Ojude Oba: Yoruba Heritage | A Short Film
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лип 2023
- One of my goals for this year was to tell the story of the Yoruba Aunties and Uncles of the Ojude Oba Festival which happens in a town in Ogun State, Nigeria called Ijebu Ode. The Ojude Oba Festival is a renowned cultural celebration that takes place in Ijebu-Ode, a historic city in Nigeria. This is an annual event held to honor the Oba, the traditional ruler of the Ijebu kingdom, and to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
Hope you really enjoyed this short but very rich piece about my Yoruba people!I will be posting a much longer video in a couple of days which would be a really informative travel guide for those who want to attend, participate or find out more about the Ojude Oba Festival.

Wow. The clothing, the music, the attitude, the customs, this is unique to us Yorubas. We can never dilute this, because our childrens childrens children must know this is Yoruba and Yoruba culture alone in 100 years and still proudly connect.
Let us teach people who we are instead of reducing it to being 'Nigerian', so that history books will not confuse people.
