Hi there this has happen to my rmz250 too where are u based ? and what sort of money would this sort of work cost so I could get me head repaired ? Great video 👍
awesome work!!! problem with this engine and kxf engine factory had error in manual for 12nm cam torque and it was supposed to be 9nm. stopped seizing cams when i dropped to 8-9nm and they later changed service manual because of error. i wish they came with removable/ replacable cam bearing like this
At my experience, the best matrial for bearings is a soft cast iron. Coz they have big sponge holes. It can keeps oil even they are dried. I'm used for crank shaft bearings without having any problems. And last longer. Otherwise, using cast aluminum ( i melt it from engine scrap)
Ha I have recently done the same thing though I retained the bearing shells the same way as with crankshaft brearings, an interferance fit. the camshaft wasnt badly scored and polished up fine. When I made the bearing shells I held the two halfs in a four jaw chuck in the lathe, took a couple of goes before I had a succesful outcome but it worked cheers
is the material you use to reace the scared cam bearings harder than the original material that came on these heads ? Do you offer this service to the public ?
I can’t understand if the bearing, after being made on the lathe is then cut through the centre, then how is that a perfect circle? What am I missing? Thanks
for this video I suggest all people have motorcycle before you running the motorcycle You need to starting your engine atleast 5mnts to 10mnts to become up oil engine.

i always wondered how they seized , so it happens when there is lets say less than 600ml of oil in engine or less than 400ml idk or faulty oil pump its not something i know but intresting to know
@@PaulXchannel for sure! Bronze is self-lubricating and more resistant than aluminum. It is currently and widely used for these purposes, practically on all car engines. Being more resistant you can make these bushings thinner. I wonder why they don't use it on these heads, now I understand why these bikes don't last so long. To be precise there is a special bronze just for these purposes if I remember correctly. If you inquire around you will find confirmation.
Just for inform. Don't used aluminum alloys for bearings. They will stick to cast iron, coz that metal didn't have sponge holes. Thats why all engine using cast aluminum. Rather than aluminum alloy, i suggests using cast iron or bronze ( copper phosphor) they wouldn't stick to cast iron (cam shaft)

Amazing work you did there. What is the reason they got broken in the first place? is it oil starvation that makes it worn out like that?
Thanks .
The reason is to little oil.

AWESOME work - subscribe! Curious why they don't use a 'plain' bearing in the head?
Due to size and weight.
@@PaulXchannel Thanks - for the update GREAT work!!!
Quen duración te da la reparacion en funcion ?

the work is not for the public

One bearing is made of two pieces. It is cut and then milled in the cylinder head into a precise semicircle.
how much do you charge for the same procedure but on a 06 Rmz 450
Great job. 👌👌What hapend to that cylinder head? Oil pump falure, low oill?
Thanks.
Low oil.

I have a wr450 head in a very similar condition that needs repairing.
Do you have a business website?
How much does this cost i need same thing
how long dit it take you ?

Is this even justifiable how much would you hafta charge too do that much work?
how much is something like that
? respect from poland
How much cost that type of repair? Respect from Poland +1
Lovely repair.
Did i miss something, splitting the bearing will surely not be a perfect circle anymore or did you make 4 and only use part of each?
Thanks.
Everything is centered.
For each bearing, using 2 rings. Using 1 bigger than an half part. Bolt to the head and facing after

WARNING.
There is a different thermal expansion in the aluminum cylinder head.
It doesn't work well with bronze bushing.
