- we are going drag racing at I29 dragway in pacific junction ia. first time for the s-10 with the v8, and the first time ever for the rwd converted 2006 monte carlo known as project frankenstein.
its been a long hard journey to this point, and hopefully it was all worth it. thanks for watching and subscribing everyone.
my 1993 s10 aka "project blackie" is being built cheveefarmer style, from the weeds to the drag strip.
i am installing a 406 small block chevrolet engine backed by a 4l80E overdrive transmission, 9" ford rear end. plans are to drive this truck to the track and drag race it, hitting the 9 second range is the goal.
the 06 montecarlo is now rear wheel drive, via an aluminum block 5.3 ls, backed by a 4l80e transmission, and a 8.8 mustang rear axle.

Wow man looks like tons of fun.Don’t be discouraged at all Farmer you did good.No one bust azz bringing out A whole new ride. When you get it dialed in OMG the beast will unleash. She is close man just A carb adjustments.830 always seemed to be the normal for A 400sbc.850 in the weather I would love to be there and learn from it.We always ran 750 on street and 830 at the track.Watched my uncle tinker so many times with his 850’s.Always just A bit big.Looks like the truck squats nice in the rear.Thank for the great video.
thanks, going back again with it, somethings not quite right with it, hope the cam isnt going flat... its new so lots to figure out on it yet. thanks for watching
Was waiting for this video! love seeing the progress on the monte
thanks, still more to come on it
Amazing with the monte
thanks!
More sit time and lose ends to tie up great view brother
for sure, thanks for watching
Nice 👍🏼🙂 seems like you need a little more stall and gear on the monte... Still an awesome build ✌🏼
oh yeah, 1/8 mile racing and street driving are very different worlds, gear and stall wise, its either too low one way or too high the other. just needs a little nitrous to cure the bogs, LOL
2800 RPM TSI converter 373 gears probably need a 4500 RPM stall and 513 gears to really get that little 5.3 more in it's RPM range. But want to keep it more a street car so hopefully a small shot of nitrous will help it get in it's RPM range faster. I have a 6.0 aluminum block engine plan on putting in it later on down the road. Hopefully it will have more low speed tourqe.
That engine needs to be tuned better
thats the truth
Those are the same draglite rims I have on my monte! Good to see it running strong, keep up the good work! That Squarebody hauler sure is pretty
yeah those dragites look good on it. still needs a little tinkering to pick up some. me loves my ramp truck, LOL
So what were your times on the monte???
it was in the 8's if i remember right. i think it was shown in the vid? i was not doing the videoing so i do not remember exactly what it ran?
