👏👏👏 Gets better and better every week. Mixture of emotions this morning. My heart broke for young Mick but when you see who he is today and the value he brings with experience and knowledge to be able to help those around him it’s priceless. It’s people who’ve lived and survived these traumas who can safely support victims on their journeys of recovery. Well done lads!

Thank you Mick - it is so admirable and helpful to share your story in such an open way. It is very moving and gives hope. You shed so much light on many important issues. Thank you James and Timmy - the way you host these podcasts is phenomenal - you really allow people to tell their story and help bring it out. You also add to it with the sensitivity of your questions, comments, compassion, insight, wisdom, and great ability to connect. I am sorry that the podcasts have finished but can completely relate to the reasons to stop. I am planning to watch all of them - 188 i think! I have watched quite a few already.
I have been working for nearly 40 years with children and young people who have suffered trauma from abuse and neglect - and with organizations that provide recovery services. Your podcasts are one of the most inspiring things I have ever come across - thanks to you and your guests 🙏

Another beauty lads. I thoroughly enjoyed Mick on Tommy T but this was better. What a lovely man Mick is a truly authentic man who went through hell and is now finding heaven and so well deserved. The more people with self experience working in the area of mental health the better chance we have of coming out the other side of a very flawed system. Unfortunately you do need the piece of paper, I know many guys sitting in Bars who would buy and sell some academics. Nothing about us without us perfect analogy Mick. We need social workers like Mick on the ground reall people, with big hearts and experence. Never give Up, Never Give In, When Your Going Through Hell Keep Going

I love, love, love the Dublin accent - most favorite accent, ever.
Mick, what you endured is nothing short of a travesty, that no one should ever have to endure, but, you rose above the adversity, well done.
    Another excellent podcast lads ❤

Absolutely brilliant again.... James is so correct, Mick you have won 100%.... a genuine bloke with total integrity.... such an honest storyteller, yet an horrific story ..... RESPECT ✊
The University of Life teaches you far more than the Harvard’s and Trinity’s of this world.... Expert by lived experience is an incredible description and so many Professors will never live that ......

Mick Flanagan you are some inspiration.Although your chatting about sensitive topics I found myself laughing more than anything listening to you.Well done for being so open & honest.I'd image your helping a lot of folk out there.Best of luck with the degree & if that doesn't work out you can always be a comedian 😊😊

Oh my god, the horror of what Mick went through... and the aftermath, mentally and physically. 😥
His bravery and honesty is amazing. Hopefully it might make other survivors carrying shame (which they should carry zero of, but they sadly do) feel a little less alone.
