RL twitch chat is notoriously awful imo. I don't even bother keeping it up for RLCS anymore because it's just frustrating. It's generally " *insert player who just scored* is the greatest in the world, all other regions are trash!!!11" until the next thing happens on screen. And their team is still like 1-5 down, lol.
I don't know why it's not being moderated. I would have banned this kiddos a long time ago already. I really don't want to be racist here but funnily enough 90% of people flaming in Rocket League when I'm playing are French. They seem to have some real issues.
I think this performance from Mawkzy will stay in my mind forever : dude went undefeated against Daniel, Zen and Rw9 in one tournament I mean just writing that feels insane to me. Plus the way the first game went I thought Dandroid was going to be just unplayable, yet he still found the win at the end. gg wp to both. (And Thanks to Johnny for the event, really loved it)

Daniel was on fire up until he faced mawkzy then got all the life sucked out of him, absolutely brutal
He did an incredible job showing his 1v1 experience this series also. Absolutely S-tier time wasting when he was up, never *really* overextending terribly when he was winning, kept a really cool head for the whole series. Really shows what a tremendous ranked warrior he is, unrivaled mental.

Mawkzy peak is the best in the world in my opinion. Anytime I see him popping off on players I say nobody is this good consistently. He gets in these zones where it's like he has a 6th sense on predicting his opponents, both offensively and defensively. And then he has that unsavable flick to top it off

Yeah, I'm honestly pretty puzzled at the way Daniel chose to play the tail end of this series. He started it out much more high-flying, and it was working much better for him. As the series went on, I felt like he went for fewer and fewer aerial plays, and went for more technical challenges and prioritizing boost control. That sort of playstyle is never going to work against a player like Mawkzy who's so incredibly experienced in 1v1 that he could defend on 2 pads for like 3 straight minutes. Mawkzy is much too patient to try and out-patience.

What a mad tournament. These guys are seriously next level. Just for fun my personal rankings(assuming that Daniel had an unnaturally good day and Mawkzy had an above average several days)

i agree, even though zen is unplayable on his day and no doubt the most mechanical player in the world, i dont think he can stay world number two after losing a series to all three of them. Also RW9 got that unreal consistency in the past so he stays number 1 for now despite his losses.
@@ruthlessgaming736 for sure, and Rw9 beat zen twice, even in the rematch while he was away and Zen had been grinding show matches. Rw9 is on another level. In my opinion if Rw9 is a 10/10, Mawkzy is a 9.9,Zen a 9.5 and Daniel a 9 or a 9.5 on a good day

Lol puts Rw9 1st even though Mawkzy swept the tournament. Other than that issue I don't really think ranking these 4 means much considering how often they trade wins, cept maybe Daniel under Zen, but also maybe not after this
i have mawkzy above rw9 as of now just cuz it makes sense, he went undefeated in the tournament. but i predict rw9 to get back #1 place soon because hes more consistent.

I love the state of 1v1 right now. Every player is immaculate and their skills and strategies are so diverse. Mawkzy flicks are unrivaled and all the micro-adjustments each player made through any point of the game were so fluid it was almost unnoticeable. We really got to see something in beautiful in rocket league thanks to this tournament, and hopefully, there are more lined up soon.

personally i think mawkzy has the best playstyle for tourneys. best at being consistent with ground attacks while being able to add in aerials attacks when needed. his bump game is next level, like first killer in salt mine next level, and then a kick off that he can always rely on to at least prevent a kick off goal. however he is not the best at show matches which is why i think he is the best in the world in tourneys while others are the best in the world in a single match on one day.
Thing is we only care so much about showmach in 1v1 because there is no RLCS or highest stake tournament today, but if there was we would only focus on tourneys. Hopefully one day we get a regularly scheduled Psyonix ones tournament

damn, after what dan did to rw9 and in the first game and a half of this series i didnt see this coming. Mawkzy just too good. great to see him showing up big time in tourneys
Guys this is not a spoiler but I’m going to write out my thought process when seeing the video length: omg another sweep? Oh wait this is slightly longer than 4 games - so it must be a 4-1, probably with an early forfeit since it’s a bit shorter than a standard 5 game series.
So that’s my prediction before watching. 4-1 with an early forfeit or two. So whoever gets 2 wins first wins the series. I miss the days of the time buffers to avoid spoilers.

he is been first in 1v1 for like twelve season in a raw. probably since 2020 he is always first rank.
@@robertcarhiboux3164 the ranked ladder does not always show whos best it just shows who plays the most ranked pros dont tend to usually play ranked, since mawkzy isnt a pro he plays plently of ranked and because hes extremely skilled the time he puts in should get him rank 1
@@Master.skelly yes but when he loose a game he loose a lot of elo, most of the time he tries to have confident advance so that mean he beats many good player many times in order to have first rank. But since two season he does not rule the ladder anymore, and it seems to be more difficult to achieve that. Because you will always loose a few game in 1v1 even if you are better generally speaking.

the ironic thing that I think is being overshadowed by Daniel and Mawkzy here is that Zen I think showed that he's maybe got tournament anxiety for now, it was talked about during his first series that Zen was starting another big win streak and not only was that shut down right away, he struggled to win against everyone and anyone here. Dont get me wrong, these guys are the top 4 for sure, pick your order imo, but man the way that shuts down the meteoric rise of Zen in 1v1 is not necessarily stated enough imo. And big congrats to Mawkzy, such an incredible player and run for this tournament.

Zen had some close series before and at this level everyone can beat everyone even 4:0 if they are good that day.
The win streak was ridiculous tho and nobody would have reached such a streak.
Imo Zen was the best player in the world even tho losing against Rw9 again. But after that tournament you can give it to Mawkzy.
He's beating all these 3 guys but struggling more against smaller players in the past.

Except loosing in group against a peaking Mawkzy. The loss against a peaking Daniel were very close. It was 50/50 it's not like he underperformed.
It really is quite hard to rank Zen now. Right now I'm considering 1-3 kind of a toss up still, but probably still rw9 at the top for me. Zen got slapped around in this tournament and didn't look quite himself, but it's really difficult in 1v1 to know if he wasn't playing up to his usual calibre (this is my thought), or if his elevated opponents just made his game look weak in comparison because he couldn't get his usual game to work.
One thing I've noticed is that offensive powerhouses like Zen, Nwpo, killeerzz, they tend to get frustrated and overextend when they play against unbelievably good defenders. That's my thought on why those kinds of players tend to struggle against players like rw9 and daniel, who are some of the best goal line defenders in the world.
I don't agree with Johnnys opinion that this tournament would be all about Zen and Rw9.
Zen struggled against Rw9 and I think Mawkzy before aswell. Rw9 struggled against Daniel and Mawkzy and Daniel against Zen and I think Mawkzy.
I think even tho Rw9 and Zen were better the last months and maybe will be better the other two counter their plays better than not top 4 players.
You really need to stop pushing the Zen narrative, quite clear he got outplayed and beaten hard in a lot of these games. I'm a fan, but you under-play Mawkzy and what he did. He's clearly #1 from this tournament. Things change so fast, by next week who knows.

He can’t because it fucks with the youtube algorithm. Everybody clicks off the video once the BO7 is complete but youtube obviously sees that as people not being interested in watching the full video so it gets recommended less and that means less views

If you ask me it shows how consistent this dude is. If the other player is just falling apart it could mean he can't keep up with the whole stress and day of the tournament. In this case. The most solid player just rules.
One thing I think Johnny isn't thinking about is the fact that these top players never 1v1 this much day after day, so of course you never see them best each other.

Hurts his channel in the long run. Don’t remember when, but Johnny spoke about this a long time ago. If people cut out of the video 20 minutes before it’s over (because the match is over) UA-cams algorithm assumes it’s not a trending video or something.

I can't call mawkzy best in the world, but I have always said Mawkzy has the highest peak in 1s out of the handful in the conversation for best in the world. RW9 defense peak is the best, Zen offense peak is the best, but Mawkzy peaks best overall IMO..

Johnny, you need to chill with assuming everyone has ur opinion man. Especially with this where zen was still imo unproven in 1s tournaments before this and Daniel has clear recent evidence of being one of the kings of 1s. The only thing particularly surprising is mawksy because he hasn’t shown this level in a while but even then it’s not that surprising. I originally had rw9 and Daniel as my top 2 still, and now to me it’s basically the same until mawksy shows consistency without requiring a pop off, and zen makes final or at least has a great showing in a tournamnet.

Bit too much Daniel copium from your side for like 10 minutes straight in the beginning. Mawkzy himself was on fire the whole tournament but it has barely been mentioned.

Opponents that find a way to shut down his ground game can certainly beat him. But he shows that he's working on better reads and if he adds more weapons to his arsenal like Daniels air game he can be the one.
He may not be all raw talent like others but keeps grinding and that has my respect.

Lmk if you guys agree. I think Mawkzy is so good at the 45 degree flick that he only ever uses it. He never uses just a regular flick and I think I’m some scenarios it would be better to go with the standard flick and it would also add some variety. Obviously he still dominates with his current flicks. Just a thought I had while watching

I love how Mawkzy rarely gives in, lays it all on the line. Sticks to his play style yet adapts. Props to Daniel as well. Daniel was riding a high wave, had to come down at some point.
Mawkzy is def top 3. I think before dan and zen started taking over the 1s scene he was 100% the best 1s player in the world. Watch his old matches vs appjack, some of the best rocket league i've ever watched in my life. Dude can be extremely clinical, like he calculates every possible scenario before it even happens. But yeah def not number 1, but i got him in my top 3 for sure
I think this tournament is enough to put him back at #1. He's won 3 out of the 4 most recent 1s tournaments and came 2nd in the one he didn't win. Rw9 was also in most of those tournaments too. He was insane this tournament, and has a better head-to-head record against both Rw9 (in recent times) and Daniel. Only one he doesn't is Zen, who didn't play to his usual standard this event.
I would say it's a fairly clear top 4 now - #1 Mawkzy, #2 Rw9, #3 Zen, #4 Daniel but I have no idea who #5 would be right now. One of Yan, Trk or Jack probably.
