- U-4501 - German Tier X submarine. In October 1943, Walterwerke submitted a proposal to the Kriegsmarine for a submarine featuring a closed-cycle Walter system engine fueled by hydrogen peroxide. This engine was designed to operate effectively whether the submarine was on the surface or submerged. The various sections of the submarine hulls had to be manufactured in different shipyards, and sections for four submarines-designated U-4501 to U-4504-were produced before the war reached its conclusion.

Gameplay-Prediction: U-4501 is a "lone wolf" item. Needs to be supported against enemy subs like sub hunting Sovjet subs at the beginning of the game, but if it's through that line, this flank is usually toast but with no teamplay whatsoever.
After watching: U-4501's gameplay is "I'm a bully. Watch my ping, here I am. Why are you running? I'm faster than you!" lol

I don't think it's a good idea to use realism as a way to judge WG's decisions, the game is so unrealistic already, even in its premise and mechanics, that there's no point in sticking to realism in terms of game balance

The speed is still ridiculous, how do out run this? Your only chance is to get behind an island if you are lucky. WG needs a separate sub vs sub game, then this fair.

I love seeing people bitch about submarines. They get to see what it was like in the good month of naval shipping whenever submarines dominated in WW2. Did the boats hunting them ever change? Naa. They got more of them and quit running away and chased the submarines down and killed then immediately. The longer a sub is up, the more you’re gonna die. If the sub gets detected once and you don’t take control, you’re a dead captain. If a sun does his job, he’ll never get detected. So if he did, you better get him while you got the chance.

U-4501 is currently the only sub in game that has a heal like a battleship would.
@@bb-152ussmeta9 If you look closely, he hasn't taken any damage yet and is not using his heal.
@@pompodoriusoh, then it's because he has a special captain on his ship. Gunther Lutjens, one of his skills is that if you spot a certain amount of ships, you get a free small heal. You can usually tell by the flare that got launched into the air.

6 min mark, someone cheating, No planes, no spotting, sub traveling in a 45 degree departure from last ping yet somehow 2 planes suddenly show up, head directly at sub a drop charges 1 of which was directly over head. A bit suss. There is no way in hell asw could be that precise unless it was either a BB bot or a player with mods
My thought exactly. One of them could have a mod or some kind of cheat showing the sub. It's the Satsuma by the way. He did another strike at 13:52 also look kinda sus. Probably he has some kind of auto ASW mod. Whenever sub ping or detected his planes launch right away

So i have a question ? about this ship compare it to the techtree German sub U-2501 stats in game and manouvrabilty.
Then you see like surface speed so 0 height? anyway i thought this ship would be faster on surface but it's not and it's actually a slow sub (U-4501) in my opinion.

Well there's one good reason that I uninstalled. Out runs a DD whilst under water????? Huh? What a Frikken crock.
Not all DDs. The max speed is around 35knts and only has just over 4 minutes to travel at that speed. Doesn't go that fast at periscope or surface.

It's an absolute disgrace that subs can do this. Nerf hard their concealment, make the semi-circle when pinging point to the direction the sub is heading, etc
