Ditto, except Im white German, almost forgot I'm supposed to hate Jews and burn crosses or some shit. But, that racist shit is all a lie. You have good taste, Rickles is one of the greatest. His part in Kellys Hero's is so god damn funny still to this day. Cheers.
Race is funny. Ethnicity is funny. Because both similarities and differences between us are funny. As a WASP you can know nothing personally about the Jewish experience in America and still die laughing at all the Jewish greats. What ethnic group doesn’t have a Jewish mother, for example? Same goes for black and brown comedians who traffic in their ethnic American experience (unlike Cosby). Who doesn’t love the racial humor of Dave Chappell and Richard Prior? We need to get back to laughing with one another. Over our differences AND our similarities.
In the late 90s I asked my parent’s if they wanted to go see Don Rickles. My father immediately refused and said that he didn’t like him nor his material. My mom said yes after I encouraged her. She brought a friend instead of my dad. So it was me with three women counting my wife. As you may know Rickles, he made me the target of a series of jokes because I was at a table of four with three women. He said that I was a “Lesbian that didn’t get the memo”. After the show he came to tell me that I was a good “Sport” and wanted to know why I had “All the girls”. He asked why and I told him about my dad. He asked for me to dial him on my cell. Which I did and my dad didn’t believe him. Then Rickles began to beg my dad to believe him. To this day he doesn’t.
I want this to be true. I do believe and love the idea that if rickles really gave it to you as an audience member he'd come up after and thank you for being a good sport. He made fun of everyone and hated noone
I've had the Blessed opportunity to meet Don Rickles in person at his home in his kitchen. After his wife introduced me his response was well I didn't think I'd have to fucking meet you today. I was scared shitless. This happened during their move from Beverly Hills to Century City from a house to a condo. I wish we had comedians like this today.
One thing never talked about with Rickles is his clothes. He was always a dapper dresser immaculately put-together. Back when men give a damn about themselves and respected their hosts enough to dress appropriate for the occasion. Mr Warmth had class.
I think Mr. Rickles was in the top 10 best dressed men for quiet a while. Dennis Miller is not very impressive, that’s my opinion , not trying to step anybody on their toes
That was just the vibe of the show, you know cussing and everything. Dennis on SNL dressed it up nicely. Big thing with don is he never wore suits. Always different color slacks and jacket even then that wasn't how it was done. Look at Bob Hope and Bob Newhart for example. Johnny Carson was of the same ilk as well. Now all the late night hosts and SNL weekend update just where big old expensive tailored suits. People dress them. Talk about having no pride. Anyways Dennis Miller is a great dresser always has been. Check the tape.
Rapid fire Rickles. My dad took me to see him in Vegas when I was 17 and that was in the 70's. I got his humor then and laughed my ass off and he's just as hilarious now. I love Don Rickles.
Thanks for posting this. I am so happy that I "discovered" Don Rickles. There's nothing like sharing great senses of humor. This man is truly an original, best of the best.
I've always known of rickles, but didn't really look at his stuff until recently. I've been binge watching everything I can find, and I'm totally obsessed! I'm 42, so it has nothing to do with nostalgia. Even though he tells a lot of the same jokes, he somehow makes it feel fresh every time. No idea how he does it, but it doesn't matter, hopefully someone will eventually pick up where he left off, and do what he did on some small scale.
I loved Don Rickles, he was hilarious. I was fortunate enough to see him live before he passed. I was dating an eastern european woman at the time who didn't know who he was. So when she asked about him I told her that he cut up people and without a blink of an eye she said "he's a magician?' I howled, made the moment even better...
Man, its sooo refreshing to see a talk show host "in-love" with his guest. Dennis Miller reminds me of a kid and his idol, its great to see him laugh his ass off at Rickles. Love it.
Miller is always the thinking man’s comedian Rickles knew he needed to adapt to Miller’s style. He obviously knew how Miller worked and gave us something totally unique. Plus, great advice!
you are spot on I agree, I ve seen him since 1970 on so many shows and Roasts and interviews, never saw him open up about his "act". Other comments are true about the way these Pol Correct idiots would probably boycott him, I swear the DEM party needs to be taught a lesson in NOV
Yeah ,all the way to Arlington Cemetary ---- Such a sensitive patriot without a care for the wind's direction . If l only we had Mr Miller at our windsock after he looked out on his selfie radar thing that was so important to love hmself yet again so relentlessly . So good Dennis now , that you're maybe not so lovey dovey in your mirror ---- Dennis , one of the luckiest people getting luck in history ---- very very untalented man apart from gathering luck like a luck magnet for it's own sake ! If you can can get this far maybe I'm wrong as Dennis Miller should be going back through the 12 steps . IRAQ ? ---- You certainly were banging that drum Dennis !
Don Rickles was the king. Underneath his style of humor was a true gentleman and someone who carried himself with more class than anyone you’ll ever meet.
You are 100% correct my friend ! Don would hit ya with his quick with but would follow up with admirable thanks and praise to people who have him on their show or whatever the venue is .True gentleman of class and full of humor!down to earth?
He really has the right timing, Rickles is/was a topcomedian. Became known as an insult comedian when he responded to his hecklers. The audience enjoyed these insults more than his prepared material, and he incorporated them into his act. "When you enter Frank Sinatra`s room, you have to kiss his ring. I don't mind, but he has it in his back pocket".
Dennis Miller is one of the funniest comedians of our time. He takes the same aproach that Rickles seems to take. Dennis' timing is perfect sharp intelligent. I would pay big money to see him in concert. Wouldn't you?
Oh my god there are comments on the internet now that say "14 years ago" ... We're getting old. Miller wasn't funny then - like an unfunny frat boy and I don't know about him now because ... who does?
My all-time favorite comedian, Mr; Don Rickles. The man had so much class. I could see why he was considered as one of the best-dressed men in Hollywood. He could wear the suit he was wearing on this interview to an interview now and it would still be stylish..
Love this interview with Dennis and Mr Warmth 🏆 Different generations and different styles just bouncing off each other 😂 Just Gold 👍 . . . Love you Champion _____ Now where's my Cookie 🍪
Seeing Don Rickles on Dennis Miller reminded of when Don hosted Saturday Night Live. He pretty much stole the show. He did some brilliant ad libs through out the episode. I’ve searched for clips from Don’s episode, but I’ve never found any.
7:05 "People are starting to realize now that politically-incorrect is not a terrible thing." Aaaanaand twenty years later politically- incorrect is back to being bad.
@0:53, Rickles let out a split-second grunt. That was he had already came up with "Fine", and was having a bit of trouble holding it in. But timing his "Fine" response was key to his reply. And he timed it perfectly. He knew exactly when to say "Fine". But he came up with his "Fine" response @0:53, or perhaps a second earlier. Watch him, and you could see he is bubbling over, knowing what's coming, and he is holding it in.
Is it even possible to NOT luv Rickles,,,,,,,,,!!! The respect alone says it all,,,,,Mr. Rickles is more funny than most,,,when he's not even trying,,,,,,,,,,,God luv ya , I hope you live til your 203 yrs old,,,,,,,cause you never cease to make me with full belly laughter.............
completely agree. I find it really grating he rips the Jim Carey-Rickles impersonation thing and does all the 'ah's after responding to each caller. Surprised Rickles didn't catch him on that, maybe he thought it was like a tribute to him or something
I'm a millennial myself and well I'm sick and tired of this sorry PC culture we live in anymore. Yes I agree my generation is a bunch of thin skinned little children who can't laugh and take a joke it's pretty pathetic. Unfortunately I know many baby boomers as well who can't take a joke and sadly their kids who are millennials and gen Xers are just as thin skinned. I've learned in life if you can't laugh at yourself and your shortcomings at times you'll be bored.
We had Don Rickles for 90 years. It wasn't enough.
I am a black hispanic who absolutely LOVES Don Rickles. Been watching him since I was six and am now almost 50,,
Ditto, except Im white German, almost forgot I'm supposed to hate Jews and burn crosses or some shit. But, that racist shit is all a lie. You have good taste, Rickles is one of the greatest. His part in Kellys Hero's is so god damn funny still to this day. Cheers.

Please continue I'm listening 😬
Ex-American Citizen was such a nice guy. Sorry Obama tossed you back. You were 1 in 3 million deportations but you won’t be forgotten.
Black and Hispanic, was your father a sailor?
In the late 90s I asked my parent’s if they wanted to go see Don Rickles. My father immediately refused and said that he didn’t like him nor his material. My mom said yes after I encouraged her. Me either
Sounds like a story some lesbian would tell!
you can get your own channel and tell stories like this all the time
Cell haha
I want this to be true. I do believe and love the idea that if rickles really gave it to you as an audience member he'd come up after and thank you for being a good sport. He made fun of everyone and hated noone

I was blessed to see Don live before he passed. Such a wonderful family man and so very talented. His legend will live forever.
Rickles is an absolute genious, best quick one liner guy ever. Thanks for sharing
One thing never talked about with Rickles is his clothes. He was always a dapper dresser immaculately put-together. Back when men give a damn about themselves and respected their hosts enough to dress appropriate for the occasion. Mr Warmth had class.
Dennis Miller is dressed like he just dragged himself out of bed.
There's a Johny Carson clip where Carson mentions he was named one of the best dressers of the years on a magazine
I think Mr. Rickles was in the top 10 best dressed men for quiet a while. Dennis Miller is not very impressive, that’s my opinion , not trying to step anybody on their toes

I saw Don Rickles with Sinatra. Great. I never missed Dennis Miller Live.
Love Don and Dennis! Two greats!
Rapid fire Rickles. My dad took me to see him in Vegas when I was 17 and that was in the 70's. I got his humor then and laughed my ass off and he's just as hilarious now.
I love Don Rickles.

There's nothing like sharing great senses of humor. This man is truly an original, best of the best.
This was actually an insightful interview with Don... most guys can't break through the act to get to what makes him tick.
I worked on this show. Can't believe it's been 23 years...OUCH!!
Always loved this show, you must have a million stories from working there.
he is incredible he brings everything back to the present moment, love him
I've always known of rickles, but didn't really look at his stuff until recently. I've been binge watching everything I can find, and I'm totally obsessed! Rickles is the man.
❤️

Don Rickles is exactly the opposite of being politically correct indeed! And THAT is exactly what comedy is all about.
You absolutely nailed that.
fantastic. Dennis MIller and Don. What a pair.
To all who have been ripped by Mr Warmth you should take a bow....you were mentioned by one of the all time GREATEST... It is considered an honor
Absolutely Everybody in show business wanted to be ridiculed by Mr. Warmth
R.I.P. MR. WARMTH YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED ONE OF THE FINEST COMEDIANS EVER!!!! COMEDY CLASSIC

nobody is sharper than don- he is a legend
I agree dude.
🏆💯The Superman of standup comedy. Thanks, DON RICKLES❗
Man, its sooo refreshing to see a talk show host "in-love" with his guest. Dennis Miller reminds me of a kid and his idol, its great to see him laugh his ass off at Rickles. Love it.
04:24 Wow, never seen Rickles get so serious about his craft before; Miller really brings that out of him. Great interviewer.
I thought that was fantastic. No one ever tried to get any insights out of him
Miller is always the thinking man’s comedian Rickles knew he needed to adapt to Miller’s style. He obviously knew how Miller worked and gave us something totally unique.

still one of my favorites
Dennis' laugh is amazing

Great find flap jack, keep em coming!
He really has the right timing, Rickles is/was a topcomedian.

"When you enter Frank Sinatra`s room, you have to kiss his ring. I don't mind, but he has it in his back pocket".
Dennis Miller show was really good, I miss those type of shows. What do we have now?
"Nobody makes me laugh as hard as you with timing jokes"
"Fine..." LOL!!!
UNBELIEVABLE! If Rickles, Norm, and Dennis could have been in the same room it would have been dismantling beyond repair.
Don Rickles is a comedic category of his own.
I got to go see DML show once...was my favorite show in the 90s
Man, Dennis was WAY too happy. I can't really blame him, though. I'd be stoked beyond belief being in the presence of the great Don Rickles.
I agree.
truly don the greatest comediant everr... so sharp amazing!! The KING DON!!
GOD BLESS MR. RICKLES ! !
“ If she’s not black, she fell in a bucket of M&M’s “.

Really cool dude . Love the old school ways . Him in the rat pack were truly awesome guys .
He has a very fast and sharp mind!
Two greats on one show!!
My all-time favorite comedian, Mr; Don Rickles. The man had so much class. I could see why he was considered as one of the best-dressed men in Hollywood. He could wear the suit he was wearing on this interview to an interview now and it would still be stylish..
Damn right. Don Rickles is one of the greats!!
" I guess his mule's sick" lol
I was fortunate enough to be in his presence once and it was a big highlight of my life!
Loved don.
I love Don Rickles
Some seriously good advice for any aspiring comedian out there.
Rickles was a genius... he's up there in Heaven with Robin Williams and Richard Pryor!
One of Rickles best appearances
Love this interview with Dennis and Mr Warmth 🏆 Different generations and different styles just bouncing off each other 😂 Just Gold 👍 . . . Love you Champion _____ Now where's my Cookie 🍪
Miller , a Patriot🇺🇸👍🏼
This is outrageously funny!!
so quick.
Seeing Don Rickles on Dennis Miller reminded of when Don hosted Saturday Night Live. He pretty much stole the show. He did some brilliant ad libs through out the episode. I’ve searched for clips from Don’s episode, but I’ve never found any.
“Fine.” Proved Miller’s point about timing with this single utterance.
They are awesome!
Rickles is the best. And a very good actor. I would like to have seen more of him. Back in the day his Vegas act was up there with Sinatra and Elvis.
It’s been said that comedians are the best psychologists…….they hide a broken heart and understand the human condition….
What a combination this is!!
Don Rickels Frank Sinatra Sammy Davis Tony Bennett Joan Rivers are legends that will never be duplicated. Today's singers and comedians can't compare.
excellent!
7:05 "People are starting to realize now that politically-incorrect is not a terrible thing." Aaaanaand twenty years later politically- incorrect is back to being bad.
@Matt Pizzano true
Miller acts totally hammered
Love you Don. Miss you. Don and Sinatra, the classics of their era.
Some people try to be funny and end up insulting people that's why Don Rickles is a comedic genius.
Caller: "How's the career goin'?"
Ruckles: "Well, I'm on here..."
Miller is having the time of his life
Notice that Dennis Miller sits first. Major major major respect when a host does that.
Hat's off for the late great Don Rickles... hockey puck.
Two down to earth people ... Don't get that often today
@0:53, Rickles let out a split-second grunt.

Together these two really are funny!
Legend

"Crazy mexicans!" hahahahahahahahahaha
completely agree. I find it really grating he rips the Jim Carey-Rickles impersonation thing and does all the 'ah's after responding to each caller. Surprised Rickles didn't catch him on that, maybe he thought it was like a tribute to him or something
You just look at Rickles and are ready to laugh. We miss you Crapgame
Don Rickles was a riot, sadly he could never be appreciated by the humorless pc millennials.
They'd be a lot happier if they would just lighten up.
I'm a millennial myself and well I'm sick and tired of this sorry PC culture we live in anymore. Yes I agree my generation is a bunch of thin skinned little children who can't laugh and take a joke it's pretty pathetic. Name one milennial who has complained about rickles
@Ross Mark --- I think his obama-butt-plug is giving him trouble...ha ha ha
I'm glad they lack the sophistication to get his humor. Fk'em for being such entitled little pricks.
Don rikles was one of the very best he should be in the hall of fame
"We exaggerate all our insecurities" Don Rickles, Minor genius.
We list this treasure
Talking to Rickles is like dancing with a razor blade.
Rest in Peace you mean old bastard, you were one of the greats. :>)
Rickles is a Leland!!! and Miller is Awesome !!!!
Miller rocking that goatee
A better time. He was a man of the people and the people loved him.
