    Thank you so much! Before watching this, I could not understand what I was getting so wrong in my cross-sections. Very clearly explained.

    This is a great resource. Just like doing a topographic elevation route profile. Using the ARIS REPORTS , one can somewhat pull this off. Having troubles getting the exact co-ordinates from reports to line up properly , as geologists , as they do a cut line reference & record in a not so easy manner. Still trying to figure out the ' Key '

    Very helpful, but I was wondering what do do it I have dips that are east and some that go south in the same cross sections. I believe the dips going south would just cover up all of the rock layers behind them. Is that correct?

    This is of course helpful, but not for the map I have to do. There's a horizontal and vertical symbol on mine and I don't know how to draw that out!

    Very good however for correcting student work where beds are continued to depth (without borehole evidence). Also explains clearly why student's often fail to maintain constant bed thickness

  • @oscar8970
    @oscar8970 3 роки тому

    this messes with my head because it is simply your interpretation. what is stopping you from drawing the beds as syncline on the left and anticline on the right? why can't the first fold for the sandstone be subsurface and buried rather than above surface and eroded? surely that is possible too, hypothetically?

    Cross section does not make sense in the direction shown - should explain true dip and apparent dip
