The Last of Us, a tv series based on the critically acclaimed video game, is coming to HBO and HBOMax in 2023. Here’s everything to know so far about the cast of The Last of Us, who's behind the scenes, and more. PREMIERES JANUARY 15
What’s it about?
The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
Who’s in the cast?
Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Wonder Woman 1984) and Bella Ramsey (HBO’s His Dark Materials and Game of Thrones) will star as Joel and Ellie.
Also joining the cast are Gabriel Luna (True Detective) as Joel’s younger brother and former soldier, Tommy; Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us video games, The Flight Attendant) as resistance leader Marlene; and Anna Torv (Fringe) as Tess, a smuggler and fellow hardened survivor.
The series will guest star Nico Parker (The Third Day) as Sarah, Joel’s 14-year old daughter; Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) as Frank and Bill, two post-pandemic survivalists living alone in their own isolated town; Storm Reid (Euphoria) as Riley, an orphan in Boston; and Jeffrey Pierce (The Last of Us video games) as Perry, a rebel in a quarantine zone.
Lamar Johnson guest stars as Henry and Keivonn Woodard as Sam, brothers in Kansas City hiding from a revolutionary movement seeking vengeance.
Graham Greene guest stars as Marlon and Elaine Miles as Florence, a married couple surviving alone in the wilderness of post-apocalyptic Wyoming.

Correction: Ashley and Troy don't only voice their characters, but they motion cap them as well. It's basically full-on acting, just like Andy Serkis did for Gollum or Cesar
I loved that little girl as Lady Mormont in Game of thrones. Can't wait to see her in more movies.
Ashley is confirmed to be playing Ellies mom and also most of the games cast are in the show as well
They filmed it in my city!! The wrecked downtown part was in the actual downtown and it was super realistic and freaky!!!

I hope Ellies Mom (Ashley Johnson) has a bit of time on the screen showing how she dies (if she does) and just flesh out her chacter as we hardly know much about her. Also, I am hoping David's second in command is Troy Baker. The one who runs off the get the meds. That to me would be beautiful. The fact that the 2 main voice actors and motion captures are getting air time in the show is just amazing. Well done to Druckmann and Craig Mezin and the casting team.

As a huge TLOU fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 & 2 both masterpieces they mean so much to me. This trailer looked so amazing I cannot wait so excited. By the way we saw both Ashley Johnson(playing Ellie's mom Anna) and Troy Baker(one of David's men) in the trailer.
don't agree.... Revenge plot was pure garbage. Better story would have been never to tie the loose end at the end of the first game.
@@Hydra360ci Cry more hater. And you may want to simple down things, but the game was not just a "revenge plot" the game goes much much deeper then that. It's a masterpiece on many levels.

Josh should watch videos of the game's cutscenes to get filled in a bit; the series might hit a lot differently if he has more context! Looking forward to watching this alongside you both. I loved the first game in the series so much!

This looks really good surprisingly. I'm assuming the cut stuff is the characters they are going to run into like the Native American characters.
The show is basically the first Last of Us game then because of what we saw from the trailer
yes that was ashley johnson and troy baker also shows up in the trailer as one of davids men yes im glad u noticed em hihi. shes playing ellies mom, its a flashback. yeh they showed runner and stalker too. im soo excited love both games and stories. yeh it was suppose to be 10 now its 9 bc the initial director left the show. theres so many scenes in the trailer that look exaclty like the game. and exaclty agree bella ramsey character in game of thorne was also sassy and badass so im sure she will do a wonderful job here
About the music choice, it is a very big (albeit very missable) part of the story in the last of us 2.
It's amazing and can't wait for it to be here and idk if it's gonna be like the walking dead each episode comes out each week or all at once whatever they do I will be watching it all
The last of us changed my life the game I still play it n the last of us part two hopefully the do that as a second season then make more seasons instead of the game or make more seasons then base the third game off it and love that Ashley is the mother of Ellie awesome.
To me being a big fan this is gonna be most likely the most amazing and talked about series and it comes out after the walking dead ends so now we only have this to watch besides the spin offs but so excited

Please accuse me for saying, but I hope they change Sam and Henry's outcome in the tv series. I love pt1 and pt2. But it'll be difficult to watch Sam and Henry again uf they hild true to the game. Can't wait till Jan 15th!!!!

Play the game before you watch this show. I can guarantee it will provide some insight. Or at least watch someone play them . I hope this show will be good but I have a suspension it won't be as good as the games but like I said, I hope not. I hope this shit is gonna be fucking epic,atheist the trailer suggest so.
