I'm still on a CB. Have one in the truck and one at home. Have a big cb aerial and a 360degree moving one aswell. Lots of activity on Fridays at around 1am.
Hi George we used them on all the tractors in the 1970’s they became really useful across all 6000 acres of the farm. Good for emergencies, help and chit chat
Fantastic George we still use cbs in the wagons to communicate with loading shovel drivers to keep weights right on the walking floor trailers when loading wood chip,👍I think your handle should be “Sod Buster” have fun with it mate, keep well to the left and your mirrors clean, catch ya on the flip cmon 😂👍🤟
That's some horn you got there, George mate! Proper loud too... truck style two tone. Not one over the other but both tones together. Frightened she too, you naughty man! I love JCB Fastracs too, incredible piece of kit. Your CB Handle would be; Fastrac170. Ideal. Regards
Your CB handle could be “Geo-JCB” - Geo for George which means “farmer” …..that’s not bad. Or “Geo-t dub” for use when your in the tw. I’ve had an interesting evening looking up all the old CB talking slang!! All because of your vid George!
We jus fitted this exact model in both our fendts for when we muck cart together and bale, cheap option but handy to warn of oncoming obstacles to each other and baler problems in the field 😬
Hi George , I myself was on CBS’s a lot of years ago , I think ( Low flyer ) as long as you don’t take off. You stay safe and well and take care of yourself.🚜🚜🚜👀.
Ha love the horn, the CB's are still very popular here in Western Australia nearly every truck has them in, alot of 4x4s have them in too including me, when out in the bush phone coverage can be an issue, I think Lee's Tee dub sounds good for ya handle
Awsome I remember the days had to swerve the cb in to ground it when used as base unit the good old days as for angle farmer boy. Mr fasttrax. Bail king
Evening George you had me in fits off laughter brilliant 👏 haven't cb's come along way I've got a midland cb I thought mine was small but yours is way smaller-- the cb I'm on about lol ch9 is emergency ch19 is pretty much the main truckers ch. What about Big yellow
Good stuff george remember the days installing them in trucks I take it you have done the swr on the antenna to stop overloading the radio, cb ham radio this way enjoy.
What about Torque Wrench or The Spanner Man.Got to say you don't look abit like Kris Kristofferson but ahold plated Duck on the bonnet would look pretty cool 🦆
Be careful George you might get something extra in your tea, making Liz jump like that! Lord Muck would I'm sure love the pleasure of giving you a handle, otherwise as already suggested I'm thinking "Straight Pipe".
If you adjust the VSWR on the antenna it’ll work much better and also you won’t damage your radio. I have a T-3000 they’re good I also did a review on it when it first came out. 😎😎 I have a CB in my bulldozer I’m always on channel 19 in Basildon, Essex.
Handle has to be JCB GEORGE. Do you have to match the aerial to the rig these days? Used to have connect a SWR meter in the aerial line and adjust the length of aerial to get the best signal. I went on CB when it became legal on FM in 1979 with the handle 'DRUMWRAP' (yes I worked on combines). It was crowded those days, everyone was on it. Channel 14 was the main one, truckers used 19, channel 9 was for emergencies. Ideal for farm use for short distances (3 to 4 mile radius), Choose a quiet channel and all stick to that and its as good as 2 way radio. Avoid anyone with the handle SHADY LADY, they are usually looking for mischief. (wink wink nudge nudge). Have a listen to Convoy by C W McCALL. Bound to be on you tube somewhere.
CB was well into it in early 80s when it was well active, we used chan 27 then went to 14 breaker chan and 19 trucker chan you should have a good range just speak normal haha good buddie, how about fastrack nice one George
Spent the past few days kitting out our New Hollands with 2nd hand two-way Taits/Motorolas. Routing the cable from the antenna was a nightmare. Need hands like a baby.
Was just gonna ask if the aerial and the set tune in automatically now because we always used a swr meter to get the reading as close to one as possible checked on channel 1 and channel 40👍 been said before but handle gotta be TDUB or fastrac 👍
In the old days we used to faff about adjusting the aerial with a meter attached. I guess you don't need to do that now. How about " Fast track George" as handle?.
So according to the CB generator website...your handle is godfather scuttlebutt 😂.....howdy folks, godfather scuttlebutt receiving loud and clear haha.
Cb should work well in there as should not get too much noise from ecu s fly by wire throttle etc trouble is nowadays all the electrical noise stops you receiving signals lower than signal 7 hence why the uhf two ways work better as dont get effected with the noise. quite a lot up here are using pmr 446 radios now i have both in my fastrac
We often check the CB and range check at the same time. You ask, "Radio check at Crossroads". And a response might be, "Got you clear at 5 Mile" Two made up locations. 😉 How about "Zipper" in honor of your fish. ✌
"T DUB" for your handle George 👍
Was coming to be my suggestion 👍
you need to use a swr meter to tune it in that will make a massive difference.
“Tee dub” should be your handle
Bollock1 sounds better
Think lord muck needs to come up with the handle
Just what I was thinking! 😂😂😂😂
Good stuff Liz and George, I think Kurt is the only one qualified to give You a cb handle, over and out Rubber Duck👌👍👍😎
I'm still on a CB. Have one in the truck and one at home. Have a big cb aerial and a 360degree moving one aswell. Lots of activity on Fridays at around 1am.
