For any Who fans that love the vintage footage, there is an amazing show called Live At Tanglewood, 7/7/1970. It's the best footage of a Who show I've seen, it's bright and clear, the music is in perfect sync with the footage. Moonie is in fine form and the camera captures all his glory in great detail. And the drums sound crystal clear, sometimes Moonies drums get sort of lost but not in this show, it's like a bell it's so clear. Just be warned, if you start to watch it you'll be compelled to watch the whole thing. I try to watch a song or two and every time I end up watching the whole show. It's really worth it if you love love vintage live Who.
Wow...this takes me back to my Fillmore East days...saw every show they did there...they did many in '68 -'69...tix were $5! We would run to Diskens record store as soon as we heard they were on sale! Still have my ticket stubs...such incredible, powerful memories...best times of my life!!!!
the first fantastic live band in Rock history ... the incredible Who and his mighty rythmic section keith moon & john entwistle ❤ . R.l.P Keith and John .
There will never ever be another band like THE WHO they were the best live band ever and ever will be listen and watch young musicians today and learn from the very best band .
100% pure essence of rock. No wonder why the WHO never needed any screen or pyrotechnical effect on stage, they are the incarnation of what "rock" means.
YES !!!!! Same as what I've always said. They embody the soul of Rock. They ARE T H E Rock Band . And to me it's what's at the heart of punk. I think it's rebellion and Freedom . A proclamation . A sonic manifesto.
FINALLY! Some fairly decent looking early footage of them and especially of Keith. This was when they were at the top of their game and nobody and I mean nobody could touch them. Anybody who was around in the 60's and saw them would agree with me there's been nobody like them since.
AMEN!!! Especially KEITH MOON !!! WHAT A LOSS!!! I ALWAYS LOVE IT WHEN THEY SHOW A LOT OF HIM!!! He was FINE and SEXY and a BADASS DRUMMER, too !!! ❤️ He could NEVER BE REPLACED!!! ❤️ Sincerely Darlene an American Girl who has a thing for drummers ❤️❤️❤️
. ...as in, I became a hippy with all the trimmings: long hair, long beard, dope, bellbottom trousers AND seeing every band that was worth anything. 'Upcoming' bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, etc, etc 😉
Actually, Townsend seemed to be the member who tied everyone else together. Entwistle was a monster. He used about every finger on his right hand. A person of few words though.
@missdarlene7 AMEN 🙏 I Love it when they show a lot more of KEITH MOON the BADASS DRUMMER ‼️♥️ Sincerely Darlene an American Girl Who has a thing for drummers ❤️❤️❤️
I see Townsends outfit is the same one Kubrick had his nasty guys wear in Clockwork orange a year later. They just need bowlers and masks with large noses and they are twins.
VERY unfortunate mutilation of film where Pete gets right down on the floor at the climax to this tune .watch the one from WOODSTOCK '.the Kids are Alright 'has it.
I totally missed out!! I was only 9 when this band were legendary!!! Thank God 🙏 for videos !!! ❤️ Sincerely Darlene an American Girl who has a thing for drummers ❤️❤️❤️

And that's why THE WHO is the greatest LIVE rock band of all time...
Folks you are watching what greatness is all about
Every time I see Pete Townsend in the white jumpsuit, I know good sounds are coming.

Eff off were they Punk they Rocked!
Everyone talks about the hard rock of the 70’s and 80’s but all of them exist because The Who existed first
Keith is my favorite drummer. He is so much fun to watch and truely outrageous.
Best rock shots are those of Pete Townshend in front of Hiwatt stacks. Iconic.
I was there, totally blown away and have had tinnitus ever since, what a night, what a Band, I became a disciple from that time.
At one of The Who’s documented loudest concerts ( Louisville 82), have had tinnitus ever since- it was worth it
I was at a Triumph concert in 1978 & temporarily lost my hearing in both ears for one day. Now I have tinnitus as well.
When it comes to playing live,...no band in history will or can ever come close to the Who....
maybe the jimi hendrix experience!
a lot have tried : led zeppelin, MC5, Slade, ACDC, but they all are far behind!
Led Zeppelin comes close.
Agreed,no doubt the best live band ever 🎸🎶
What a load of bullshit.
@@RossSmith-wd5mj I have been to a few concerts in my life and undoubtedly 3/4 of the WHO was the best!
For three guys and a tambourine that is one huge amount of noise. This white/white Moon phase is as good as it gets.
I believe the tambourine outplayed them all
Music for people falling down stairs.

Totally agree with you! They were completely untouchable as a live band - the best ever! When Keith died, so did The Who. Kenny Jones?? Oh dear no!
Thank you

@@missdarlene7 In that case I will learn the drums immediately! I play keyboards and guitars, so I’m sure the drums won’t be a problem…
This proves Keith Moon really is the greatest rock drummer of all time!!!
Rock drummer, yes.
Brutal Gibson SG sound from king of feedback Pete Townshend.
Holy lord, Pete absolutely kills it here!!
Rock at it's purest, most powerful, rawest, intense, The Who - a force of nature.
The greatest bunch of musicians ever, Pete Townshend the best guitarist of all time
He honestly is and not enough people say it
Emotions running high,,,,,
@@cade9173 Stop typing and start talking
I'm a Who fan, but your statement is complete bullshit, Pete never did a great solo in 60 years of being a musician
@@pulsarlights2825 he didn't need boring old long solos, the power chords and brilliant use of feedback were much more exciting
That's The Who I love.
I was a fresh young upcoming hippy just in London (escaping my military upbringing) & this was one of the first gigs I went to!

Greatest live band ever.
Le jeté de micro de Roger et les sauts de Peter. Quelle époque vus au palais des sports de Lyon.
The sound of ROCK GODS. Thundering musicianship, the greatest classic rock ensemble of all time.

I always thought that 3:40 sounded like the I Can See For Miles intro. Damn, it would have been cool if they played it!
Good call
The hardest who song to play live Keith couldn’t replicate on stage because of how fast he was
WOW!!!!! PETE AND KEITH AMAZING
this moment 1969 to isle of white 1970 best Band in the world
If John’s Bass were here the mix. The Who rule!
None of this is miced right- that it’s still so good🔥
They had some great shows.
Probably the only rock band or any band that had a lead bassist not a lead guitarist 🤔🍻🍻🤘🤘
Actually, Townsend seemed to be the member who tied everyone else together. Entwistle was a monster. He used about every finger on his right hand. A person of few words though.
Keith Moon at his best. My gods...

First comment, cool! Amazing ending, there's a reason this band;s music will go on forever. And they were just about at their peak here.
The mixing desk:
Pete: +11
John: +4
Keith: -9
Rodger: Forgot to plug him in

Yep, superior to The Bloated Blimp.
