    Definite tab abuser here. Learning how to read now so I can learn walking bass properly. Thanks Dan!

    Thank you ! Rush: one of the greatest musicians ever gathered. I saw them in Brussels in 81 or 82, Completely stunned hearing Broon's Bane/The Trees 😮

    That Ibanez got the old thick tone. It's nice. 😊

    Thank you, Dan. Great progression from your first chord chart lesson. I'm glad that I put in the time and effort on learning the scales and modes. Now I have to work on my ear. Looking forward to the next lesson.

    Time Stands Still has an incredible bass run somewhere in the middle of the 2nd chorus. Lightning fast and sounds awesome!!

    Thanks for the indepth look at this sort of stuff. It is not flashy but is the brick and mortor of bass playing. And that tid bit of info on using realitive Major and Minor really is a true two for one. You learn about just using those two shapes and makes you sound pretty awesome. As always Fantastic🎉

    Good stuff-thanks Dan. One thing that I found that got me away from tablature is Chordify which is really a sort of moving chord chart. But then I got too reliant on Chordify for playing songs regularly, and that does nothing for memorizing chord progressions and certainly doesn't help with ear training. I'll still play along on Chordify but force mysely to look away from the screen. That has helped tremendously with my ear and knowing the sound of the I to the IV, the V to the I, etc.

      Interesting point. I think removing crutches can be scary but, ultimately, it's best for us. You sharpen your memorisation chops!

    Why is there a space after C# and A etc.. what does that mean ?
    What does the 4/4 mean ? Are there other combinations of numbers possible?

    • @OnlineBassCourses
      @OnlineBassCourses  8 днів тому +1

      They are chord symbols, contained within bars (or measures). You can have more than one chord per bar. 4/4 is the time signature - 4 1/4 note beats per bar. Yes, there are loads of different ones.

    Or: You could use a pencil and paper and keep the art of writing alive into the bargain 😂🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧♥️

      Both are cool! Chord chart reading is very different though. More room for interpretation.
