    Thankyou, needed this! Just wondering now how to drain and flush coolant. I'm in belief that my head gasket has blown slightly so I'm going to try out the blue devil gasket sealer. Hopefully this helps. If anybody has knowlege on gasket sealer then please reply!

      @@Gadgit83 It went perfect thank you the thermostat hadn’t been changed around 17 years so the bolts are quite hard to get out. However got the new thermostat in and now I am warm on my car journeys to work, thank you very much and have a happy New Year

    I have a corsa 1.7 dti, and the temperature simply doesn't go up at all, even on long trips. It only goes up if the car is standing still for about 5min. Thermostat open, or could it have been actually removed by the previous owner to avoid the engine overheating if it already had such problems?

    I have a vauxhall combo van 1.3cdti and my temperature gauge doesn't seem to move. Sometimes on a very long journey it may come up to 80°c. Do you think it could be the same issue?. I was thinking maybe it's the coolant sensor?

    • @Gadgit83
      @Gadgit83  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, sounds like the problem I had. Would start with the thermostat rather than temperature sensor (I've also got a video on changing that - it's a 5 minute job!)

    Can a faulty sensor cause a no start or it to cut out while driving?

    • @Gadgit83
      @Gadgit83  4 роки тому

      Probably not a faulty temperature sensor but a fault crank or cam shaft sensor could do, or ignition coils

  • @cerepahahaha
    @cerepahahaha 3 роки тому

    Could be this the reason of no heat inside the car? A fault termostat reach very hard at 80°C (not 90) and havent enought force to heat inside?

    • @Gadgit83
      @Gadgit83  3 роки тому

      If it was stuck open, it could take a long time to heat up inside the car yes.

      @@Gadgit83 hi i solved the problem... Inlet tube was full of dirty, and this was the reason of cold air on heat mode, the fluid didnt goes through heat exchanger... After cleaning, and replace the thermostat ( 10 €) and 5 minute of work, every thing is perfect. Thank a lot

    These thermostats are flawed they cause air locks and back pressure how to combat this is to drill a 1.5mm hole in the thermostat this will allow the thermostat to function normally with no air locks
