Thanks so much for the valuable information! I have my child’s N&S black Hitchcock rocker, circa 1955. I am giving it to my granddaughter, who will be the third generation to use it.
I found one today that has a paper label on the bottom, clearly quite old and its in pretty good condition, its a spindle chair with back bracing, rounded back, I cannot find anything online about it and not sure how to. Someone at some point put a coat of very dark stain over the piece, I plan to strip and refinish and keep it forever, I just love it!
Thank you, this was very informative! I picked up a N & S comb and brace back side chair for $15. Not a rocker but a nice solud chair. Thanks to you I know it was probably made after 1950. Every bit of info helps!
about 40 bucks? thats what you paid, if you have a regular busy seller account on a major platform we get about $400 but then minus 20% to 30% commissions and any boosted post fees and advertising costs plus our rents heat water lights , like i said we profit maybe $50 bucks at times, not an easy get rich quick scheme, people forget about business operations and costs, plus shipping @@RaymondBeedle-l2d
Thank you for this information. I bought a Nicholas and Stone rocker from a Thrift store on sale 1/2 price for $15.00. It's in good condition and now I have an approximate estimate on it's worth.
Hi Regina! I am sorry for the late reply. We do not do personal evaluations, but we can say a Nichols and Stone chair can range from a few dollars to about $300 on average, at least in our area. Best, Rachel. Thank you for watching!
@@VintageFurnitureGuide it is black, with golden stripes. Has a floral gold paint in the head. The backside verticals are very thin and appeared steamed because the have a curvature. Seems very well made. Definately a quality piece. Also, strangely, it is super comfy. Which surprised me because it doesn't have a butt pillow.
@@350streetracer I know what you mean! Those curved backs and contoured seats really make them surprisingly comfortable. Sounds like a beautiful rocker!
Just picked one up today at goodwill for $40 solid really nice nothing loose. Black color with gold highlights, pretty much looks alot like a Hitchcock. Any thoughts on the year as it's is a newer stamp.
Hi Alpha Omega, great find and goodwill cant be beat at times. Enjoy the black rocker, they made that model quite a long time, what does the stamp on the bottom look like?
I have a Boston Rocker from this company my parents owned. One of the spindles has broken off and the part got lost over the years. Would you happen to have any suggestions on how to replace the part? Thanks!
I have one from an aunt in my opinion great shape with stencils on the upper back. The bottom paper sticker ‘The Home of Windsor Chair has 69-6 on it . A circular Nicholstone All American carved in the bottom. My aunt said it was from 1937. Would that be accurate? Is that worth getting appraised? And how?
@@vickilacharite2999 could be but wouldnt make it worth any more or less..like brand new or rinished we ask about 200 to250 witmany costs..selling locally as is msybe 50 bucks
I've got one that's been in my family since the late 1950's. Do you know what wood species and finish was most likely used? It's unstained, lighter color wood.
Hi Dustin. Most likely your Nichols and Stone Rocker is maple wood, or birch. The company used quite a bit of maple and birch in the 1950s. Thanks for watching!
I found one in a garage that has good stencils and paint but is missing three back poles...Windsor Black & Gold...Would like to sell cheap to a restorer...

have one made or find another broken one and take the part, expensive to do and time consuing but if ots sentimental to you maybe.
@@VintageFurnitureGuide Yes, those were the 2 options I was thinking of. Yes, not getting rid of it, but just wanted to restore it. Thanks!

Mine has an older logo on the bottom. There is also "Red" stamped on the bottom. Does that indicate the stain color?
no just the color they used
Hi. There is a supposedly Nichols amd Stone rocking chair on the Offer Up app that has a sticker , but no makers mark. Would this be a fake?
many have just stickers, condition and tightness matter the most, enjoy!
I own a red scroll seat Nichols and Stone chair. Number on the bottom is: 686-136 Love this chair. Wonder what its value is.
whatever you can get, if flawless $300 to $500, any even slight damage $5 to $75
