It works on adults too. But an important step was missing: knees up and rock side to side.

25 years ago i tried part of this instinctively. I didn't do the tummy rubs, just the leg manuvers. It helped 100%. We even had a little chant to go along. "Run run run, get those toots out" good memories. I imagine the belly rubs first would elevate the experience. Lucky baby.❤

The belly rubs help to stimulate the digestive system. This moves everything in the right direction, hence the relief.

Yas! It’s a play on the I love you massage. They even say if it doesn’t work for you alone just work on it customizing it to suit your specific baby’s liking.
Wish I had seen this when I had my cholic bound and no doubt gassy too, baby. There is only so much gripe water will do. This is a beautiful, loving and potenitally successful for many babies. Double thumbs up!!
A nurse taught me that and my family would have me come to see them just to get me to do this w their babies when gassy or constipated.😂 Pre-social media.

Yep, I learned this from a midwife 25 years ago when I had my son. Also, baby massage is very common in the east. But good for him doing it and for putting it out there for the less well-informed to learn from.

Yeah nobody ever told me about the leg stretch either. Really could have done with this video when my (nearly 1 year old) baby was a newborn. Oh well, I'll keep this in the memory bank for if I ever decide to have another one 👍
always worked for my babies without the leg stretch, but hey maybe it works even better haha.
I've been blown out of the room by just massaging the belly, bringing the parted knees up to the chest, and with slower "bicycle legs". I've stretched the legs a couple of times with my niece, but I didn't notice any difference in a positive way. She cried the two times I did gently stretch her legs, but was fine to stretch them on her own after the gas was gone.
She likes "bicycle legs", otherwise, likes being curled up, gassy or not, so maybe that's why.
A warm wet wash cloth, wrapped in a slightly thicker cloth on the belly, and the baby wrapped in a light blanket,and held against my chest or across my lap on their stomach,
has sometimes worked just as quickly for a bad stomach ache.

The amount of times I hope for poopy diapers is astonishing. I always tell my baby give mama a good one. The flip side is a crying baby with a belly ache and we definitely don't want that.

I actually do that with my dogs too if they have gassy issues. It works on them as well. I remember the first time I did this on my pitbull.. It almost gassed me out of the room and the look on his face was priceless... he had about two minutes of zoomies afterwards.... lol
