anyone who shits on varney who doesnt watch him at club level every week but simply rate him by his work with Italy dont know what they're on about. hes a quality player for a 22 year old. its just hard to do well at 9 when your forwards get demolished physically every game(which is what has always been Italy problem)
Some people give him grief about mistakes. But the mistakes I've noticed tend to be mistakes of inexperience. He's young. Those are wrinkles that will iron out. Give him a few years with competition from Garbisi Jr and he'll be a top player.

He is very talented
I'm positive he will be the starting 9 in Quesada's Italy.
He's the best scrum half when it comes to kicking and Italy needs better kicking in order to raise its game.
You should also make videos on South African youngsters cause there's real talents all over there
Varneys good but I’m not sure he’s good enough to lead a national team from 9 if they are wanting to consistently win games. He doesn’t seem to have the confidence to be consistent. Maybe why he’s been dropped by Italy in favour of Garbisi. Hope he finds his form though.
Varney's lucky that Nic White fell off so bad, otherwise he might be the worst T1-international scrumhalf.

Garbisi is starting because he has been with the NT squad longer in the lead up to the 6N (Quesada's words) as he is based in Italy whereas Varney and Page Relo have only just arrived.
Too many flair players lack elite game management skills, but Varney has both. He could be the italian Dupont if he works hard enough
