Thanks for the fast reply. Guess we'll try again, otherwise, he said we would have to pull axle we fixed out to be able to move the assembly (Strut on right Side), cause we have to move it out of the way to get new complete strut in place. A lot of disconnects just to put the damn shock absorber in, thanks. He has an air hammer, maybe it does not have enough pressure, looks just like the one you used. Any other suggestion is appreciated.
What size air hammer did you use to get the axle out of the knuckle? Cuz I have a 20 gallon air compressor with 3/8 fittings. I’m hoping mine is big enough.
Can the axle be damaged when changing brake pads and rotors? I just recently had those done and then a week later it’s back in with supposed axle wear and tear.
Hey, thanks for the video! But I was wondering, do you know how to remove that control arm bushing on the right @ 3:13? What specialty tool would be needed?
Hope you will answer this, my mechanic & I (Just Watched) replaced the driver-side shock absorber on drivers side, went to the passenger side and we couldn't get the right side axle out, we had a similar air chisel like you used but couldn't get it to budge, the other side was much easier. Do you have any suggestions on how to free right side axle? We are replacing the whole absorber like in your video, a complete unit.Hope you can help? Your video is excellent!, Good Job.
Just a question bro, I did the suspension of our car and accidentally pulled the passenger axel! Same as what you did, grease leaked out but I properly put it back, is there any way that I can regrease the axel? And what kind of grease do I need to use? Thank you so much! More power on your channel! 😊🎉

What did you use to replace the strut? Did you use a Monroe strut assembly or did you replace only the strut and reuse the springs? I'm a little disappointed. I have a 2017 with 76000 miles and they both have oil seepage. One is worse than the other. I'm looking for strut assembly options to avoid having to compress and remove the springs. I'm trying to do this at home. Any suggestions for replacement options is appreciated. I only see one strut assembly option at Rockauto and I'm not familiar with the brand.
yeah back in days we used to compress so many struts to save $... these days mostly we buy strut assembly ...best option for home diy is get strut assembly..I replaced this one because costumer hit huge pot hole or something and bend strut assemble with some other minor things, as you can see somewhere in video when I got 3 bolt on top lose that hold trust assembly , usually it just falls down but not in my case because everything was bend , I had drill hole little bigger to fit new struts assemble..
My seems bent as well I thought they usally came like that I have a 2023 Ridgeline and I broke my control arm inner tie rod and my axle came out so I replaced control arm and inner tie rod but I’m confused on the strut it’s self I want to reuse some parts on my strut because oemparts for all parts for the struts are 738$ total
I've removed the front strut from a handful a vehicles and by far the hardest one was the Honda ridgeline 2917

There just bolts holding it’s the easier thing to remove after you remove all of other crap like in video

@@dougmalkemus894 they come out really hard that’s why I took air hammer out usually I don’t use air hammer unless it’s really stuck
Does the Pilot and Ridgeline front end identical? If so, all torque specs are the the same?
what is the hammer and punch used for?

Do you remember the orientation of the strut when installing? The free is an arrow on the top mount plate
Why Honda? Why design it like this?
Yeah seriously. This is gonna suck haha
Came here looking for how to remove the lower control arm. It's the only thing you didn't take out in the video. 😢
It's literally three bolts.
@@iceman763 when you know, it is. Without a manual, I was wondering how many of those bolts it was.
