So true about jealousy ruining relationships, have previous experience with this before my filipina wife. Merlyn always told me she was not a jealous person and I believed her, she told me that she knew I admired other pretty girls and it did not bother her. After a lot of the recent videos watched about jealousy, confronted her that it was impossible that she wasn't jealous, we laughed and she admitted that she did get jealous but that she trusts me...she thinks am so guapo is the reason she gets jealous...lol. So agree that jealousy is a thing in filipinas, but it is handled by most filipinas differently. It is important that you give your filipina no reasons to be jealous such as you said, letting your wife or girlfriend know you arrived at your destination, communicating with them regularly so they know what you are up to. My experience with jealousy came from my father who was very hurtful. As a result, i see jealousy as a negative in a relationship. It leads to anger and mistrust. Greetings: All relationships (interaction) is based on Mind. soul and body; 1, 2 or all 3 being the best case scenario. Myself, I seek all 3 in that order. I define and inform up front. Proper culture and home training contribute 2 the better of such. Trust is form of respect. Respect learned by culture and home training. Such is not normal practice in 2day's society. Lack of home training I figure. As such most close personal social relationships do not survive. Bottom line - reciprocate respect and love.
I like the fact that you are keeping each other posted on your whereabouts. That fosters trust! But I do not agree on sharing passwords. When I was in an LDR with my last Filipina girlfriend, she offered to give me the password of her FB. I told her I didn't want it because I trusted her. I also never gave her my password. There is, however, a reason for suspicion when you wife or girlfriend refuses to befriend her on FB. Then she has something to hide. I found that out the hard way with my ex-Filipina-wife.

No shame in getting old but I am speaking from a younger guy's perspective: you're better off with women your age. Most of us have no interest in older people unless the money is extreme. Younger guys don't have to worry about money as much like giving. Women want us for our bodies and want older folks for money and family support.

My ex wife was crazy jealous, showing up on my job if I didn’t call her on every break, if the grocery cashier was a woman and spoke just nice, there would be a scene. I couldn’t handle it. I lived in that hell for 4 years and it just got worse. I divorced her, good riddance! I lived single up until now 45 years later. I’ve always worked all the overtime I could get plus did side jobs on my days off, I can tell you that’s no way to keep a relationship going as I’ve had more than one fail over just that. I moved to the Philippines in 2013 when I retired, met a gal, started a relationship and if I walked across block away I’d get phone calls or text messages. I’ll answer a call but not a text if I’m not going to be gone all day. The jealousy over there was too much for me to deal with. The silent treatment was a relief to me but living with a bitter person didn’t feel right. I lived my last year over there alone and loved it but that ex stalked me constantly. Now I just live in Florida enjoying life my way. No headaches!

Jealousy in Philipines is a big deterent for me to look at a Philipine partner. It is a lot of stress and work if you are with a jealous woman. I agree with many on here, jealousy will just eat away and destroy a relationship for me. I went to Thailand for 150 days and many are more concerned about your happiness above anything else. I would say that there is a line between your partner staying informed, such as txting when your leaving a location or telling them where you're going and being harassed by being asked to prove where you are and who you are with. Yea information vs harassment. There is a line.
My Pinay wife does the same here. But if you aren't doing anything wrong why hide it. And you can put a location app on each other's phones to track each other also lol. And it isn't just for tracking them it is for finding lost or misplaced phones. I've used it twice when I lost my phone outside in the woods. And it's nice to know if they are on a trip without you. That they are moving and not stopped or hurt along the road someplace.

I think the reason why a lot of Filipinos are like that not saying all of them are like that but we tend to love hard with the person we are with and want to know you are invested too. That goes with honesty, integrity and transparency with each other. There should be no hiding anything with each other if you really love each other.

This might not work for everyone. My Filipina and I have been married 25 yrs now. In the beginning she used to show signs of extreme jealousy for no reason at all. I started getting sick of it and before we got married I told her that jealousy is a sign of mental illness. I asked her if she was crazy. Jealousy is a problem with woman in general. I have dealt with this for many years. It really wears on one’s patience. To the point that no matter what you do to prove that you are an honorable person and they are still jealous can make you think what did this person go through to be this way. The answer is that is the way they are and you will need to deal with it gracefully if you want that relationship to continue.

I let them know this upfront that if they can not trust me, then we are done. It's that simple. There are many, many Filipinas and they have many ex-pats to choose from. Wow ... didn't know it was that serious ... talked to one girl in the Philippines for 3 months and suddenly she started claiming that I'm cheating on her ... I assured her that it wasn't true ... but as the next 3 months went by the accusations of cheating by her got worse and worse ... she even began teaching me lessons by refusing to talk to me for a week ... Eventually I just got tired of being accused of something that wasn't true ... I decided that she is obviously crazy and massively insecure and I don't want a relationship with an immature insecure person ... even though she was 37 ... So I told her that I was tired of being accused, that I thought she was very immature and insecure and I don't want a relationship like that I blocked her and cut her off on everything and never spoke to her again ... Yep, I had the hottest blue eyed gf in my early 30s, but she was so insecure that she wanted to be with me 27/7. As beautiful as she was, it was too much. "Saving face" is a tribal thing, IMO. Western culture, overall, doesn't have it because we immigrate/emigrate so much. As for jealousy, I use ZERO social media. My wife can check my unlocked computer & cell phone anytime. If I'm going out, it's always with a purpose. I don't do 'fun'...without my wife. My children actually came back to me after college & thanked me for us not having social media...more harm than good.
Saving Face = an EXCUSE TO LIE and not be accountable for ones actions. I think saving face is more about embarrassing someone in front of others. Everyone talks of respect but don't know what it is, they just know when they're not getting it. You get what you give, if you want respect you have to give it, and respect is EARNED through your actions. A LITTLE jealousy is OK, it shows she cares, but when it gets to where he can't touch his phone or walk out the door without being interrogated, it has crossed the line into psycho territory. The jealousy comes from insecurity. Wanting to invade personal space, goes back to insecurities and shows a lack of TRUST, and without trust you have nothing. The constant need for affirmation because of those insecurities gets EXHAUSTING, and will take away the PEACE and happiness.

Jealousy. My experience with jealousy came from my father who was very hurtful. As a result, i see jealousy as a negative in a relationship. It leads to anger and mistrust. It was an issue in my LDR that stranded our relationship.

Greetings: All relationships (interaction) is based on Mind. soul and body; 1, 2 or all 3 being the best case scenario. Myself, I seek all 3 in that order. I define and inform up front.
Proper culture and home training contribute 2 the better of such. Trust is form of respect. Respect learned by culture and home training. Such is not normal practice in 2day's society. Lack of home training I figure. As such most close personal social relationships do not survive. Bottom line - reciprocate respect and love.
I like the fact that you are keeping each other posted on your whereabouts. That fosters trust! But I do not agree on sharing passwords. When I was in an LDR with my last Filipina girlfriend, she offered to give me the password of her FB. I told her I didn't want it because I trusted her. I also never gave her my password. There is, however, a reason for suspicion when you wife or girlfriend refuses to befriend her on FB. Then she has something to hide. I found that out the hard way with my ex-Filipina-wife.

I have been married to a filipina for 14 months here in Philippines from a 4 year LDR and even though I am the most honest, devoted, loyal husband you ever meet my Wife does the same thing in stalking my phone on FB, email, texts, etc. ... even deletes and block girls that are her relatives and/or friends request before I see them... I let her use my phone every day to prove my love for her ❤

My ex wife was crazy jealous, showing up on my job if I didn’t call her on every break, if the grocery cashier was a woman and spoke just nice, there would be a scene. I couldn’t handle it. I lived in that hell for 4 years and it just got worse. I divorced her, good riddance! I lived single up until now 45 years later. I’ve always worked all the overtime I could get plus did side jobs on my days off, I can tell you that’s no way to keep a relationship going as I’ve had more than one fail over just that. I moved to the Philippines in 2013 when I retired, met a gal, started a relationship and if I walked across block away I’d get phone calls or text messages. I’ll answer a call but not a text if I’m not going to be gone all day. The jealousy over there was too much for me to deal with. The silent treatment was a relief to me but living with a bitter person didn’t feel right. I lived my last year over there alone and loved it but that ex stalked me constantly. Now I just live in Florida enjoying life my way. No headaches!

Jealousy in Philipines is a big deterent for me to look at a Philipine partner. It is a lot of stress and work if you are with a jealous woman. I agree with many on here, jealousy will just eat away and destroy a relationship for me. I went to Thailand for 150 days and many are more concerned about your happiness above anything else. Refreshing :)

a little jealousy can be flattering however too much is like a cancer and will drive a spike between a couple in a relationship.....if she is that in secure it is a problem....you are the asset....there are many nice looking ladies in the world and they outnumber eligible men..especially when you eliminate the ones that are trans, gay, broke, etc.,.,...

I would say that there is a line between your partner staying informed, such as txting when your leaving a location or telling them where you're going and being harassed by being asked to prove where you are and who you are with. Yea information vs harassment. There is a line.

My Pinay wife does the same here. But if you aren't doing anything wrong why hide it. And you can put a location app on each other's phones to track each other also lol. And it isn't just for tracking them it is for finding lost or misplaced phones. I've used it twice when I lost my phone outside in the woods. And it's nice to know if they are on a trip without you. That they are moving and not stopped or hurt along the road someplace.

I think the reason why a lot of Filipinos are like that not saying all of them are like that but we tend to love hard with the person we are with and want to know you are invested too. That goes with honesty, integrity and transparency with each other. There should be no hiding anything with each other if you really love each other.

I just got back from the Philippines yesterday. I had a very successful 10 day boots on the ground visit to the Philippines. Thanks to your videos I avoided many of the pitfalls that many people fall into. I will tell you like I told Rob over at fly me to the Philippines, you both have wonderful Content of success and missteps moving to the Philippines. You Rob, and Gio are spot on with everything that you are saying. And I’m speaking from experience. My first visit was for 10 days. My next day will be for a month. Probably at the end of the year towards December. I told Rob I was going to come in town and buy him a beer. I’d like to also buy you a beer too brother. You and Janet are living the dream. We met right before the Covid so we were spending a lot of time together but then the Country opened up and I was going to go to Italy for my sons wedding and she was crazy jealous. We got through it and she is now ok with me traveling.

Two great points, Mike..I appreciate your wisdom..I have had several LDR's and learned lots...Thank God, I am too old and sick(at 73) to travel there...My friends there warned me about the "through-the-roof" specialized medical treatment...If one has a heart attack or seizure, being 2-4 hours away and NO ambulance/EMT help is a sure-fire "death wish" !!

This might not work for everyone. My Filipina and I have been married 25 yrs now. In the beginning she used to show signs of extreme jealousy for no reason at all. I started getting sick of it and before we got married I told her that jealousy is a sign of mental illness. I asked her if she was crazy. She thought about It for a few minutes and told me no, she's not crazy and never acted out in jealousy again. I wonder if she lost face when I told her that?

Jealousy is a problem with woman in general. I have dealt with this for many years. It really wears on one’s patience. To the point that no matter what you do to prove that you are an honorable person and they are still jealous can make you think what did this person go through to be this way. The answer is that is the way they are and you will need to deal with it gracefully if you want that relationship to continue.

Great vlog. Your point about disrespecting a Filipino/guy is not what one wants to do. Just be polite and walk away. We are guests here, and if we want to continue to live in the Philippines, just walk away.
As for the Filipinas. If they don't trust me, I'm done with them. I let them know this upfront that if they can not trust me, then we are done. It's that simple. There are many, many Filipinas and they have many ex-pats to choose from. I would rather be single than live with a jealous Filipina. This is a business relationship. Young Filipinas are not stupid. They are with us for a reason. We hold the golden ticket for them when we pass away. They need to realize this, or the door is open for them to leave. That's my opinion!
Wow ... didn't know it was that serious ... talked to one girl in the Philippines for 3 months and suddenly she started claiming that I'm cheating on her ... I assured her that it wasn't true ... but as the next 3 months went by the accusations of cheating by her got worse and worse ... she even began teaching me lessons by refusing to talk to me for a week ...
Eventually I just got tired of being accused of something that wasn't true ... I decided that she is obviously crazy and massively insecure and I don't want a relationship with an immature insecure person ... even though she was 37 ...
So I told her that I was tired of being accused, that I thought she was very immature and insecure and I don't want a relationship like that I blocked her and cut her off on everything and never spoke to her again ...
I went 6 months without speaking to or dating anyone ... before beginning a search again for a more mature girl ...

Yep, I had the hottest blue eyed gf in my early 30s, but she was so insecure that she wanted to be with me 27/7. As beautiful as she was, it was too much. We lived together and worked together, plus she had issues if I ever even tried to hang out with the guys. It sucked that we could not make it work, bc she was an awesome tough woman, but her insecurity was just too much.

"Saving face" is a tribal thing, IMO. Western culture, overall, doesn't have it because we immigrate/emigrate so much.
As for jealousy, I use ZERO social media. My wife can check my unlocked computer & cell phone anytime. If I'm going out, it's always with a purpose. I don't do 'fun'...without my wife.
My children actually came back to me after college & thanked me for us not having social media...more harm than good.
Saving Face = an EXCUSE TO LIE and not be accountable for ones actions. I think saving face is more about embarrassing someone in front of others. Everyone talks of respect but don't know what it is, they just know when they're not getting it. You get what you give, if you want respect you have to give it, and respect is EARNED through your actions.
A LITTLE jealousy is OK, it shows she cares, but when it gets to where he can't touch his phone or walk out the door without being interrogated, it has crossed the line into psycho territory. The jealousy comes from insecurity. Wanting to invade personal space, goes back to insecurities and shows a lack of TRUST, and without trust you have nothing. The constant need for affirmation because of those insecurities gets EXHAUSTING, and will take away the PEACE and happiness.
