33:31 She was out flying for the entirety of 2x01. But before that I think the last time we knew she’d ridden Syrax since Driftmark like 6 years ago. I don’t think they flew to King’s Landing in 1x08, since she specified to Alicent that she would return to King’s Landing on dragonback after bringing her family back to Dragonstone.
For real. They're just here for the dragon fights. They might as well only watch the battle episodes since they clearly don't have the attention span to pay attention to what this show is really about.
Addam can ride a dragon, firstly because of Valyrian Blood, secondly because Targaryen-Velaryon intermarriage is so prevalent and common that both bloodlines are more or less fused, Corlys himself must have some Targaryen blood by some unknown ancestor, but the Dragon riding "gene" must've skipped over him and gone straight to his children.
Tagaryens and Velaryons mixed a lot. Driftmark and Dragonstone are right next to each other. Aegon the Conqueror's mother was a Velaryon, and her mother was a Targaryen etc... We don't have actual details on Corlys' immediate female ancestors, not even his mother. We have more details on Targaryen family tree, and there are a lot of Velaryons in it, like Aegon's mum. I think with Seasmoke you could also head-canon that he is still bonded with Laenor, and has been looking for Laenor, and Laenor's half-brother is the closest thing.
I don't think they translated that into the show; if they had, we would have listened to someone talking about it and Targas/Velaryons would look somewhat similar. To my knowledge in show lore Corlys and Rhaenys were the first Velaryons and Targaryens to intermarry
I think the dynamic between Mysaria and Rhaenyra is interesting but could've been more interesting if they had recast Mysaria after the time jump. As is, she looks the same age or younger than Rhaenyra, but she is at least 10 years older, right? Either way, getting with your uncle/husband's ex-fake-baby-momma is a new level wild
I see what you’re saying, but if she is like 8-10 years older than Rhaenyra, that would put her in her early to mid-20s when Rhaenyra was a teenager. Most people by their 20s already have set features, they don’t really change after that compared to when in their teenage years. So keeping the same actress for Mysaria makes sense. In the show Alicent and Rhaenyra are the same age (15). Alicent marries Viserys when she’s 18 and he’s 30. And Daemon is 4 years younger than Viserys which makes him 26, so Mysaria could be same age as Daemon (it is not stated neither in books nor show what her actual age is, I’m just guessing). So Rhaenyra is about 8 years younger than Mysaria. Compared to season 1 I think they did try to make Mysaria look a little older in season 2 😅
@@rexibhazoboa7097 exactly, I think getting with someone’s ex is more common than getting with your uncle😂 but in Targaryen world it’s just as common 🤷🏻♀️ anything can happen in the HOTD universe I guess
I'm late to the party here but a few comments... - The sword Viserys is holding is indeed now Aegon's. It was once the sword of Aegon the Conqueror and is called Blackfyre, made of Valyrian steel. - The word you're looking for is the Dragonkeepers. - You mentioned the sept which exploded with wildfire - the one in this show is actually a different sept. The Great Sept of Baelor was the one at the time of GoT but at this point in time King Baelor hasn't been born yet. This sept is the Grand Sept built in the same location, but it isn't yet the base of the Faith of the Seven - the High Septon is in Oldtown in the Starry Sept. This is why the Hightowers tend to be fairly religious, their home is also home of the Faith. - It's kind of an unanswered question why Addam can ride a dragon. One idea is that Corlys does have some Targaryen blood and that's enough (Velaryons and Targaryens intermarried for a long time). Another idea is that not much is known about Addam's mother, perhaps she was a dragonseed. In the books there is a possibility that Addam's father is actually Laenor, so descends from Rhaenys, although most people don't believe this due to Laenor's sexuality, and the show has aged up Addam anyway so it doesn't really fit. Another idea is that maybe the need for special blood is just a myth, but I'm not a fan of this theory. Finally, it could be that all you need to be able to ride a dragon is Valyrian blood, not Targaryen blood - it could be that anyone with Valyrian blood always could ride, but the dragonlord families kept the dragons to themselves and didn't let lesser Valyrian houses even have the opportunity to ride. The first idea and the last idea are the ones I like the most. - Sheepstealer being in the Vale is different from the books so no-one can be certain where this plot is going. (Even now the season has ended I think there is still some less obvious possibilities.) Author GRRM is quite unhappy about this change however, and went on a little blog rant about how his dragons stay local to their lairs (in Sheepstealer's case this is on Dragonstone) and wouldn't venture off somewhere.
@34:09 ....not the "Lusty". 🍻 About 2 episodes ago when Mysaria told Rhaenyra maybe Sea Smoke was lonely, and Rhaenyra looked like I'm lonely too and walked away shyly.....it was evident the story might lean this way. 🇵🇭
Daemon's hallucinations are the story. He started this season undermining Rhaenyra's claim with his resentment and recklessness, and he's basically going through magical therapy being forced to confront all his failures and misdeeds. He's not going to be the same Daemon after these visions that he was before them. I don't know, I just think the people frustrated by these scenes are being very impatient and short-sighted.
28:05 that's not the red keep, it's the sept. and it's not the sept of baelor, which got blown up with wildfire, that hasn't been built yet (and looks way different).
ANSWER: Corlys Velaryon doesn't have Targaryen blood because Targaryens traditionally don't marry their princesses to other families to prevent the dragon-riding ability from leaving the family. This rule was broken only once before with Rhaenys, which was a significant event. The "grandma of your grandma" was stupid addition from the show is inaccurate and doesn't appear in the books. However, Corlys and his sons might potentially claim dragons because they possess Valyrian blood, which includes the magical affinity for dragons. Unlike many Valyrian families, they didn't own dragons in Valyria as they were a lesser house outside the top 40 ruling families. In Valyrian society, power was measured by the number of dragons owned and the purity of one's blood, as purer blood increased the likelihood of controlling a dragon. While Corlys and his son Adam have the necessary blood, it's not pure enough due to intermarriages with non-Valyrian families.
I've been wondering about this, because. I haven't read the books. I see people keep saying Corlys has dragon blood because of what Leana said to Viserys in s1e2 (about joining houses as they did in old Valyria). But then others saying that's not book canon. Is it all just something they added for the show? It sounds like blood magic for the dragonriders lineage was really important in the og story but the show seems to be kind of steering away from that?
@@desgirl1952 the good thing about this world is nothings is a fact... we know that of many possibilities of the start of the dragons that blood mages from ashai created the dragons from wyvers and modified a race somehow with literal dragon blood and that race affected by this magic had unique features as silver hair and purple eyes and the ability to bond with dragons. I civilization was born there, a powerful nation led by 40 families that have most dragons and purest blood... we dont have much details but we know that they prefer to marry only from varlyrian houses to have pure dragon blood not necessarily incest... velarion house was lesser house so no dragons and less pure dragon blood but still strong dragon blood since they have the features even in the show not like the celtigar house. After coming to westoros the targaryens prefered to wed siblings and if somtimes a male went out he wed a velarion because its the next purest dragon blood in westeros even that was concidered weak in valyria, but its still dragon blood in there. And in other stories thats all legends valyrian families made to keep control of the dragons to themselves... Me myself i believe the story as its one of the more believable ones between the other legends and i think its possible because in this world blood magic is real and strong and we know what happens with daenerys later on.
@@TNG4M3R Hmm, that version of their origin and history does make make sense and gives the world of HOTD and GOT an overall more cohesive context to me. Blood magic to create/bind something as amazing and dangerous as the dragons seems a more interesting & believable concept than Valyrians just happening to find and tame them centuries ago, then somehow successfully never sharing them through propaganda in all this time. Thank you for the info!
Hey Meesh and Dee "Happy Monday". House of M&D I hope you two day is going well. Great episode. As you can see, the Green Council tries to manipulate Aemond only to fail. As well, Aemond is removing his mother from the council. As you can see, she was trying to reach him but to no avail. You can see Aemond look at Daemon as his rival. Aemond is failing to listen to Larys Strong words that the smallfolk of Kings Landing is not happy that there isn't any food. In which will cause them to be desperate and attack. In hope of Aemond making him Hand only to be rejected as Aemond want Otto. Aemond hearing Aegon is a cause for concern for him if the truth gets out for what he did. He will lose his position as in which now Aegon is a danger to Aemond. Aemond refusal to think about the small folk caused Kings Landing to go into chaos and anarchy in which forces Alicent and Helena to escape after the smallfolk receive food from the Rhaenyra ship. The scene of Alicent and Helena getting attack reminds me of season 2 of Game of Thrones when Tyrion, Sansa and Joffrey get attacked. It is nice to see Paddy Considine back as Viserys, as you can finally see Daemon breakdown in which he admits his guilt of letting his brother down. Rhaenyra takes a risk in putting Steffon Darklyn on a dragon, only for it to fail as he's killed. In which she now cause more people from her council as well as Jace to question her leadership. I wasn't surprised at Rhaenyra and Mysaria getting together. With more scenes, the two share together as well. You can see them growing closer. It awesome that Addam claimed Seasmoke. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.
"Where's the action" is such a meme. It's like when ppl say the only good parts of Star Wars are when an edgelord with a red lightsaber is edgelording.
seasmoke like "instead of waiting for them present to me more of those fools one after another I speed up the process and claim my own rider by myself"
Alicent worries that Aegon and Aemmond turned out the way they did because of her but I think we all can agree that they turned out that way because of Viserys, which is why the son who was free to leave doesn't seem to have that cruelty.
Nope, sorry but I disagree. Viserys was already old and becoming ill when he married Alicent. He also married her for duty. He loved Aemma so it makes sense that he would love Rhaenyra more. Alicent was forced into the marriage which is true and she was there to give Viserys sons. Yes she was young but that's no excuse for her treatment of her children. It's just as much on her as it is Viserys.
Rewatch season 1 bro; alicent and otto were always 100% toxic to their children. Viserys was absent yes, but it was the greens who pushed into being hateful wardogs
@@GustavoCardoso95 Viserys wasn't just absent he had a clear golden child and was flat out negligent of his other kids to the point that they knew he did not want them. Viserys actions when it came to Aemmond's eye is a key reason for why Aemmond turned out how he did, not Alicient or Otto.
I think she is referring to alicent loosing her power (her voice) in the council, she is no longer a player just another woman and her 'domestic pursuits'.
6:50 Meesh is correct, it's aegons sword BlackFyre. 28:05 So that's not the red keep, I think it's supposed to be the Great Sept of Baelor which is the one Dee mentions got blowned up, but as the named suggests, that's was built by Baelor who has not been born yet. Either the show messed up or there's another Sept that I don't know about. 39:45 On the books they're officially Leanor's bastards but rumored to actually be Corly's bastards, if they truly are Leanor's then they would be like an 8th Targaryen.
It's unlikely to be the Sept of Baelor. During the reign of Aegon the conqueror, there is a mention of a 'grand sept' being built on Visenya's Hill. The Sept of Baelor was later built on the same site. I don't think there's any lore if the first sept was destroyed or simply refitted, so it could be they appear similar?
Now that Meesh mentioned it, I noticed that everytime Daemon wakes up from the dream/hallucination, it's always the old Strong's voice or he is the cause of Daemon's waking up... Could there be something about him? hhhmmm...
of course there is! Simon def is working with Alys. He always remarks about Daemons's sleep etc. My read is that their initial plan was to drive daemon mad and make him go away, but Alys seeing his dreams and talking to him realized that he could be an ally She is very similar to melisandre; she is hearing the old gods directions and obeying them in a sense. I wonder if we'll have a moment where Alys will tell Daemon about the ASOIAF prophecy and he'll connect the dots
Yeah he is letting his anger get the best of him, he is like a younger Daemon. However, daemon still loved his family, Aemond doesn't, that makes him a danger for EVERYONE, black and green
@@GustavoCardoso95 Hmm that makes him more liability tho. Because with such haste he aldready is gathering enemies from both camps. that will be his downfall.
Sometimes we sapphics should just work around the pre-built software automatically assigning the vibes™️ as a friendly one, because I also did not see that kiss coming and I feel like it is a gay failure sjdhs
The scene between Larys and Aegon might be contending for my favourite in the show so far. We all know Larys is always trying to advance and rise in power but it was nice to see him actually show a sensitive and genuine side to his motives and for him to make Aegon realize what he has to do in order to make the best out of his situation
Alyn and Addam are both bastards of Corlus. So it makes sense for Seasmoke to choose Addam. I mean Seasmoke was already peeping Addam in episode 2 or 3. But am also kind of over Daemons visions. I feel like its filler to make his character relavant during the season.
Corlys is Valyrian, and his blood line can ride Dragons. Seasmoke is Laenor's dragon, Rhaenyra's pretend husband who decided to go live his life far away. If you remember, Seasmoke already stalked Addam in the last few episodes.
His bloodline can’t ride dragons. The Velaryons weren’t one of the noble families of the Valyrian empire, and those were the only one who could ride dragons. Laenor and Laena get their dragon riding abilities from their mother.
@@kennetherhabor5543 *Addam. In the book Addam and Alyn were supposedly Laenor’s bastards, though there were rumors that they were Corlys’s. For all we know it’s possible that their mother, the daughter of a shipwright on Driftmark, could be descended from a Targaryen bastard or something. Plus the Velaryons and Targaryens have interbred a lot since the Doom of Valyria, so there could be some dragon rider blood in the Velaryon line at this point, but it’s not because their family is Valyrian. It’s specifically because of the Targaryen ancestry. Targaryens were the only Dragonlords to survive the Doom.
@@kennetherhabor5543 I think the dragons smells that alyn is related to Laenor; that's why he accepts him. In the books there is 1 particular character who is able to ride dragons without having the blood; so it's not totally out of the realm of possibilities
And also does not help. That from previous scenes there was not much "chemistry" shots... Also whole Misandria plotline this season is very convoluted and "lucky" for Rhernya. Compared to season 1 I think they did try to make Mysaria look a little older in season 2 😅
its just Rheanyra's partner's ex. Not wild. not complicated
(Even now the season has ended I think there is still some less obvious possibilities.) Author GRRM is quite unhappy about this change however, and went on a little blog rant about how his dragons stay local to their lairs (in Sheepstealer's case this is on Dragonstone) and wouldn't venture off somewhere.
we got two new dragon-riders this episode
woo finally!!! waiting for your reaction ❤❤❤ i hope we can still see more dragon fights before the season ends.
@34:09 ....not the "Lusty". 🍻 About 2 episodes ago when Mysaria told Rhaenyra maybe Sea Smoke was lonely, and Rhaenyra looked like I'm lonely too and walked away shyly.....it was evident the story might lean this way. 🇵🇭
Meesh & Dee Truly Such A Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
Daemon's hallucinations are the story. He started this season undermining Rhaenyra's claim with his resentment and recklessness, and he's basically going through magical therapy being forced to confront all his failures and misdeeds. He's not going to be the same Daemon after these visions that he was before them. I don't know, I just think the people frustrated by these scenes are being very impatient and short-sighted.
28:05 that's not the red keep, it's the sept. and it's not the sept of baelor, which got blown up with wildfire, that hasn't been built yet (and looks way different).
The WHAT abandon?! Not the pride boat! Is pentos fire island? 😭😭😩😩

@@GustavoCardoso95 girl ik, it was a joke.

Thank you for the info!
ah yes the standards of relationships back then when dragons were still alive ah ye
I don't think people appreciate fully how difficult Fire and Blood is to adapt to television.
That ending was hot. Just sayin..
This one stopped singing, maybe amond is going to cut out aegons tongue or vocal cords to keep the secret?
That's a good theory!
@@sneb1886 They don't appear at all similar
Now that Meesh mentioned it, I noticed that everytime Daemon wakes up from the dream/hallucination, it's always the old Strong's voice or he is the cause of Daemon's waking up... Could there be something about him? hhhmmm...
of course there is! Simon def is working with Alys. He always remarks about Daemons's sleep etc. My read is that their initial plan was to drive daemon mad and make him go away, but Alys seeing his dreams and talking to him realized that he could be an ally
She is very similar to melisandre; she is hearing the old gods directions and obeying them in a sense. I wonder if we'll have a moment where Alys will tell Daemon about the ASOIAF prophecy and he'll connect the dots
@@GustavoCardoso95 Also that side-eye and micro smirk at end of this episode sealed his involvement.
Sir Steffen was Targaryen TOAST CRUNCH from JUMP! Sorry Sir Steffen!!! 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
DRACARYSSSSS 🔥🔥🔥 💀💀💀
Never imagine Rhaenyra and daemon will get together 💯
It really feels like Aemond is overreaching now that he has power. Immediately putting down his allies Cole and Lannister
I think he thinks he's untouchable because he has Vhagar and he took Rhaenys and his own brother down.
Lol Corlys married Rhaenys g. RHAENYS US TARGARYEN so therefore their kids have targaryen blood and can ride dragons too
But Addam (the one Seasmoke claimed) is not Rhaenys’s son. Alyn and Addam are Corlys’s bastard children.
Fire 🔥 reaction. 👍🏽👍🏽
Your radars for sapphic ships are off or something fr.
Alyn and Addam are both bastards of Corlus. So it makes sense for Seasmoke to choose Addam. I mean Seasmoke was already peeping Addam in episode 2 or 3.
But am also kind of over Daemons visions. I feel like its filler to make his character relavant during the season.
👍🏾
Corlys is Valyrian, and his blood line can ride Dragons. Seasmoke is Laenor's dragon, Rhaenyra's pretend husband who decided to go live his life far away. If you remember, Seasmoke already stalked Addam in the last few episodes.
His bloodline can’t ride dragons. The Velaryons weren’t one of the noble families of the Valyrian empire, and those were the only one who could ride dragons. Laenor and Laena get their dragon riding abilities from their mother.
@@JNDReacts So what is the explanation behind Seasmoke chosing Allyn?
In the books there is 1 particular character who is able to ride dragons without having the blood; so it's not totally out of the realm of possibilities
hugs from Brazil Meesh & Dee! watch some films on the channel again

Beat me to it!! 😂😂
Dude the vibe in that last scene ... should have ended with long hug, nothing more. That really didn't hit the mark for me.
And also does not help. That from previous scenes there was not much "chemistry" shots... Also whole Misandria plotline this season is very convoluted and "lucky" for Rhernya. For example she released her immediately after one conversation? WTF So she released master of whisperer witch one admitted and was proven of conspiracy.... Whole scenes with her could still be played in same "close" direction but execution is very very weak. Also actress of Misadria dont convince me. She is too bad or works very flat in this role and in mine opinion there is no chemistry with Emma Darcy.
That kiss came out of NOWHERE 🫤
Mid episode
Rhaenyra a cheater lmao i dont want to see fans start crying when daemon cheats back also that kiss goes nowhere she goes back to daemon next episode because she needs him so that kiss dont help the plot or story it was fan fic
