I'd say that's karma for Roxanna, she never loved or at least paid real attention of Joseph who did everything for her sake but instead paid attention to her first love Marco. Now, she's paying the price.
Two broken people in a toxic relationship makes me just feel bad for both of them. I have noticed the trend with Chinese authors that they just love to treat the woman the ml ended relationships with as shit and making them miserable even when the woman wasn't that bad or became better. I think it's disgusting to treat characters like this and it just feels like the author hate her and just wants her to suffer. They both did the same thing to each other so there isn't the excuse that she was a terrible human being like usually, but the author just made her unable to move on and let her die off screen. I won't tell anyone how to write the story except when the story is garbage, but one thing I hate in a story is to feel the presence of the author and I felt it hard with how the ml was easily able to move on while she was written to slowly die because of depression. They both had a similar backstory which enforce the feeling of the authors presence. This is just my thoughts and feelings and anyone that don't agree with it can do so, just be civil about it if you comment. Thanks for the story and keep up the hard work.
I heavily disagree with you. They did NOT do the same thing to each other. While it’s true that they got together because of stand-ins, he treated her FAR better than she treated him.
@@NeoCreo1 But would that still be true if the situation were reversed? I believe he would do the same and with him going to her grave each week is practically cheating. If they had a sibling relationship then things would be different, but his feelings were more then just sibling affection and he would never have gotten any real feelings for his ex like he said, so even if she used all get love on him he wouldn't have loved her and probably still left her.
Sorry to break it you but there are stories were the fmc does get a good ending and her bf/husband gets the shit ending (even if situation was complicated like in this story) …. If it ain’t popping up in your feed then that just means that your algorithm knows what you’re most likely to click and watch ……

Anyway my opinion is the same, no one-really at fault but one hand Roxana should have accepted that Joseph wanted a breakup because she clearly knew her actions were unfair toward him and on the other-hand after mentioning the breakup, Joseph should have told her the truth, that she was also a substitute, thus they really need to breakup in order to avoid hurting each other more. If it had happen as such, I believe they would have stayed in a amicable relationship.

She eventually falls for Joseph, but her diminishing love and later guilt towards Marco prevents her from having a shot at winning Joseph’s heart. Joseph accepts Roxana’s confession because she reminds him of Alicia, his tragic love. He also figures out Roxana is using him as a stand in, but decides to remain in the relationship and also use her in the same way. Everything unravels when he comes to term that their love triangle is doomed and that he doesn’t need to fall in love again to live a fulfilling life.
