I think you need to be a little more honest when you say that subs are immune to Hydro and radar. They are absolutely NOT immune, but it depends. Also so much of the community shit on subs but have never tried to play them. Subs are not that super easy to play as many think they are. Big difference in the skilled Gato player one shotting something from time to time. Also you could equally be one shotted by a skilled Shima/DD player almost the same way. Just that Sub hating makes people blind to this fact!

The distance between the mines is / was of such a width that subs would not be able to just full-speed through them. However, with an even shorter turning-circle, this is now changed. So... fairly sure, yeah.
@@duesing6 they dn't have to. The support-CVs will just drop the mines as an area-denial effect. Which should be for all shps, but less so for... the more manouverable ships.

Uninstalling was the best decision I've made in the game. Still very fun at times but so much WG bullshit that you have to wade through to get to the fun.
A couple are fast underwater like the 4501 but it has to get down to 30m or its really slow, most subs are running around 20knots if there turning any.
He is talking real life comparison, the fastest normal size ww2 sub did 19knts underwater. Unless wg just gave them all Japanese midget sub speed 30-40knts which is seemed like they did.

Regarding the camo changes, I'm honestly just glad they didn't go with the WoWs Blitz route, where *_EVERY_* camo has unique stat changes for your ship, and *_all_* of the non-premium camos are *time gated.*
So basically if there will be a sub in a cap, the DDs and Cruisers will be looking at each other and say: "Well, go on then!" That sub turning circle will be hell for any DD that wants to help the team by sub hunting. We will just leave it to the BBs to handle them, like they were built to do :))))))
On average, DDs are currently the least capable class at fighting subs. Yes they can be ROFLStomped if the sub lets the DD drive over them, but that's rare.

Here's what the sub turning circle sounds like to me - horizontal dolphining. It's already a crap shoot at hitting one of them underwater because the ping silhouette lasts like 2-3 seconds and with their speed and now even BETTER turning radius, you have better odds of hitting the lottery than hitting a sub right after they ping (assuming they aren't doing the sub equivalent of a cruiser sailing broadsides in a straight line). Brilliant.
Every ships should have asw. hunting sub is just a purge. They just keep making the game less and less fun for everyone who doesnt play sub or cv. Each game without those is is like "oh yeah good old time" (and then u realise there is 4 radar each side and it's camping time)

In Clan Battles now even with the petro removed, Moskvas are just about equivalent to Petro from my experience. so having only one petro is not much being limited
Here’s the test, make random battles “surface only” and “random battles all classes” and let the player base show you what they like. If nobody plays “all classes” it shows you they don’t like those other ships in that game mode, and you basically delete it. Annoy some people? Sure, but idgaf about butthurt sub captains, the inclusion of subs has cost far more people playing than it keeps, and I’d bet my left nut on that. Prioritising the few over the many is a huge part of what is killing the game.
The camouflage thing has a VERY easy fix. Just make the camo give you a credits amount equal to the selling credits after using it. If people are just gonna sell it anyway wg lose nothing with this, and people will be using it in battle without losing posible credits.
One potential upside of the camo change is that if people *do* buy credit perma-camos, it serves as a credit sink to prevent price inflation... if weegee cares.
Yes, this thing about locking the main guns while you drop the deep chargers would be so good, because atm is a total crap, being for example in a Yamato and until i point my guns again to the target, is already gone or he angled. As you said, when you see the ping from the subs you gotta move fast and drop the 💩

Submarine surveillance on back line ships is somewhat ok, how many matches I’ve been in where the sub is hiding somewhere in our spawn area or stealth sprinted to our spawn from the beginning of the match & starts harassing back line ships early - exactly where these ranged kiting cruisers would sit at.. just saying

ikr, clan battle should be refreshed. I argue that it willbe more interesting if they put airship escort. Put a theme on the clan battle such as "All classic", where you can only use USA, IJN, USSR. Maybe not for the entire season, but part of the season.
New Sub radar does highlight Weegee's preference towards subs. DDs have to deal with longer and wider radars and can die just as fast, while subs have absolutely nothing threatening them above 8Km of range and 7Km for most ships. Just comparing the average surface ship radar to the best sub radar is a joke. DM radar 10km for 35s, TX sub radar 7Km for 20s. Mind you that radar base duration is extremely important because upgrades are percentage based. So yeah, currently DDs have a very hard time going under 10Km from ships, which for most is equal or above their torp range. While subs it's 7Km or 8Km at most for one line, which is in every case way lower than their torp range.
WG seems to be trying to limit credit-making ships like Massachusetts, Jean Bart and musashi by removing their ability to deal with the current meta. Mass, JB and musashi are stuck at 5km ASW and notice the vague wording: "range will be increased for Ohio, thunderer Jean Bart/JB+B" [How much??] ..."It will become SIMILAR to the ranges for other battleships at their tiers" [WHICH BATTLESHIPS?? All the tech tree ships get 10km range ] They've crippled the ability for the mass to deal with subs unless they're on the surface and spotted within 8km (and the secondaries MIGHT be able to do something). Meanwhile even the Tier 5 New york gets a better ASW than the mass, and it will never see tier 8 to 10 submarines....which can launch 10 torps every minute.
tbh I wouldn't hate buying a nice perma for my fletcher or humph, it's sort of cool that they're credits. would never do it for doubloons/coal/steel though. but I can grind credits easily enough.

Except that you actually need skill to do that with a DD even with a Paolo Emilio, if you Yolo a BB and there are 5 cruisers behind him you will die, whereas with subs you do the shotgun then disappear for free

So the top sub for turning circle might be able to orbit under a battleship inside the length of the battleship

When did they change massa and musashi from 7 back to 5km? When they first released the dev log they had buffed them to 7km

Subs need to be slowed down and increase their turning circles. They have no business being so fast and agile based on their design.

One simple fix : 0.5km DD detection against subs - then DDs can do what they were designed for.

isn't there a Tier V Ship ( italian if i am not misyaken ) that doesn't have ANY ASW ??, so you are pretty much defenseless against Subs

It is SO FUCKING DUMB that the Italy and Japan are getting "Submarine Surveillance" first, let alone AT ALL! (maybe they had SOME hydro search but i doupt they cared too much about submarines) I swear to god if the US Cruisers and British Crusiers (maybe even the US and British DDs too) don't get Sub Surveillance I'm gonna be PISSED! Hell even the Germans should get Sub Surveillance on their Cruisers, since they would KNOW how dangerous a Submarine can be.

I watched you play live the other day and you drove around the map in a dd right up to under 2.5k to a BB and launched all your torps into his side killing him everyone was all happy saying thats why they love watching you play and how it was such skill.
There is no differance shotgunning with a dd and a sub.
Just admit it you want to be able to farm everything in a 18k circle around you without worring about torps hitting you.

Except that you actually need skill to do that with a DD even with a Paolo Emilio, if you Yolo a BB and there are 5 cruisers behind him you will die, whereas with subs you do the shotgun then disappear for free

This is what you keep believing, I really dont think you guys have ever tried playing a sub, so Ill fill you in. If you travel to the enemy side of the map and shotgun something in most subs your battery is out and your forced to the surface, not to mention in your example the asw would surely kill the sub.
