I really appreciate getting the perspectives from the Imoo brothers. I love watching Jungo's game, but I will not be able to physically replicate it. I won't be able to throw as hard as him, or generate nearly the same rev rate. I'm not nearly the bowler that Sean is, but his style of play is more realistic for me to attempt to replicate on the lanes. So, its nice to get his perspective on which balls work well for his game.

I have a teal pearl Rhino. it’s great for playing on dry lanes or far right in league. A very simple, consistent & predictable ball. It works for a straight spare ball too, which is a bonus.

I have both a Rhino and a Twist. I got the Twist first at 15 pounds with conventional grip. I could not get behind the ball for a good hook without some significant wrist pain, but it was solid for spares. I wanted to go lighter but when I went to the pro shop and they recommended switching to finger tip grip and a bit of a different swing. I got a Rhino 15 pounder drilled with finger tip and I absolutely love the ball. Tonight my 3 game average was 30 pins higher than my usual average. Both balls are great for beginners like myself and I recommend talking with your local pro shop about different grips and proper form to improve your game.

I bought a black rhino pro back in 1992. At the time it was top of the line. I'm still cranking it 30 years later. It's got a pretty strong reaction and incredible pin action. I see no reason to update or "upgrade" my ball, especially since I am bowling in a league for the 1st time in 20 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

@@christoph9191 not a bad ball for beginners. Hook strength is somewhere in between the Twist and the Rhino pearl, since it has a lower diff than the Rhino, but stronger than the Twist. But the shape is super controllable and you can really have it go sideways under the right circumstances.

Back in the late 1980s I had a purple Rhino. It was the only ball I used for 5-6 years. It was my first urethane ball and it worked great for strikes and spares. In about 1993 I got a purple Rhino Pro reactive. It was a great ball, but a little bit touchy on wet/dry.
Now I have a blue and silver Twist, and it really helps me get the ball downlane. It hooks too much for right side spares but I got a T-Zone for that. I also have a navy and silver pearl Rhino that is not drilled yet.

I had never cleaned my circa 1992 Black Rhino Pro until last week, a few weeks after I began my first league in 20 years. It was pretty oil saturated tbh. I wanted more hook so I dunked it in hot water and Dawn Ultra dishwashing soap, let it soak for 20 minutes, then scrubbed it, rinsed it. Then I took a 250 grit wet sanding sponge to its surface. Definitely regained a good bit of its hook. It destroys the rack when I hit it right or close to right. The pin action is incredible.

I just ordered my first bowling ball ever, 4 days ago. I have very little experience, but I'm dying to learn how to hook a bowling ball. I chose the Brunswick Rhino. I thought that it was a good entry-level ball that had abilities well beyond my skill. I could learn how to hook a ball before I stepped up to a Hammer Raw, or beyond to a performance ball. I think learning to hook a Twist or another entry-level ball would be a little tougher. I want to be able to advance to my next ball after a logical amount of time. I didn't want to outgrow my ball within a few months. I expect to try to take a little coaching right up front. That should help me improve a little quicker.

My problem is the rhino only has a core in the heavier weights. I was used a 11lbs house ball and was sold a 10lbs rhino for my first ball. But it didn't have a core. So I could never get it to hook. As I was learning and didn't know how to properly do it(and still struggle at times). So everyone watching may not realize your ball will not perform like my rhino performed. It can be deceiving to amateurs like my self.

I got the black rhino and the gold and black twist. The twist for me is a 9 pin machine. It's super clean but with the straighter angle in the fronts is just goes by the 9 pin constantly for me. Its pin up so, I think a lower pin would help me with that one. The rhino for me is fairly strong. It's in the ballpark of the hustle ink. But the rhino is very susceptible to carry down. Yes, the hustle is a solid, but it's a similar shape. And the hustle is easier to control and blends out the wet/dry better. I am very curious about that new solid rhino.. it may be the best one yet.

@@brandondriley thanks for the suggestion, but I tried that. It made it a bit too early for that spot in my bag. I wanted something high rg that gets me into the same part of the lane as urethane for shorter patters. But with just more backend. It does that perfectly, but the 9 pins are ridiculous. That's why I think the lower pin is better for that ball.. thanks bud!

As someone who mainly uses a Strike King, I'm looking for something that actually reacts less in drier conditions. I also bowl two handed but don't have the ball speed to prevent over hooking on dry lanes. I'm thinking the Twist will be a good ball to prevent over hooking.

The Strike Kings are very comparable to the newer Rhinos, so the Twist would be a good step down in performance
