- Instructional video taking a geologic map with contours and constructing a topographic profile with a geologic cross-section. Concepts like strike and dip of beds, age of geologic units, and vertical exaggeration are briefly addressed.
It has been a while since I made a cross section, and this was a life-saver. thank you
Happy to help!!!
I finally understood how to do it, thank you so much
Excellent!
thank you, i struggled for hours to try to figure this out, this saves a lot of my time
I am so glad this helped!
Thank you so much! From a college geological engineering student. You have made it click when hours of struggling to make it make sense, were in vain. Hugs to you!
I am so happy to hear that. Sometimes it just takes another way of hearing something for it to make sense!
@@ruppertrocksgeology yes agreed!! Would be willing to make a video on how to make a “structural” cross section? Or an example of one in the future? There’s lots of videos that try on here but I feel like you would explain in such a clear way! :-)
@@marilynjubileerose Can you give me an example of an existing video so I know what sort of detail you are looking for? I would of course approach it in a different way/style, but I am just trying to see what you are needing.
Thank you for your explanation, it was very helpful !
So happy it was helpful. Let me know if you have any other topics that you want covered.
Thank you so much, you are a great professor!
I am glad it was helpful!
thank you so much.appreciate with this video we are from timor leste Geologist, easy to familiar with this explanation
Happy to help!
Your explanation are easy to understand as me as audience. Thanks
I am so happy these videos are useful!
Great video !
Thank you!
You're awesome 😊
Thanks!
I'm very grateful to have your video ma'am. Literally I was finding a video so that I can do my college practical but I wasn't able to find any video after searching around half an hour I got this. I don't know how to thank you. Love from India 🇮🇳
Love from the United States! I spent a month in Leh for my graduate research. It was just amazingly beautiful.
@@ruppertrocksgeology next time try to visit nainital you are most welcome here 🤍
Thank you so much
You are very welcome!
شكرا لك
Mamme, Thanks
Y are a good 👍 person.
I am glad this was helpful to you!
I am new to this and for me it’s hard to convert a tropographic map with some outcrops into a coloured map. How do I create a coloured mass from some sparce outcrops? Then for the cross section it’s the same thing, and how to you express the notions of true/appearant dip and vertical/true thickness, There should be an entire course on the subject…
What class are you taking? These questions start to fall deeper into a Structural Geology class where you do spend a whole class learning how to do this. I am going to try and make an "apparent dip/true thickness" video at some point - probably on the semester break!
Thank you so much
You are welcome!
