Salute to all the guitar girls and also to the backing musicians who relentlessly keeping up the pace with multiple guitarist on stage: the bassist AZU (Cyntia) and drummer Murata Tamu, who was still a solo drummer this time, 5 months prior to the formation of NEMOPHILA, team up with the WORLD GUITAR GIRLS COLLECTION leader, SAKI of Mary's Blood.
The one to watch was the all star ending of Naon Yaon 2018. Hal-ca from Asterism upstaged her elders. Unfortunately, the video is no longer on YT. Show-ya have always been great about nurturing the young talent. They try to give at least one young guitarist some exposure each year. 2017 was Li-Sa-X, 2018 was Hal-ca, 2019 was Sakura Yoshida.
I love SAKI and AYUMI so much. Ayumi looks so young here even though it's only a few years ago. she and Saki just put so much emotion into their playing like a fusion of blues and rock. I love their tone and overall sound, always good to hear and watch. Beautiful. I enjoy the others as well but for me Ayumi and Saki stand out.
Saki (middle) is the organizer. At they time she was in Mary' Blood. Starting Stage Right: Yashiro: all in white - Free lance, 2ND guitar for Mary's Blood at live performances, Instructor at the Tokyo School of Music Marin Miyazawa - from Lovendor, left band in 2019. Saki - now with Nemophila Sakura Yoshida - from Hagane, protege check her YT channel and her cover/shred of Dragon Force Ayumi - From Bridear, As shown She is a shredder! The band toured the UK last year. I prefer this shredding show to 2017. There are least 2 more of these shows but they were indoors.
Thank you for the information. I just left a question on the 2017 show, but not important. I believe I’ve heard all of these talented women before, but don’t know all of the relationships. I understand Hazuki (Nemophila) plays with Li-SA-X and they are not disbanded, but about to play a few more concerts together. Of course Saki (Nemophila) was a member of Destrose with Haruna (drummer Lovebites) and Miho (former bass guitarist of Lovebites). Babymetal’s EDIT WHOOPS: I meant to write Babymetal’s Takayoshi Ohmura guitarist was also an instructor, or visiting professor at the Osaka campus of (I believe Tokyo, or perhaps Japan School of music), which Midori (Lovebites) also studied at. I know there is a relationship between all of these musicians with Band-Maid, but I can’t remember it. Can you educate me on Band-Maid?
Second question, if I may be so bold? Please read first reply above to help me. Tamu Murata is/was a drum instructor at possibly one of these schools. She, like Akane (drummer Band-Maid) is sponsored by Tama drums. Mis there any relationship between the two drummers. I love both of them.
@@michelm.6033 Here goes; Miku Kobato came up with the idea of an all female band playing "cool music" (Rock) wearing maid costumes. Her agency gave her the go ahead. This was in 2013. Miku had been working in Maid Cafe, just put in Maid Cafe on search and a number of videos will come up. First was Kanami (lead guitar) who was posting on a web site for musicians to show themselves performing. The maid costume wasn't issue for her. Second was Akane (drums). Miku asked Kanami if she knew others (bass & drums) for the band. Kanmai called Akane as she had supported Kanami on her videos. Third was MISA (bass) Akane called MISA about the band, but MISA was bit tipsy so said she would call her back. Both Akane and MISA weren't thrilled about the maid costumes but said yes. Both of them were working as session/backup musician. Seen videos, they didn't look happy. At this point they began rehearsing, but 2 things came up. Miku's voice was too soft to front a rock band and they needed a rhythm guitar for a fuller sound. Miku went to her agency for input on a singer. The agency said they had someone, (Saiki) but they didn't think she would go for the Maid costume and wouldn't be able to deal with Miku. So they decided to trick her!! Siaki rehearsed with them less Miku. Telling her she would be wearing a "Cool" costume. The day before their first gig Saiki got her Maid costume and met Miku. One of the truly great moments in Rock is that Saiki did not walk out!!! She was 18 yo. Miku agreed to be the rhythm guitarist only if Kanami would be her sensei. As you can hear that Miku is very good now and Kanami is a good sensei!! Their breakout MV is "Thrill" in 2015!
@@outwest1014 That’s great information and although I went to the Dallas show, they were probably my least known group at the time. I didn’t know the Saki story so thank you. I always love the back stories in addition to band knowledge. Specifically, American bands go on their own projects and frequently don’t speak highly of former band mates. That appears to be the exact opposite of Japanese bands. Yes it’s an extremely respectful culture, which is refreshing. I’ve watched countless interviews of various bands speaking quite affectionately of others, and former band members. Really it’s the die hard fans in the west of any particular group that are more, “protective,” as I sometimes fault myself for. To that end, I really seek out any connections between the groups, or individuals to say something like, “they respect each other, so please keep the negativity of others to yourself.” Does this make sense? I’m not a great communicator, just a fan of everyone. Thank you for the replies.
This was my introduction to Ayumi watching this video a few yeard ago. Really liked her. Have had the pleasure of seeing her live with Bridear in Glasgow Scotalnd twice within the space of a year - October 2021 and September 2022. Great live concerts and I particularly like Ayumi's playing

In 1964 in the Cavern Club John Lennon, when introduced to The Liverbirds (we are gonna be Liverpools all gir group) said "Girls don't pay guitar!" Wel the Liverbirds went on the take Germany and most Europe by storm (not the US because the were offered a house band gig in Vegas if they would do it topless. NOPE!

Sakura Yoshida is a killer shredder. Check out her channel. She's a member of the band Hagane. They are really good. Oh...and she's the one in blue and white with a white flying V with mirror pick guard.

I loved Cyntia was so sad they disbanded becuase of Yui's hand problem
I think that is Ayano from Cyntia on keyboards. She was there in 2017 as well.
