You NAILED this man. Great stuff honestly! I'm a HUGE Pumpkins fan. I've seen them live over... Damn... 60 times (?)) since I was a teenager in the 90s and I live in the same area that Billy grew up. This is one of the most competent and spot on versions I've ever heard somebody play! It's pretty much verbatim and it was glorious! Keep it up with whomever you play and hone your craft. I['m subscribing right now.
Oh boy what I would give to be able to see one of their shows from the early 90’s aha, thanks for the words it means a lot to read such positive comments! This is one of those songs I’ve wanted to learn since I started playing guitar all those years ago and I finally got around to it
@@bukel93 Well, you did a fantastic job!! This was clearly something as you said, you've always wanted to learn and it shows. You nailed every part of this track. It's one of my favorites from the Pumpkins. Literally in my top 3. It's epic in ever sense of the word and you did it sublime justice. Keep doing what you do!
I’ve seen in the videos from 91-92 he plays this with a jag…did he record this with a jag? Easily top 3 sp songs of all time for me…been loving it since listening to pisces on cassette since ‘95
My timeline may be off but his Gish guitar was stolen around June '92 and I have always figured he started using the Jag live immediately after that in the Summer time gigs from that period and this was the Jag used to record Starla. He soon started playing Strats with Lace Sensor pick-ups which he would use up til late in the Mellon Collie tours. I've tried to play the song for many years and it wasn't until i started hammering the tremelo bar on a jag that I was able to even half imitate the sound you hear in the solo so I want to say at least the solo was recorded with a Jag but I could be wrong and it may just be a Strat.
