I know that during the diamond casino heist if you go the bugstars route, Lester says something like “I pulled something similar back in the day with a jewel store”.
Also, at the contract DLC mission, you break into the FIB building the same way you do on the rooftoop approach of Bureau Raid. And to be fair, I think it would be very stupid for the headquarters of a security agency (which is supposed to be one of the most well secured places in the world) to let it be invaded the same way twice without them improving security at the rooftop from the first attack. Which leads me to believe that Fire Crew is the canon option.

Another banger. Honestly, I love these videos. You can really tell that a lot of research and effort went into these. I like to think that Lester figured out Michael was still alive by tracking Amanda, Tracey and Jimmy. He knew they were still alive, and since he split the score from the Big Score Heist to include them in Option B it's fair to assume he respects Michael's family. Also, as to which ending is canon: in GTA Online, Tao Cheng explicitly says he was nearly killed at the place where Franklin shoots his father in Option C. This does only imply it happens (what's to say he had a different near-death experience?), but it's the only evidence implying one particular ending happened rather than saying different endings _didn't_ happen.
9:45 I think Lester knew some whereabouts of Trevor which is hinted on the drive back from the paleto score setup, where he says, "he bought some glassware a year ago and I think it's for a meth lab". Maybe that's why he says "not as far as I know" when Michael asks him where they buried Trevor during the casing the jewel store.
32:49 First time I'm hearing this audio, and I wonder why it wasn't used in the final. Kinda like it more. It's startling knowing how calm Dave usually sounds for the rest of the game.

43:04 Little logistical problem with this, Jimmy would've been in the 3rd grade in North Yankton. 12:42 i think it is also possible that Lester is monitoring Union Depository, because it is his dream (i guess it is the crew dream) Sorry for my bad english
Haven't finished the vid yet, but I just wanted to say my favorite unsung character in the game is Floyd. His entire arc is both tragic and absolutely hilarious. Deb's apartment slowly degrading over time as Trevor settles in. Trevor convincing Floyd his life is terrible when, on paper, it was pretty damn good and ordinary. The climax of Trevor leaving the apartment covered in blood xD its too good
Heads up, you're missing chapters for "Isn't doing the Paleto Heist to buy a cargobob pointless when you could just steal one?" (53:52), "How did Trevor meet Wade?" (54:15), and "Where does Lamar go in the middle of Ending C: DeathWish?" (55:16)
Again, I feel like soooo many of these questions and misconceptions stem from people applying GTA logic to the story. There are hints at that (Michael mentioning he ran someone over on the way to therapy, Lamar wantonly wasting people and starting shootouts, Trevor... everything about Trevor), but generally real world logic still applies. Sandy Shores may be a few minutes drive in the actual game, but it's meant to reference middle-of-nowhere rural desert areas in California and Nevada. Trevor would have been untraceable there, even by a genius like Lester.
I think you might have missed a detail, one of the ways Trevor would have known Micheal was alive is the news broadcast after the jewelry store heist the witness repeats Micheal's catchphrase, Trevor saw that news clip on TV. It's been a while for me though so I might be misremembering.
46:42 I just realized that this is likely referencing how Steven Ogg moved on from his role as Trevor in GTA5/GTAO and doesn't want to be in any more DLC for it.
45:44 I personally believe there’s a lot of deeper meaning behind their relationship. They hate each other, but they always end up coming back back to each other because they know they can make it work. Always being gone, and Amanda forced to take care of the kids, I would see why she wanted to leave him.
Sad that he no longer wants to be associated with trevor and we will probably never see trevor again (unless rockstar coughs up enough money to 'change' Steven Ogg's mind but thats very unlikely for the greedy pigs at rockstar)
@@SaulBadman-wb5kt doesn't he do clips on fiver (or whatever site it is) of him saying stuff for money? pretty sure he would do it for the fans and also rockstar probably pays him good already
My theory for the Humane labs thing is that’s the perfume story is obviously a cover up and possible the “animal activist attack” is a cover for you robbing it in GTA Online. Even if that wasn’t planned it’s kinda my head cannon now
I feel like now we need a video breaking down the entire story, like telling it like an actual story instead of explaining little details about the story.
I still love that they decided to transfer investment bonds the size of an envelope, not only in physical form instead of electronically, but in an armored car that just screams "Valuable cargo!" They could literally just have someone in the department stick it in a backpack with their lunch when their shift was over to avoid anyone suspecting something, and then casually take a cab to the destination on their way home...
Little bit of correction, Lester doesn't find Wei Cheng's location, he finds a location where Tao Cheng (Cheng Jr) used his credit card last, and Franklin goes there with the intention of asking him about his dad, it just so happened that Cheng Sr was there with him
This video was awesome! This is definitely lesser known and discussed lore. I love that all the characters in this game have such a rich story behind them!
This is a fantastic lore video, especially the cut content and how you use custom camera angles for a lot of the gameplay dialogue sections. Definitely one of my favorite videos you've done, may the algorithm agree.
Its crazy how much Matt knows abaout gta v. This whole lore video is amazing!! I never thought i'd be watching lore videos on gta v but here we are. Its a very good story fair play to rockstar for creating it and fair play to Matt for figuering out the lore and hidden details. Theres so much i didnt know which i now do. Fascinating :)
32:25 that shoulda been put in the final game, either as an alternate scene if you mission fail or something, Franklin and Micheal dissolving into hysterical laughter and Dave sounding absolutely LIVID instead of just simply sounding concerned is amazing.
The main reason Lester came out of retirement was cuz he liked Ms. Chen. He had everything, except love. I think at the end of the heist they stay together too so.
The amount of intel Lester has and is able to acquire is something insane, but with all the lore that there was about this game, FIB, IAA, Misteries and what not, I wonder if GTA VI could really get better. ,.,., 1,233-4m
I'll just say: Micheal and Amanda are perfect for eachother, two horribly flawed people who can't ruin the lives of others by having them in relationships.
Even though I never think I would learn something new about a 10 year old game. But every time i watch a lore video I learn at least 1 new thing about GTA 5

The prologue alone holds so much lore already.
yo truly are just not a speedrunner, but a really good youtuber, you absolutely are underrated matto
12:42 i think it is also possible that Lester is monitoring Union Depository, because it is his dream (i guess it is the crew dream)
Sorry for my bad english
Sorry for my bad English
Balls
That was very good.
The climax of Trevor leaving the apartment covered in blood xD its too good
Trevor never convinced Floyd of anything, Floyd was just a spineless pushover that let Trevor do whatever he wanted
This is a great video, informative.
no way you watched the whole thing?!?!!!!!

Yeah. He is also a mod for darkviper.
Thanks mate!
Find you a girl who is as passionate about you like Matt is passionate about GTA 5 lore
25:20 I don't know, perfume business is a strong competitor.
"Available only at Macy's" isn't just a slogan.
It's a call to war.
I would love to see a cinematic cut of GTA online heists and such with a crew of DarkMackleMu
46:42 I just realized that this is likely referencing how Steven Ogg moved on from his role as Trevor in GTA5/GTAO and doesn't want to be in any more DLC for it.
Ty for this. Im sick of hearing people say gta vs story is garbage
45:44 I personally believe there’s a lot of deeper meaning behind their relationship. They hate each other, but they always end up coming back back to each other because they know they can make it work. Always being gone, and Amanda forced to take care of the kids, I would see why she wanted to leave him.
Babe wake up
New DarkviperAU video just dropped !!!!
And it’s an hour longgggg
57:31 I think this is also said directly by the cops. Something along the lines of "we have been on you since you picked up the cars"
Voice actor for Trevor is exceptional
Sad that he no longer wants to be associated with trevor and we will probably never see trevor again (unless rockstar coughs up enough money to 'change' Steven Ogg's mind but thats very unlikely for the greedy pigs at rockstar)
@@SaulBadman-wb5kt doesn't he do clips on fiver (or whatever site it is) of him saying stuff for money? pretty sure he would do it for the fans and also rockstar probably pays him good already
VA’s for everyone really
My theory for the Humane labs thing is that’s the perfume story is obviously a cover up and possible the “animal activist attack” is a cover for you robbing it in GTA Online. Even if that wasn’t planned it’s kinda my head cannon now
I really enjoyed this video. The Lore series is way more interesting than you'd think at a glance.
I've been meaning to compliment on your thumbnails, Matto. The hidden lore videos really reminded me of that.
Keep it up, you're an artist.
Doggy
I feel like now we need a video breaking down the entire story, like telling it like an actual story instead of explaining little details about the story.
Theres a game about it
Just watch all the cutscene on UA-cam
I still love that they decided to transfer investment bonds the size of an envelope, not only in physical form instead of electronically, but in an armored car that just screams "Valuable cargo!"
They could literally just have someone in the department stick it in a backpack with their lunch when their shift was over to avoid anyone suspecting something, and then casually take a cab to the destination on their way home...
Hell,why not just email?
Its cause the whole mission is a Heat reference
So Michael was in witness protection
I finally know everything about a game I never even finished. Thank you, Matto.
Thanks man i ve been waiting for this video since 2019.
I've been waiting since 2013
Little bit of correction, Lester doesn't find Wei Cheng's location, he finds a location where Tao Cheng (Cheng Jr) used his credit card last, and Franklin goes there with the intention of asking him about his dad, it just so happened that Cheng Sr was there with him
Great video , great work , I just recommend putting subtitles in such videos that depend on the dialogues
This video was awesome! This is definitely lesser known and discussed lore. I love that all the characters in this game have such a rich story behind them!
Wake up honey, new GTA V lore just dropped
a really long Matto video, oh boy what a treat, love your stuff keep it up
This is a fantastic lore video, especially the cut content and how you use custom camera angles for a lot of the gameplay dialogue sections. Definitely one of my favorite videos you've done, may the algorithm agree.
Yea I love the camera from the car when they are talking. Really nice detail!
I love anything GTA lore related. Watched the whole thing.
28:56 this dialogue also plays if Michael call Davey after beating Simeon on mission Complications.
Nah, that phone call is a bit different, and Dave also mentions getting a "New Boss" (Steve).
@@SalBadman I see. Thanks
Thanks man, I got something to watch while eating.
32:25 that shoulda been put in the final game, either as an alternate scene if you mission fail or something, Franklin and Micheal dissolving into hysterical laughter and Dave sounding absolutely LIVID instead of just simply sounding concerned is amazing.
28:15 Steve also wanted Trevor dead
Thanks, for clearing up some bits of the lore I didn't understand with full confidence I can say Brad was in Witness Protection.
GTA 5 plays like an interactive family guy cutaway gag
Man we need a gta 5 lore video made by both darkviper and theprofessional. These two may as well be THE gta lore analysts.
I'll just say:
Micheal and Amanda are perfect for eachother, two horribly flawed people who can't ruin the lives of others by having them in relationships.
Lester is one of the most weirdly badass characters in gta. He’s nerdy and creepy but also a genius and incredibly skilled.
finally a video about dave (my beloved)
Careful, that burning hunk of love is all Michael's
Dere's a snek in muh doot!
Even though I never think I would learn something new about a 10 year old game. But every time i watch a lore video I learn at least 1 new thing about GTA 5
8:06 fun fact: this is actually a Chef's store xD
“Fun fuct” 💀💀💀
