It changes your dpi from print quality to web quality. I wish there was something like this in photoshop that allowed you to export an image, with a particular file size in mind, KEEPING the DPI the same
Dude you are my hero. I'm applying for art school and i was completing my portfolio, but they wanted all files be optymalised. My artworks were pretty heavy and detailed but this litteraly saves my ass. Thank you♥️
hi, this tutorial is very useful. but i wanna ask, how can i make the file size bigger? because i have some pixel arts file but their file size is too small to upload
I have a super high Resolution photo. But when I try to make it super small. It becomes pixelated. How can achieve such method without loosing quality. Thank you
Can I ask there is a big difference if I choose png ? Because png is for e-shop ( for transparent) so I have to do the export with that , but there are differences and I don't no what to choose😔
thanks @@ninjagraphics1, its automatically converting the file from 300 dpi to 72 dpi after saving, im guessing since the tool is geared specifically for "saving for web", but i don't see any setting anywhere to keep the file at 300dpi? Am i missing something maybe?
@@DallasD_ Ah you're right, it is converting it since its meant for web. What you can do as a simple solution is to click File -> Save As -> Select JPEG -> in JPEG Options select the Progressive format which tends to be the smallest file size, and then adjust the quality of the slider with preview ticked on and see how low you can go in size before losing quality.
My problem is that i need to compress more than 1000 pics. Do you know how to deal with it in quick way without losing quality just as you do in this video?
Thank you sir, the information really helped me out on my current project. Awesome!!
very glad to hear!

That is great tip and welcome back to UA-cam and we waiting for the next upload
Thank you brother! Next video is already scheduled, and thumbnail will include my face reveal!
Is this for press quality print?
I wouldn't go that far with this compression, press quality requires 300DPI and this is mostly for web-based purposes (72DPI).
Hi, I just didnt understand what you click to open up properties. Can you help me please?
Just go to the top bar and click on Window > Properties.

PNG works differently yes, I will be making a tutorial on compressing PNG files in the future so stay tuned.
how can this be done for 300dpi files also? Im uploading to Printify and need to retain the 300dpi but want to reduce file size.
The same method should apply to that, Alexander Rogan.

I'm aware you can bulk resize images, which would reduce their size. But if you need to keep the size then I'd have to do more research.
Thanks for this info👌 you're good sir! Subscribed.

How would you ensure it is 300 dpi?
At the beginning of creating your file, there is a field where you can indicate how much DPI you want the file to be.
