- Ruth Emmanuella Davies (born 24 March 1965), known professionally as Rudi Davies, is an English actress, the daughter of Alan Sharp (1934-2013) and the writer, Dame Beryl Bainbridge (1932-2010).
Davies began her acting career as Penny Lewis in the BBC school drama, Grange Hill. She appeared there from 1979 to 1982. She did not return for Series 4, due to filming Forever Young. Her character was written out, stated to have had a horse riding accident offscreen. She reappeared, alongside the rest of the original cast, in a single episode of Series 5.
She appeared opposite David Thewlis in Resurrected (1989), and appeared in A Sense of Guilt. She later was cast in The Object of Beauty (1991) alongside John Malkovich and Andie MacDowell which received a lukewarm reception from critics, and the 1995 film Frankie Starlight.

@@BuzzingRocks Your not the first to say this,lol, but I just love old style stuff, as it is built to last, and looks better in my view, I still have my 1977 Atari 2600 Woody, and my 1974 Mk3 Ford Cortina (I bought when I was just 12 years old, while at Stage School) , LP's, Audio Cassettes, BETA/VHS Tapes, and Olympus OM10 35mm Film Camera, and my daily use car is 25 years old, on the modern side I do have an 8 year old lap top, and Panasonic V380 Video camera, but must admit I still prefer the big shoulder mounted Hitatchi VHS Video Camera from the 1980's lol. that still works, while the Panasonic has developed faults!, despite being much newer and with far less use, it got damp due to rain, but so did my Hitachi once, and it still worked after, and my old Nokia phone has been dropped and under water at least 6 times and still works, thus I prefer old stuff the quality was just so much better on stuff made years ago.
Rudi or Ruth Davies had played Penny Lewis on Grange Hill from 1979 to 1981 is series 2 to 4 on BBC1. It’s the old Grange Hill school 🏫 in London. It was theme 1. 👍👍
