I went to see this poppy field in 2019 because I saw it on insta. When I got there I saw dozens of people taking selfies and all the flowers trampled over. It was honestly really sad

Not because of being trampled but becuase you can get a rag and rub it on the plant until the rag is brown and filter it out and smoke it lol. They don’t want people getting high lol that’s the only reason.

We should walk and do as we want that isn’t breaking the law idk what law protects flowers over the rights of a citizen but also even if they do get trampled they will just grown back like when the Buffalo roamed American they would trample and eat the grass and then it re grow

They do that to bluebonnets here in Texas. Sadly, the bluebonnets seeds that don't fall naturally do not germinate. A house across from me had a patch full about five years ago. Their young ones began playing in them and after a few years, they do not bloom anymore☹️
Another flower like this to look at is the Drooping Trillium, its a beautiful white 3 petaled flower that is very fragile and picking or damaging the flower in anyway prevents it from generating a new flower the next year and effectively kills the plant
This happens around where I live. Farmers grow canola and it blooms really nice bright yellow flowers that cover the whole field. People will just walk out not thinking about the damage to the farmers crops all for a picture.
Im lucky I got my own wild poppies growing in my yard. Last year I saw it grow for the first time so I was surprised. One of the poppies got picked off my yard by someone deliberately so I was upset. When the poppies lived its life, I grabbed it's seeds and spread it throughout my yard. Now I'm getting my own super bloom as spring is coming. It's starting to sprout.

I worked in Lake Elsinore in 2019 and it was a beautiful sight driving through that valley of poppy fields, but there was a lot of people pulling over on the freeway just to take pictures. Stop taking pictures and just use your eyes to enjoy the beauty!
If it's gotten so bad that the flowers stopped blooming you've got more to worry about than flower tourists. California fields used to bloom every year when I lived there long long ago. It was paradise. It's not anymore if the flowers can't bloom.

If a plant is not native to your area it can become invasive and that’s why your neighbors told you to get rid of them. They were afraid that your wild flowers would choke out the nutrients to their natural flowers.

I was privileged enough to have them grow in my yard when living in Robert Lee. The lawn mowing guys I hired always mowed around them

There’s only so many poppies and only for 1-2 weeks. We’re stuck with 8 BILLION humans and counting.
