  • Quick reference video of unpacking and installation of Heed crash bars on KTM 1190 Adventure -16. Installation is simple, but the instructions attached were slightly unclear with poor quality pictures, so I hope this can help. The bars are the same for KTM 1050 and KTM 1090, so the video may be helpful with these bikes as well.

Great vid, considering these bars. 👍👍

Thanks! They’re good. Haven’t crashed yet so I couldn’t tell you about the protection, but at least they’re good to attach stuff to. In hindsight I may have chosen some kind of lower bars only to save weight, but all in all I’m happy with them.

Just got mine. 1 week from Poland to Sydney Awesome. Missing the 2 x m6 x 15mm bolts, nut and washers but I’ll just get them locally. Job for the weekend. Looks easy. Cheers

Thanks for the video. How the bars are holding now?
And is the color of the bags still the same?
What about the protection against the water, inside those bags?
I am planing on getting this same bars.
    Thanks.

Robdesksea Sea, bars and bags are holding up well. I haven’t really put them through hell and bike has been on its wheels since bars were installed. But feels sturdy enough. Bag color hasn’t changed, but I wouldn’t count on too much water-protection from them. Mild-moderate showers, sure, but I wouldn’t trust them as drybags. They’re great for things like tools, first aid kit, reflective vest etc.

i have the heed bars on a 1290 of 2019, do you know the NM required for each bolt? I've been looking for it for weeks and i can't find it..

Sorry, I don’t. Best guess would be the original torque numbers for the bolts that these replace. I tightened mine arbitrarily and haven’t had any issues yet.

I think these were Michelin Road 4. Now it’s on Metzeler Karoo 4.
