Hey ChaosGroup! Can you please explain what the purpose of using light portals at openings for interior renderings is? I've done some test renderings with and without them and I'm not seeing much of a difference. When using Sun and GI, the light portal actually seemed to decrease the light going into the space....when using an HDRI dome light, it increased the light coming in...but only very slightly. Is there more to it than that?
@Thales Nogueira Thanks very much. My test renderings were using a large window. I just did a few with just a small window and although it was subtle, I could definitely see what the portal was doing.
A.N. Lima no. Unfortunately the two UIs are different. The UI in 3DS Max is integrated into 3DS Max’s UI. SketchUp doesn’t have that kind of integration.

First of all You didn't tell anything about using GPU on the interior renderings, there is a big problem with lights and bumping, even if you trying to specify materials only to GPU, just tell us how to fix it and why lights are not working good. I want to know this as user who pays for your program. And talking about speeding up rendering time with this is very important to buy your product so dont tell me to use CPU. Second. Im talking about kitchen now, what's the sense of comparing rendering effects on two sides of one picture? You should show us two pictures to compare like on outside section. I was waiting for this webinar month from next veersion premiere and You did something on very average quality. Not judging. But webinar from 3.6 version was few classes more helpful than this...
I think these videos are very useful. I just can't stand the sound of the bloke talking. His voice is just annoying somehow. Useful info none the less.

Hey, if I purchase vray for sketchup on the chaosgroup website, is this the same as Vray NEXT for sketchup or are they two seperate products?
This might be late, but: VRay NEXT is just the name of their latest version that came after v3.6. So, yeah, they're the same.

hey guys i found dome light when adaptive whatever its called is ON /that new feature/ i got weird rectangels on my images .....!
its only happening in the interactive rendering, it happens sometimes in 3ds max too, but in final render they are not appearing...
