This video has been a literal lifesaver. My photos can actually print clearly without pixels showing. Couldn’t be happier with the results! Thank you for this, you’re a hero, dude.
One thing I really like about your video is that you showed where the menus can be located. Several videos just don't even tell us where to look for the menus when our interface on photoshop looks different. Thanks.
you're saving my life 😭i have an assignment due and the resolution of my rendered pictures isn't good enough. With this technique i improved them immensely

I signed up for Brendan Williams’s 21 Day Photoshop Expert. I missed the discount period of $67.00. However, upon my request, Brendan was very gracious to offer me the same discount. Fabulous material, easy to learn, clear and concise explanation, step-by-step instructions, and everything you need to know about Photoshop. Thank you thank you.
Really good video...and helped massively. One thing tho...when you asked for the Enhance Preserve Details, it sounded like you wanted it to be checked off!! Was only when you got to the next part that I realised it should be on. Apart from that, worked like a charm.
i am just beginning to learn photoshop 2020 and editing pictures your video here was very detailed SLOW and simple!! i love it that you take your time when you are explaining things tysm!! ♥
I like to do two sharpenings. One with a higher radius for broader details, and one with low radius for fine details. You might need to noise reduce first, so that you don't sharpen any noise.
The best way to upscale a picture is to enlarge it by 110% and do this several times , do the test and you will be surprised how good the quality is , even to 1000% it look very good !!!!!
Thank you so much for this video I have started as a graphic designer 2days back but wasn't sure of the photo quality and stuffs this video really helped me... Stay blessed
Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial! Can believe it only took a few steps to do this. Previously I would have gone down the rabbit hole with a bunch of layers, filters and coffee to make this happen. 😲
Wow! you're a genius, thank you for sharing. I was simply going to the Filter tab and pressing sharpen, but I'm guessing it was the incorrect way to sharpen
Awesome directions! Thank you. Question though, I changed an old 72 DPI photo to 300, how would I do step 2, layer part on an old B/W photo? The photo looks like it was taken around the mid 1800's or late.
Brendan, thanks!!! I'm learning photoshop while making a book cover and your video was so easy to follow it improved my cover picture resolution to look ready for a 12 x 18 poster printing. I also learned from you next video how to resize the canvas, too before I saw this one for resolution. Thanks again x2!
Last year I lost about 16 TB of data due to a power surge issue. All my hard drives went dead. Non-recoverable even. Most of that data was backed up work that was already delivered to the clients but there was this new work for 1 client that was so fresh it wasn't even backed up anywhere else (this literally happened 8 hours after we completed the shoot). I'm a photographer by the way. We used LR preview extraction and stuff to pull out these photos but 16 out of those photos that were essentially extremely important turned out to be 480x320 in LR previews and there is no other way to fix this. Going into this video hoping this can be fixed. All I need is for them to hit 1920 on their longest edge and that will do as they will be printed in a size where this is sufficient. Hope this video helps.
What do you mean by scale the image into a larger canvas??? Does that improve the quality of the photo and resolution? Do you have a link for that video? Many many thanks for the info here. Did the trick!!!
Outstanding mentor, as always! Though Photoshop is the best, I was too lazy to use it, so I went with something quicker & easier. When I am looking for a professional retouch, other image editing platforms can't compete. In my research, I found autoRetouch, and I found it to be so professional, simpler, and easier to use. Though I plan to apply your strategy to my tool.
Using Photoshop's "Image Size" feature in conjunction with "Preserve Details 2.0" to convert low-resolution images to high-resolution ones for results that are crisp and detailed.
Your tutorials are so easy to follow. Do you have any on the ripped paper effect? Trying to make a horizontal design for a 20 oz tumbler. I’ve looked up at other tutorials but they talk and move so fast 😅
Your video was excellent but I still have a couple of questions. In the 1st part of the video you said to check off "enable Preserve details". Did you mean to Uncheck that part because later in your presentation you say to check the enable "Preserve Details" ?? If that is what you meant at what point to you ck to enable it again? One last question. Once these setting are changed do they stay that way until you change them again or do you have to go through these same steps with each new photo? I would like to be able to keep the settings as I am working with multiple low-res photos. Thanks for your response. Looking forward to more of you tutorials.

This was probably one of the best videos I could have run across. My pictures look so much better because of this. Thank you!
Thx Brendan, used it to clean up a lowres picture from 2010 for my recently deceased stepdad? You're a lifesaver.
Had no idea how to do this and have just learned from you and saved a friends wedding pics - thankyou so much!
Linear Light blend mode for the High Pass layer is nice as well. I tend to use that more than I use Overlay
I tried doing the High Pass to linear light blend and it was waaaay cleaner. Thanks so much!
totally agree on that.
Not all images you can use Linear Light, depending on image color, shadows, brightness blending mode is varied.

The 'Enhance' option in ACR is very powerful for retaining detail when increasing in size, much better than preserve detail 2.0.
Interesting, I will take a look at that option!
