Only the bears have a legacy near to the Steelers. But not lately. Every decade since the 70's the Steelers have had elite linebackers. 80's were the least of those.
Steelers switched to a 3-4 defense later in Chuck Nolls coaching career and it's been crafted and honed ever since Dom Capers came in with the 3-4 with Coach Cower in 1992 Then Dick Lebeau came in the 1995 he invented the 3-4 zone blitz known as Blitzburgh..but the 3-4 defense almost came to an end when Coach Tomlin took over in 2007 who was a 4-3 Tampa 2 defensive guy But soon seen the light and kept Coach Lebeau as DC and never looked back and in a 3-4 you have to have studs at linebacker and that's why the Steelers have had the best linebackers in history
Steelers D in the 90s was amazing. They tended to be held back by a mediocre offense. It’s a shame they didn’t win a Super Bowl. They are too often forgotten.
I was born in 1993 so I didn’t watch these amazing defenses but how did they not win a Superbowl in that era, my dad goes on about O’Donnell in the Super Bowl they lost to Dallas but I’m surprised they weren’t in more.
It was the era of that awesome Buffalo Bills team that went to 4 straight super-bowls. They may have choked in the big game, but they were devastating during the season and playoffs. They had our number back then.
@ very true bro my dad even said Kelly,Thomas and reed could beat us but my only question is after they lost to them and Dallas why didn’t they do anything after that?
And behold, there came an army of Black and Gold. Each man, a machine designed for war. Wearing Steel armor, forged from the earth, quenched by the mouth of the three rivers. The Steel warriors march from battle to battle, carrying out the wishes by command of their General, Tomlin, The King in the North. Their armor, still stained with the colors of defeated creatures from battles past, makes room for more. 31 kingdoms stand in the way of the Steel Colossus in their search of the one ring of power. Surely they will fall, for we have entered the age of Steel. To add to the injuries, a final insult is rendered to guarantee victory. It is a creature who wears a gilded boot, a creature that weares cleats to protect the earth from his quaking steps. The creature known as The Boswell. The warlord that leads these Steel soldiers into the land, soon to be scorched earth, is known as Wilson. Russell of Wilson, the gunslinger. The architect of wrecked. The soul of Black&Gold. This Steel Reaper throws so fast, it reaches his targets before he throws. The slammer of revolving doors is He. The 3. Remember the banners, a towel so terrible. When it spins near you, it becomes unbearable. A strike so fast, you forgot how to feel. It's your life that's passed, at the drop of The Steel.
How do you choose the five greatest Steeler linebackers ? Ham, Lambert, Russell, Lloyd , Kirkland, Greene, Brown, Harrison, Farrior, Watt , Devin Bush, lol, just kidding about Bush. Who I am forgetting that could be top 5 from that group ?
Steelers are still known thru the NFL for having the best linebackers ....PERIOD

Levon Kirkland, Greg Lloyd, Kevin Greene, Chad Brown.
60 Minute Men.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED WATCHING LEVON KIRKLAND PLAY! I remember well the interception he had shown in this video.
Steelers history of linebackers is amazing and should be acknowledged because it has always been a constant!

Couldn’t find a quarterback. 🤷 Not until Big Ben in 2004.
@danielevans9379 what about Kordell Stewart? I don’t know I’m just going off what my old man and big brothers say
@
Kordell was a great athlete, but way way too erratic and inconsistent a quarterback.
Goosebumps
We have been blessed👍🏾
Just the BEST of Our Black n Gold Horseman . Just caused Major Havoc in backfields !! 😎🇺🇸🇺🇸
Always ❤❤❤❤Love My Team
Let's go Steelers Greg Lloyd
Monsters
Controlled Chaos

That is a very cool take
@RebeccaTaylorTillery you don't think it was a bit dramatic?! Lol
@@dclong- but the drama is what makes it so good 👍 😌
Lloyd should be in the HOF
🖤💛🖤💛💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Yes it's all true
You need to create a video of the New 4 Horsemen for the Steelers
❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏!!
I dislike Steelers but i respect rival Raiders. Great Games. . We made you better
Just plain nasty
270? Levon wasnt 270 in high school.
If you don't know.... you'll never know
They should have got a Superbowl if only they didn't have a choker
Don’t run that shi! Over here!!!

I remember these guys in the Superbowl against The Cowboys they got beaten up sorry Cowboys OLine were stronger .Steeler were always good.
Ah? It wasn't the defense that cost them but Neil's 3 interceptions that he gifted Dallas
James Harrison is the only other player who could have been one of them.
Watt could start on any Steelers team.
Avoid Lloyd!!!
COWHER!! WE MISS YOU!!
Why did you leave your team to terrible Tomlin 😢
Mannnnn...... go kick rocks🙄 Luv Cowher but he was 1-1 like Tomlin. U should be saying that about Chuck Knoll😅
Rip Kevin green 🎉 great LB!!!😊!
