reason buy one never bring it to guitar center for a set up, they did nothing to it because it was like an alien to them.
It has such a unique sound to it, very...vintage? I guess that is the only word that comes to mind, even in the visuals. It reminds me of those old school steam engines, its wild.
Nope, but I’ve been there as well. My wife bought a 63 Gibson acoustic at Rivington. The one with the Airline wasn’t too far away from Guitar Center from what I remember.
Nice demo and presantation mate. The guitar looks and sounds fantastic but the positioning of the tone knobs is a bit awkward. By looking at it, it feels like it's an obstacle for the strumming hand and also, i imagine that when hard strumming there's a high chance they get hit by the pick. Could you clarify on that?
Man these are so damn cool, I've always thought it'd be hard to pull one off without looking like trying to copy you know who, but as of now I've decided, fuck that nonsense, who cares lol. I like the one pickup one also
I'm going to get one of these someday just to have it. I'm left handed, so I have to go with the red anyways, since they don't offer other colors in lefty. I don't mind though. Great looking guitars and I'm sure they're much easier to play than the originals. If you think about it, Part of Jack's motto when he was in The White Stripes was all about struggle. He fought with the instruments. I'm sure those original Airlines were extremely difficult to play, like mentioned in the video. Also Jack uses the black and gold scheme too with The Raconteurs, so you really can't escape him lol
This is a great demo of this guitar, however, I gotta say, that first few seconds with the caption "Coming Up..." of the repetitive downstrokes on the same power chord... is not what I would have picked to put at the front to keep viewers watching. Especially with so much more great playing throughout the vid.
@@LivingroomGearDemos No, I know the song lol. You play it perfectly. Just that particular part, by itself, clipped out, doesn't really sound immediately familiar and just looks like random downstrokes. Anyways, this is an excellent demo of this guitar. I especially appreciate that you made use of the master volume to clean it up. I do have a question though, do the volume/tone controls at the top ever get in the way of picking? Seems it would be easy to catch you picking hand on them if you get carried away.

Always love that oddball look of Airline guitars. Eastwood makes quality stuff these days!

Great vid btw!
Damn man, that guitar sounds wicked and looks even better. Love it!
Indeed Rich!
The Airline is quality stuff but even so I was not expecting such a massive heavy sound from that guitar!
💪🏻

Yep!
I am watching this video from remote Western Australia. Because of this video I am getting one of these. Love how you kept it simple. Rock on!
God that sounds good, don't know if it's the amp, the guitar or combination of both. Nodoubt its also your fingers. Perfect tone to my ears.
Thanks Mark! It does indeed sound pretty awesome!
Bright and snappy. So Much better than the one I bought in the company’s early days
Wonder if you take the gasket off and the guitar basically comes apart in two pieces like a clam shell
Props for sneaking in the Big Guns riff!
🤟🏻
Love it's shape
Yeah me too!
Was the store in NYC called Rivington Guitars? They usually have a good variety of old l, cool stuff like those.
Nope, but I’ve been there as well. My wife bought a 63 Gibson acoustic at Rivington. The one with the Airline wasn’t too far away from Guitar Center from what I remember.
Have you tried out the Josh Homme's signature Maton?
I have never seen one locally :/
I loved the sound of this guitar😍🔥
😎

I want this in the gold color way 🥵😩♥️🔮
What's your thoughts on tone chambered guitars? Does it make a difference for better or worse?

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I feel that a different color helps though!
@@LivingroomGearDemos yeah for sure, they've got a green one I really like
Laurie from Slaves has one as his main guitar and it doesn't come out as trying to copy. So, yeah, who cares !

It's a very well-known White Stripes song. That's why I picked that

What's the riff at 4:50? Sorry I keep asking this lol. Great playing as usual!
Black Math by White Stripes

So jel, but very happy for you!
I really want to get one but I'm broke as fuck and the living expenses keep rolling in.
Clicked for the guitar, stayed for the Peppa.
Did u name this guitar black math?
I will now!
5:45 Song name please?
Something I made for the video, mate!
@@LivingroomGearDemos ahhhh, these riff are awesome, mate! Great vid btw ;)
The 59 has what look like humbuckers but they are noiseless single coils disguised to look like humbucker
when the new jack white video ? ? plisss thankss great videos
At least unboxing was done in the living room
this channel is a lie
You've got an Infinity Stone.
I do!
Big guns
yeee
The pickups are trash but the guitars are decent. I highly suggest putting a set of supro reissue vistatones in it. Much better than the airline vvsc.
Looks like a Loog guitar.
Is this Plastic?
think so
@@LivingroomGearDemos mahogany chamber bodied :)
It sounds like a les paul
