This man just vaulted a bar that had his name on it. No other way to break a WR.
Is it the brand of the bar? Just for my information 😁
The track is mondo too. Just coincidence.
@@fanatic1992 It's like basically the brand of most tracks and arenas that World Athletics are using to host their global championships. I think it can be found in Diamond Leagues too.
When you are so good that they name stuff after you...
Seriously, Mondo is a top brand of athletic equipment, but still an appropriate comment. Sponsorship deal?
@@timn4481 IIRC his Dad pole vaulted to, so maybe he is named after it? Would be a bit weird, but I could see it
God it wasnt too long ago that just vaulting over 6m was considered the Holy Grail. Not only does Mondo do it for fun, he does this as well! Amazing
Incredible Mondo, rules the El Mondo... We really appreciate all the KIND words from the commentator, us Serbians are special sort of people, but great hosts, that's for sure... Greetings from Belgrade 😀
Hello. Do you know the name of the song that was played in front of the arena in Belgrade? Something with run in it about athletics.
Pole Vaulters are underrated as athletes. This achievement is every bit as phenomenal as the feats of Michael Jordan's or Tom Brady.
why do people have to make such absurd comparisons?
They're more like performance athletes with some artistic talent. That jump was crazy in the last 1/3 of it.
@@giorgosK936 Because the events are different. Usain Bolt claimed he was the greatest Olympian of all time. Just cannot agree. Agreed, literally with no equal at short distance running, but athletics is not just all about short distance running.
@@malcolmabram2957 your comment makes no sense
The fact that everyone was expecting this to happen in any moment like a casual thing and yet we're still expecting him to do it again is so insane. I hope he will read my comment haha
Yessir
Not only did Mondo jump over 6 meters in all the competitions he participated in this indoor season, but he also improved his season-best (and world-leading) with each competition, crowning the season by beating his own World Record twice and winning the World Champion title. This is insane!
Mondo probably has vaulted 6.30 in training. He's just making sure to get paid at every cm by WA. And why not, he deserves it .
I wouldn't be surprised if it was 6.40. some of his jumps last season were so clear of the bar. Next level of pole vault is here
they dont go high in training
Mondo's high point looks over 6.30 on this jump. But I tend to minus a few cms off of the high point allowing for the descent brushing bar on the way down etc. But Mondo Will put another 10-15cm on this record during his career
@@jimgukful yes clearance of the hips over the bar at peak point is over rated, watch the legs arms chest thats where the body hits the bar the most.
That wouldn't surprise me at all. Bubka broke his own record like 20 times or something - bumping it up a cm or two each time. Keeps the drama higher and sponsors excited.
I’m more impressed by his leap over the photographers afterwards lol. Glad he didn’t get injured doing that
I was thinking the same.
I would highly advise Mondo to stop doing that. He could easily hurt a knee or sustain some other leg injury by doing a leap like that. Since he will most likely to take the record up 1 cm at a time, he will have other opportunities to make a leap like this. He needs to calm down.
@@davidzuk4894 It's not easy when everything goes your way, but you're right.
this guy pole vaults 20 feet i'm sure hell be fine. you don't do that without being ridiculously coordinated
@@anthonyamodio9995 fluke injuries happen with less dangerous stunts though. hard to land back on a track in spikes from such plyometric explosive jump like that, could roll an ankle easily
In 2013, Bubka's 6.15 had been standing for two decades. If you told me the record would be beaten by 8cm in 10 years, I'll laugh in your face.
Then...
Renaud Lavillenie 6.16 2014
Mondo Duplantis 6.17 2020
Mondo Duplantis 6.18 2020
Mondo Duplantis 6.19 2022
Mondo Duplantis 6.20 2022
Mondo Duplantis 6.21 2022
Mondo Duplantis 6.22 2023
Women's Yelena Isinbayeva record of 5.04 still stands since 2009. But yea, Mondo is amazing also!
@@jimm4260 bruh who gives a shit about the women’s record when the men’s record is more than a meter taller..
@@user-ox5ir2rd6g Uh, watch them jump and if you still ask that question, then we're just different.
@@jimm4260 He's an admirer of raw performance while you are more into the sport, nothing unusual.

Mondo single handedly sparked my interest in Pole Vaulting.
Me too, Dude. Me too.
Me also. He's my favorite Olympian
Look how perfect the stats are for Mondo
6.15 WR Outdoor 6.20 WR Indoor
He is an awesome athlete and he is only 22, I have been impressed many congratulations to him.
It also reminds me Timothée Chalamet...
Prison " you cant escape these 6m20 walls"
Duplantis "hold my 🍺"
Duplantis has broken his own world record five times, he's one of only 3 men to have ever cleared 6.1m, and the only person in history to have cleared 6.2m, the dude is the absolute GOAT of the pole vault and he's only 23.
That was such an energetic moment! What a perfect way to end the championships.
And look how high he actually went over the bar!
The magic of his vaults is stunning! Living vicariously through them is a true rush.
2 weeks ago I was hoping he could reach one day the symbolic 6.20 bar, hoping it would happen within like 1 or 2 years.
The guy is just breaking world every week, this is ridiculous
He's simply unstoppable 🙌🏽🔥🔥
Mythical athlete forever and ever
WR for Pole vault magician in magical Belgrade! Armand 🤴.
G.O.A.T.
he's done it again - new world record 6.21m! the 🐐 of pole vault
Welp ua-cam.com/video/WtuvEuPbVVs/v-deo.html
If he goes any higher I'm going to have an anxiety attack. 😲😲
That shit was poetical
Perfect jump and new world record.
After great Bubka Mondo is measuring new heights.
"Insuperável". Supremacia absoluta! 👏👏👏
He is so inspiring🥂
Truly admire him. What a legend
Born to fly 🤩👏🥇
Yeah, not only was his dad a pole vaulter, so was his maternal grandfather. As he was active 60+ years the heights are on another level but he was really good for his time. So yeah, pole vaulting is in his blood on both parents' sides.
Jednom riječju BRAVO,,,,,,,,,,,,,👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When I see Mondo Duplantis the feeling is ecstatic bcoz you know what is coming next is another record
Making Louisiana proud!!
Congratulazioni... bravissimo

Well, as it turns out red bull really gives you wings. Just unstoppable.
Poetry in motion. Brilliant
they played the swedish anthem 'levels' right after
This is fucking amazing. Congrats Mondo!
Increíble!
And he's done it again
Amazing 👍🤸♂
He breaks it AGAIN today.
And now I cross my fingers for another good this week 🥇🇸🇪

Bad dude i love it
He did it again, 6.21 🤯
Phenomenal..this performance can b equalled to Satomayor's record.beyond human capabilities
Fuyooo Congratulations
I can't believe
Historical
God tier
What's the name of the last song? Also it was a song that was played in front of the arena. Something with run in itn about athletics. Do you know the name of that too?
Bro where’s the full competition tho
wow! he has the speed that others dont have i think.
That was a mondo jump for sure.
Full credit to the announcer!
Hope they gonna make medal for *WORLD RECORD* breaking. *WR* is not something that everyone can achieve.
I've been there. Amazing experience.
Really?
I drive a 10m high crane. I was at 6.2m today and I promise you with 8 tons of truck under you it doesn't feel great. He just done that with a 3 inch wide stick. Legend.
incroyable PPFF
Монстр!
How long is the pole?
สุดยอดมาก
He is super human
ARISE" SKYBIRD" MONDO DUPLANTIS🙂well done🤘
The cross bar is at least 4ft. above the pole.........speechless.
Malmsteen rules
wow
I actually kinda feel sorry for other pole athletes, there's no way to the top with Mondo on it😆 and from the looks of it he ain't going down only higher up, incredible!
There is large room for improvement by climbing more with the other hand. 6.5M is surely possible do for him.
I saw bubka break the record in sweden, now there is a swede smashing his records to bits. i think he can clear 6,30
From the height of his arches at a few meets last season I wonder if he"s broken 6.40 in training.
His arch was close to that here I believe at least 6.30, it's on the way down he's brushed the bar off at times
🇸🇪 🇺🇸
That was 650.
25cm higher then second place 🥈
LSU product! #SEC
Lmao you wish, all the NCAA did was slow him down.
Auburn, you are wrong. His dad's back yard product.Been vaulting since 3 years of age
If he goes any higher, he’s gonna need a parachute.
He makes it look it so Easy... XD
he has been vaulting for 19 years
Wow! EJ MUST be here....PATAFA kasalanan nyu ito...what a shame PATAFA
630cm easy in the future. Awosome guy. King.
Mondo = kongen av stavspranget!
I don’t know if you’re supposed to be writing in Swedish but if you are then the sentence is way off, its ”kungen av stavhopp”.
@@MelinaJamiee Tusen takk. Norsk språk.
Faceplantis
Good dude and surely he will up this record but should be jumping for USA
Fortet it!
Forget it!
We definitely have a New Sergueï buka
Look at his high point. That's 6.35m to 6.40m...
Correction. That's easily 6.40m
6.30...
Ayo who tf made this sport
They could have put a pigeon on that bar and he wouldn't have touched it. The guy is absurd.
6.28 is the point he will end up imo…
Guess what just happend...
I do this everyday in Ohio
Who would think that this man jumps above all and isn't even at men category
Wyd
Wdym
@@denniseriksson3883 officially men are 23 years of age and above....
He was going 30 cm over 6.10 Heights in 2020. 6.20m seems a bit disappointing to be honest. In 2020 it looked like 6.30m was just around the corner..
Bad business move going straight to 6.30, do every height in between and get paid
Horrible announcer Wow
Ну и чего они как сумашедшие радуются? Если бы Бубка после каждого своего рекорда так себя вел, закончил бы в психбольнице
Bcs 6.20>6.15. And this is his the fifth world record. And the second in last two weeks. And he is still 22 y.o.
Bubka set 17 world records in 122 months (7.18 months per record). Duplantis has set 4 in 25 months (6.25 months per record). He's doing it at a higher frequency. It will be hard to break it 13 more times, strictly anatomically and physics-wise. But when it's all said and done, there's little doubt he will have had just as good a career as Bubka, and likely an even better one.
He's making a big progress in short span of time, at young age at that. The rejoices are understandable.
