This is a good temporary solution but the real solution is to get the new oversized Traxxas carriers. Same part number as before with an x at the end. Uses the same size bearings as the RPM ones but aren't soft and bendy so they actually hold up
This is the craziest video for the following reason. Picked me up a Xmaxx yesterday ran it hard, looked it over and saw the ring came off then boom this video today…
Traxxas recently came out with larger bearing carriers, front and rear. Same size as the RPM's. 7752X and 7737X. I use them with the RPM bearings since Traxxas bearings were out of stock.
The rear rpm work great the front rpm bearing carrier have an issue where the pin goes thru it pulls out on landing as the plastics to soft I wouldn’t recommend replacing the front with rpm rather traxxas aluminum upgrades better in my opinion and rpm says if you jump over 2 feet high your lifetime warranty is void on there products 🤷🏻♂️ cool video 👍
I recently swapped the hub carriers on my xmaxx with rpm all the way around. Rears work great but the fronts have a firm fit on the mounts. They do not move smoothly when turning. Gonna swap the rpm front to the Traxxas brand that accommodate the oversized bearings.
OUTSOURCED RC . I have a new set of Rpm front bearing carriers that I choose not to use because of the bad experiences that I observed others having with the rpm front carriers. If you want to try out a set of the ( FRONT RPM CARRIERS) contact me with a pm and I'll be happy to send them out to you . New in the packaging . The rear rpm hubs i installed will the rpm hinge pin kit 👌 work flawlessly and i choose to use the newer Traxxas front hubs that will receive the same oversized bearings as the rpm one's. But I feel as though Traxxas plastic is not quite as flexible as rpm and thus providing > more durable front hubs than the oversized rpm hubs. Just wanted to explain why I didn't use the f, rpms hubs. As always keep up the great videos, your one of my top three favorite among the rc U-tubers, you always keep it real 💯 real.. always honest reviews and info. ENOUGH FOR NOW. Smile awhile > "GET OUT THERE AND RIP IT"
Nice video man. I don't have an XMaxx, but repair videos are usually interesting for me. It's been soggy here too in the Pacific NW. I've been running the crawler more lately and got some decent rocks in my garage. They're big enough to be heavy, but still be lifted. They're also heavy enough to stay put when the RC drives over them and I can rearrange them for new challenges. It did dry out enough for me to try the ramp I made from your video. I used a welding rod similar to your method for getting the ramp curve. It worked so damn well, thanks for doing that video however long ago it has been. I made my final angle 35 degrees, and if I make a 6" riser for the front, it becomes 45 degrees.
I just got a lime green x maxx the other day. I had it in the pasture today and hit a hardened cow turd and man it cartwheeled for what felt like forever.
You ought to try the duratrax lockup’s x I really had a hard time switching from stock because was very comfortable with them … but after installing the max 6 at punch 3 these tires are perfect just takes some getting use to they hold up better than stock … thanks for vid and seems someone found front oversized carriers part is 7737x 👍👍👍
U can buy a little gun on Amazon for getting the grease in. It’s designed for a bicycle. Works great, it has a very fine point. Also, I have the rpm front hubs, I haven’t had n issue with mine but I know plenty of people who did and they upgraded again to an aluminum one. Atomic I think.
No worth trying to replace the dust covers on bearings and the metal ones will never go back in. You can clean the bearing with some carb and choke cleaner then just turn the bearing around so the open side faces to the center of the carrier. Also with the nylon dust shields on your new bearings you can remove them from time to time and clean your bearings. There are some cleaning bottles that work good if you search roller skate bearing cleaners. Love your content!
Good vid man. I actually run my clips in between my bearing and hex. I was a little tipsy one night took it all apart and couldn't be bothered to look in the manual. I didnt like smooching it in between my wheel and hex. If you look there is two groves in hub. I wonder who is rite. Probably you! 😆🤣 but now l have to look at my manual. Have a goodnight outsourced ✌. Glad to see a new vid
I’m stuck right now because I don’t know if I should get a r revo 2.0 or the maxx v2. I already have 1 of the 2 batteries for the e revo but I don’t have a 4s for a maxx so either way I would have to get a new battery. So which one would you recommend, e Revo 2.0 or maxx v2
The rpm front Knuckles are to soft for the king pin it rips thru traxxas makes a set now for the front that has those oversized bearings in them amd the better than the rpm ones in this case
Mine went up within ten minutes of out of the box on my 8s.. its not a huge deal BUT for the cost of a x max 8s I feel I shouldn't have to worry about silly things like this. Think about it 10 minutes out of the box and on Amazon buying parts having to wait for delivery then spend time to do it... we all know rc bashing =$%!@÷= buying and building, but not 10 minutes out of box in a flat parking lot.. Then few days of running it, it would not turn and I couldn't figure out why!! I would pick it up it would turn. Well the steering arm would bend when in dirt n grass but not carpet or the road.. replace bearings and steering arm to a aluminum one as soon as you buy this truck otherwise its badasssss
RPM front steering carrier for the xmaxx, if Amain hobby doesn't have them, try RC Hobby Explosion. They carry alot of xmaxx parts that Amain doesn't have in stock !!!!
It’s a good thing you didn’t get the Front RPMs they are terrible, rears are perfectly fine. Traxxas now makes front and rear oversized bearing carriers. Check for part #7737X for the front make sure the X is at the end otherwise you’ll get the smaller bearing version. 7752x for rear.
Why are you asking for the esc at this video? It’s got nothing to do with the bearings, hubs or drivetrain 🤔. There are quite few guys going with the stock for years, but depends on your your expectations and style of driving! A max6 is the way to upgrade if you want more powah and better throttle control 👍🏻
I actually forgot i commented this Lol thank you guys for the response To clarify i had heard nightmares about the esc on these things and due to the supply shortage i was worried it would go and id be stuck with nothing for months
I don't normally do top 10's or year end type videos. I find that they are just repeating what has already been said earlier in the year most of the time. That being said, I have a year end video planned lol
This is a good temporary solution but the real solution is to get the new oversized Traxxas carriers. Same part number as before with an x at the end. Uses the same size bearings as the RPM ones but aren't soft and bendy so they actually hold up
Yeah I didnt know they were a thing. No one has said anything about them.
This is the craziest video for the following reason. Picked me up a Xmaxx yesterday ran it hard, looked it over and saw the ring came off then boom this video today…
Lol its like I was watching you.
Traxxas recently came out with larger bearing carriers, front and rear. Same size as the RPM's. 7752X and 7737X. I use them with the RPM bearings since Traxxas bearings were out of stock.
Thank you for the part numbers I just ordered the fronts I didn't know they had those. I already have the RPM rears.
Yeah I just found out about them. I'm ordering them.

I didn’t have any problems rebuilding and greasing my Traxxas bearings in my trx4 and my rustler 4x4. But of course I am mechanically inclined.

I'm actually getting the Traxxas ones.

Thats so awesome. I'm glad my video helped you out.
I just got a lime green x maxx the other day. I had it in the pasture today and hit a hardened cow turd and man it cartwheeled for what felt like forever.
lol I've done that
I did aluminum for the front,RPM carriers rear. Not a problem yet!

Great video.. Thanks for the information..I never knew that..
I hope they come with a wide xmax soon.... The wfo kit is 600 bones!!

Yup you are right
lol I actually put it back together wrong at one point also.
I personally like the E Revo better. Even with the widemaxx kit. The maxx is a fun truck, but if I get a choice, I'm going E Revo.
good content, keep up the good work
Thanks!
The rpm front Knuckles are to soft for the king pin it rips thru traxxas makes a set now for the front that has those oversized bearings in them amd the better than the rpm ones in this case
Yeah I just found that out.
U need more subscribers your very underated much love have a good day
Thanks! I'm trying

What exactly causes this? Im not sure if you explained in the video but I apologize if you did
Great video
I just left it spinning on drive shaft. I knew what it was. I even have new bearings but I just keep it spinning. One day I'll swap out ha
Mine has been like this for months lol
Get the Traxxas oversized carriers ! For the front .
As a new x maxx owner
Thanks for the info
Something to look out for
Have you had to change the esc or anything
Why are you asking for the esc at this video? It’s got nothing to do with the bearings, hubs or drivetrain 🤔. There are quite few guys going with the stock for years, but depends on your your expectations and style of driving! A max6 is the way to upgrade if you want more powah and better throttle control 👍🏻
No I have the stock electronics. I think because I use stock Traxxas batteries and electronics and tires and gearing.
I actually forgot i commented this
Lol thank you guys for the response
To clarify i had heard nightmares about the esc on these things and due to the supply shortage i was worried it would go and id be stuck with nothing for months
Why on earth didn't they lube them? Would people know that before installing them?
It gives a little note. I'm not sure why they don't lube them.
Hobbytown has the front carriers in stock online.
Fyi
A Subscriber
I actually have some now.
Don’t get the rpm for front they flex out and destroy pin holes , get traxxas 7737x
That mean u just did ur first run with xmaxx!!!
Hey man I had a question. Do you think the e revo 2.0 needs a motor fan? Mine is all stock.
Mine doesn't. I have never had it over heat.
You should do top 10 most durable rc cars 2021 video
I don't normally do top 10's or year end type videos. I find that they are just repeating what has already been said earlier in the year most of the time. That being said, I have a year end video planned lol
@@outsourcedrc lol great video man
yeah i was wondering what that is
Don't buy the rpm fronts, traxxas makes plastic front hubs that have bigger bearings, hardcore rc has a video
mine came off after its second run lol 👍👍
geez!
😊
Do not buy rpm fronts
