Hello, Marc. I originally subscribed to your channel because I have Vera's twin - a 1995 945SE Turbo, same colour and interior as Vera, only 67k miles ( check MOT history for N263TTT) and truly lovely nick. It may be up for sale in the next few months and I thought I'd give you a shout in case you're interested though I appreciate it might be too emotional given Vera's tragic exit.
Many years ago I bought a non turbo 940 estate for £250 from a very upper crust lady who lived in a castle in Scotland. It was filthy inside as it had been used for transporting hunting dogs.
This is the car that originally drew me in to your channel see it's nice to see it back! Their comfy welcoming interior and boat-like exterior is really appealing!
Best cars ever made are the old volvo cars..i have had several of them and now very content with a 2008 S40 1.6..older ones are so difficult to find now.
Vera is fab. I need another 700/900 in my life again. Bev looks good on camera, but she’s got her fair share of battle scars but it’s characters. I joined the VOC while I was at the show last week! And Hydras…. The best alloys
Great to see Vera back mate and you smiling so much. Lovely example, love the induction noise too. Miles behind the videos again, so a not so strange place to say that I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and very best wishes for 2023 and beyond.
Thanks Darren it’s great to have her back she was massively missed but unfortunately something that needed to go at the time to make the workshop work. Merry Christmas to you and your family I hope you had a great time. Stay tuned for 2023
You're a man living the dream, a huge cave with all his favourite "I want" cars in it. Nice one Marc, I felt like you'd made a mistake moving Vera on, not often I'm right lol, glad you've got it back 👍
Definitely living the dream absolutely buzzing to have her back. It was sell this one or sell one of the minis so it felt like the only thing to do. But it’s worked out well and so glad James is been so good to sell her back. Cheers for watching
@@SimpsonsClassics Yeah, now that you explain it like that I'm fully with you on why you did it. It worked out very well in the end so all is good. If I'd lived closer to Manchester I'd have been at the Frost meet.
Smashing car. Replace the tail lights (perhaps with the ones with clear indicator lenses, as fitted to V90s and very late 940s) and sort out the rear arch and it will be even better ^^
If I'm not mistaken that 940 has a clear coat over the paint, just like my 940. I also want to remove little scratches. I will be interested in exactly how you do that. Do you sand back the clear coat and the paint underneath. Then repaint and then reapply clear coat. Is there any problem with getting the new paint over the old clear coat at the edges. BTW I understand the reasons you would buy back a Volvo you previously sold. I did the same thing with a '91 240 GLE sedan (with tan leather seats). Perhaps it's the ergonomics of the whole car. Just lovely.
Hey yea they do have a clear coat over the paint so maybe a case of sanding back and see what I can do. Either way if I came up with a good plan I will let you all know. Glad I am not the only one to sell and buy a car back aha cheers for watching 👍
@@SimpsonsClassics So, I didn't realise you had sold and bought back an old Volvo. I've been commenting on every vid in this collection. Sorry for being annoying, but anyone who gets in a car and says. "Hello old friend" clearly has a mental illness OR really knows how to appreciate a well made vehicle. LOL. Go out and get another 940. Cheers for making your vids, I really enjoy watching them.
looks good mate, if you goto thingyverse and search volvo 940 there is a gauge vent mount there, if its the one i can print it for you. i did post before but i think the post got removed as i put a link in it. car looks nice
Marc made up Vera is back, gutted as just put my 440 1.8is on e bay today as I have lost my storage . As my mini is taking up my garage. Top vid as usual take care mate 👍
Cheers for watching Ste absolutely gutted for you. I hate selling cars and selling the 940 was awful so I am glad she is back. All the best and thanks for watching 👍
I do want to know where you found a 15c turbo. It's quite common to convert a 13c to a 15g or 16t (or other larger TD04 turbos) These 15g / 16T turbos came from the 850 or S/C/V70 (first gen) Turbo cars. This requires re-clocking the turbo, modifying the exhaust manifold slightly and a custom wastegate actuator.
Yes the turbo was clocked all this work was done before my ownership the BSR exhaust system front to back was also sourced for the car it all worked well as a package for sure.
What a great badge to have underneath the 940 one on the rear. CLASSIC they knew it would be when they built them.
Thanks buddy I love this car. It was called the classic as it was one of the last models of the 940 made it’s a celebration model.
I can't help but smile every time I turn the key on my '89 740GL. I completely understand your need to have the 940 back. Congratulations!
Thanks Matt glad you can understand why they are so great. I love the sound of your 740 also. Cheers for watching 👍
I love these old Volvo's nice cars live forever like watching your videos mate
Hey glad you share the same love for these cars. Cheers for watching 👍

Hello, thank you for your response. I would most definitely be interested. Please can you email me on simpsonsclassics@outlook.com
Kind regards
When i had a 940 estate mine was dark green and had the optional extra of real grass that grew up through carpet in the summer
Aha do like then in green. Sounds like a unique feature for sure

Do you have the details for the guy who makes the vent mounts for the gauges?

@@SimpsonsClassics very interesting. I wonder which cars got the 15c turbo?
@@Schwedenstahl245 i don’t think any did this is a aftermarket turbo as the previous owner bought this car many many years back with a blown turbo.
Definitely do a service video fella
I will bare that in mind buddy cheers
