I don't think they can do it as a four piece. They need to call Narumi. She sounded so great with Hazuki in Disqualia. She also improved Aldious when she stepped in for Toki.

I'm as sad as everyone else that Saki leaves the band, but unlike people that think this is the beginning of Nemophilas end, I think the band will be fine. Yes Saki is a very good guitar player, but the stuff she played in Nemophila was not so crazy that it is impossible to find a replacement. It's also true that she is a good song writer, but she didn't write many Nemophila songs anyways. Wether they are able to reproduce their sound without a replacement is another topic. We will see. Even if they decided to continue as a 4 piece band for now, they can still make up their minds and search for a new guitar player if the 4 piece lineup does not work out. I just hope there are no hard feelings between Saki and the other members and they are still friends. I also hope Saki will be happy and successful with the path she has chosen.

They should DEFINITELY get another guitarist. They have such a huge pool to pick from in Japan. I like Saki, sure, but she isn't Nemophila. She's a guitarist. I think of Tamu and Mayu as the stand out uniqueness of this group.

Amen. I love Saki she is amazing guitarist and I hope she finds what she is looking for but she was not all Nemophila. Still so much talent in that band musically along with a kick ass lead singer! The one who started this band lol. I hope they find another kick ass guitarist though that fits in. They can play the old stuff even with their own feel and still make it sound great and contribute something great to the new stuff. But they really need two guitars to play their songs to date. Haraguchi and Hazuki are kick ass musicians. Those two make me smile all the time and they have great chemistry on stage. Losing those two would be a gut punch and I don't want to see no one else leave please. But Tamu and Mayu to me are the biggest standouts. Hazuki might shine even more now. Im looking forward to the sound they will bring.

They definitely need a 2nd guitarist. There's no way Iron Maiden could have carried on with only Dave after Adrian left back in '90. Kind of the same thing here. It just wouldn't sound right. The music is built around 2 guitar players.

i feel you... saki is my favorite guitarist. She used to be the leader of nemophila. Her value to nemophila goes beyond her guitar playing. She brought many professionals to the nemophila team, and her connections also brought a lot of exposure to nemophila. Just like haraguchi San said, without Saki, Nemophila would not be what it is now, but I am not worried about the future of the band, they have grown a lot in the past few years. I believe that Tamu can also play a leadership role just like Saki.

They all have grown the last 5 years and learned a lot. They will be fine. The way Saki talked in her post sounded like she thought they would be good. Them and their staff for sure have some good experience now. Saki is amazing but she did not do it alone. All of them and their staff got them to Budokan. Amazing 5 year run. Now a new chapter will begin. I'm more anxious than sad. Curious about what is to come and excited to hear it. But I'm sure this will all take some time. April 13 when they said they would talk more about the future schedule. Looking forward to hear about it and see the band.

I think they will still go on strong. They are my favorite japanese band ever since I found out about them back in 2021. Saki leaving sucks but I prefer to see the positives in this situation. Saki is able to do the most with her musical career when she isnt attached to any one specific band. Also the 4 other members of Nemophila are very capable of making music from here on out. After all I never liked this band because of one individual member, I liked them all as a whole and individually. Best wishes for them, can't wait to see online in May when they perform at Naon x Yaon

Ok I'm going to babble for a second bare with me haha. Yes really sucks Saki is gone. It hit me like a ton of bricks. gonna miss seeing her up there on stage with the band. I'm happy the band is moving on. But IMO they are going to have to add another guitarist honestly if they want to play their music to date. It is a twin guitar attack. Or they might bring along a guitarist to play live? Ok that could work. But I hope they don't use back track for Saki old parts because that just be weird. IMO If your band is based on a twin guitar attack then you should go out and get another guitarist. Yes sure it wont have the same feel as Saki but it does not mean the new guitarist can't still play the old songs and sound good doing it and who knows what cool shit they can bring to the band. There are many talented female guitarist in Japan. I don't want all backtrack. I rather see another guitarist play the songs and add in their own twist and style along with dueling with Hazuki. This band can still be amazing without Saki. Yes losing Saki is big hole. Hell losing any of these members can throw the balance off for awhile. Now if they lost Mayu then the band is done. Mayu started all this with Mayu Session. Some bands you can lose the voice but not this one. But its the bands decision and I will support them all the way whatever they decide. If they want to remain 4 piece I'm totally cool with that and love to see what sound they bring. But how on earth are they gonna play most their music to date? I am Curious. But overall I'm just happy to hear they are trying to move forward .I would be more sad if they packed it in and ended the band more than I am that Saki left honestly. Man and they are cruising too just playing Budokan and a new album with their popularity growing big time this past couple years. Yes its a big bump in the road but they should move forward. Sure as hell looks like Saki has. Already has new projects and band lined up. Looks like she as put all this in the rear view mirror already and I wish her all the luck. She One of my favorite guitarist and can't wait to hear more her work but the world does not revolve around her and Nemophila success was not all do to her. It was all of them and their are still 3 amazing musicians and a kickass lead singer to carry on. Even Saki said in her post she thinks the band is good and will be fine. I think they will too.

    • @michelm.6033

I agree with all of your analysis. They can’t immediately replace Saki, or possibly ever to some level. However, there are a ton of fabulous guitarists in Japan and they have built their sound around the dueling guitars. For now I expect them to continue as they said as a four piece. It would not surprise me if they added a hired gun in the short term, or even on a concert by concert case. They have certainly supported some of the current and historic bands around Japan recently. It doesn’t matter if it’s a male, or female guitarist. I simply can’t imagine, Show-Ya, MTH, or Rottengrafty not returning the favor. They are each a class act. I imagine this to be similar to Tamu’s maternity leave. If I had the money to attend Naon Yaon this year I would. I would not be surprised at all if Saki actually joined in Nemophila’s set for at least a song to show her appreciation for her 5 years with the band. They will both be at the festival and it would be another historic performance. All of this is simply my speculation.
PS- The flowers left by these bands and many, many more at the Budokan performance were exceptionally nice. I appreciated seeing the support.

    • @kawliga4845
      @kawliga4845 2 місяці тому +1

@@michelm.6033 Totally agree. A new guitarist wont be Saki but they will be themselves and add their flair their style to the band and it wont be too hard for them to play Sakis parts with their own feel too. they just have to find the good fit and someone that fits in too and SMILES haha. I just cant see this band stopping. Not with the best drummer in the Japan like Tamu. Well she is the best to me haha. Also with Mayu the voice and the one who started this all. Then two amazing musicians in Hazuki who is just as amazing as Saki in her own right and Haraguchi-san who is a fireball and kick ass bassist who has written some of the bands most unique kick ass songs. Those two Hazuki and Haraguchi-san have great chemistry too together on stage. Saki leaves and empty petal that needs to be filled if they so chose but most the flower remains to keep shining on and I believe they will.

@@michelm.6033 I have so many fav bands over the years in tock in metal. But this band right now at this time in my life never fails to make me smile. They just have a great Zen. Yep I did it lol. I know some will say that is messed up now because Saki is gone but to be truthful I always felt the other 4 were more close to each other and Saki always hung on the outside. I could be totally wrong. I don't have any clue how deep their friendships are .But it always seemed that way in appearance the past couple years. I do hope and it seems like they parted on good terms though. It is possible. Def Leppard had one guitarist during adrenalized when's Steve passed. Add Lacuna Coil went through a huge lineup change probably about 10 years ago and they always stuck with one guitarist at that point. But I'm sure they could probably have one guitarist and then maybe recruit somebody later on. It just seems better having the two that feed off of each other like Midor and Miyako in LB does.. but I would like to see in the future. With BM pigeon seems to be getting a little bit more confident in her playing maybe we could get some lead parts out of her. Even throughout the years James from Metallica is even experimented with some lead parts.

Apparently the girls plan to continue as a quartet, which for me would be a mistake, Nemophila, like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Megadeth, is a band of two lead guitarists, that is their essence and part of Saki's legacy.
The girls must find a replacement... but replacing Saki will not be an easy task.😞

Was shocked to hear the news Saki would be leaving the group, With 4 members they can still be successful and bring a great sound but I do fear that Nemophila will never be the same with only 1 amazing guitarist. How will they perform there older songs with just 1 guitarist? I do hope they can get another guitarist rather than going with just 4 members. Who knows, they may bounce back stronger than before.

Not about Nemophila, I just want to say that Alan should check out the MTH UA-cam channel every now and then, he is always talking about them not making new music, and so few videos beeing on UA-cam, at the moment they have just 8 previously released videos that is not up yet on their channel (+ the mystery video they hintet at beeing behind the blank spot on the list where the winner in their fanclub lottery can choose what two videos to upload)
Personally I think it's a live video of either "What's up people", or " Koi no Sperm", as what they showed after revealing there was something behind the blank entry was taken from their advertisement video for the "No Cottelee no life" DVD/BluRay, and that was the two songs they played after disolving Cottelee/MTH 2.
I also think that now that they are finished using Cottelee/Maximum the Hormone no 2, to rerecord their older songs, that they probably will be releasing new music soon.

I think Saki's departure was already on the table long before the Budokan' s concert.
Maybe that's why no schedule was annouced (after the Budokan gig) to support the freshly released new album
and also it was very strange to see there were a huge difference with the others "big" japanese metal bands such as Lovebites, Hanabie or even Coldrain
which have been added on lots of international festivals (Europe & America) this year or have been billed on big international band gigs in Japan.

Nemo will be an awesome four piece band that I will support with all my heart. But they won't be this Nemophila - it's impossible to overstate the importance of Saki in getting the band to the level they are now, so quickly. It's just a feeling I get watching the band's interactions in public, but I see Saki as being the strongest member, the rock that everyone could rely on when times were difficult. Once that rock is gone, they become a different band. Kind of like Ozzy Sabbath vs. Dio Sabbath or Dave Halen vs. Sammy Halen. All great bands, but irrevocably altered once the lightning in the bottle has been released. I'm still looking forward to what a four petal nemophila will look like!

Its ok man, definitely heartbreaking news but i understand Saki's decision and wish her all the best. Creative differences is a common problem in bands, but I think in this particular situation, the bands creative output is mostly reliant on producers songwriting. Of course, they get to collaborate here and there, and a few songs composed by the band members, but they are at the mercy of whatever the producers want them to play. Even though i also love songs made by Akiyama and Co, I can see why Saki would much rather leave and do her own thing. I'm now super intrigued on what direction nemophila planned that made Saki quit.
As for the album review, fair review man, i think the only song i disagree with y'alls list is alive..i'd personally put it in A LOL but awesome vid as always man, rock on!

This is something very common in Japan, members leave, they become independent, great musicians make their music alone, it is not strange, for those who have followed Japanese music for years.

Nothing you could do about the timing of the video. Saki will be missed in Nemophila. I look forward to seeing what they do as the four piece and to what Saki does with her solo career. It sounds like they split amicably and will continue to be friends.
Having followed music for 40+ years, I've seen members come and go from my favorite bands. Think of when Yuimetal left Babymetal. It happens and we have to move on while still remaining the best fans possible.
Now with Dicodec and Gaijin guys, none ya'll can leave.
Best of luck to all involved.
Thank you for the great rating video.

Well, losing Saki sucks, nothing else to say. Wish her and Nemophila well. It's why I always try to celebrate the music we have now, because lineups change. They always do. Now it's time for Haraguchi-san to step up, because in a 3 piece , there's a lot riding on the bass.

If you listen to Oiran and Life, what strikes me about this album is that they should have waited. As fans, we don’t have an expectation of an album every year, we want the best the band has to offer, and I don’t think Evolve was that. It does have a few good tracks, but when we’re talking about the talent Nemophila had on board, that doesn’t meet quality expectations. Do we want “alright” or “quite good” from Nemophila when we know they have done so much better?
As for Saki, has anyone had the thought she wanted too much money? I know that’s the seedy side of it, but she left the band and the management… I trust her when she says she thinks she’s done all she can or wanted to with Nemophila and it’s time to move on, but…

“anyone had the thought she wanted too much money?”
I don’t know enough about Nemophila to answer this specifically, but I will say she is worth it. She’s actually too important to lose.
From an outsider perspective (a non-fan), I think maybe she was just overwhelmed by the whole thing, considering perhaps that she is a more introverted person, and so probably needed a break from everything. Because if she can do things in her own timing, with herself in full control, she will probably be more comfortable (comfortable on her own). I say this as someone that doesn’t know enough to give an opinion, and here I am giving one anyway for some reason.

@@SomethingToDo360 I feel they are all too important to lose even more Tamu and Mayu . But losing Saki should not cause the band to crumble. Too much talent there and lots of experience built up now over the past 5 years. Many do not know that when Mayu brought them all together for that session and then decided to make it a official band that Saki was not going to join at first just produce. Even then she wanted to concentrate on solo. I have always felt she would leave one day and pursue other things. I thought that of Tamu too because she was solo and session drummer and even more popular than Saki honestly. She supposedly did not want to be in a full time band back then but came to love playing with everyone in the band. watching the Life video so emotional back then. You could feel the love and respect from all the members too her when she came back after having her first child I believe. The band was uncertain of their future at that time too with covid and with a member out. But now even though it is uncertain time they have so much of a name and music they have built up over 5 years they have plenty to stand on and continue on.

Evolve is easily their best album. One of a few albums I've ever heard where I don't want to ever skip a song. Just because it's not your taste doesn't mean other fans aren't thrilled with it and shouldn't of been released
