    The Perfectionists Folly:
    1. You envision a new idea
    2. You evaluate the new idea, pridefully justifying its characteristics, failing to see its conceptual flaws, and overestimating its merit
    3. You translate the idea into reality, noticing unforeseen flaws which dash your optimistic expectations
    4. Depression sets in. You give up or try to fix it in the wrong way. You become obsessed with details, trying to bring back the euphoria you felt when you conceived of it.

    Very True…

Thank you for this video. I needed to hear it this week. I am developing my first videogame and I spend so much time tweaking the artwork of the two areas I have created, that I don't spend time making all the many other things I need to make. Some days I hate my artwork, and some days I'm pleased with it. Some days I'll spend hours just adding something new to it, or even redoing parts of it. Some days I think "I am not good enough, so why bother?". I'll reflect on your advice when I get stuck in all these traps. Thank you.

I love this concept. I had never heard of it until Sam Hyde was talking about it and how the "perfect is the enemy of good" or something like that. He also talked about outcome independence, that's a really powerful idea as well.

Can't believe I'm the only comment. This video is like finding a million dollars on the floor.
