I have it and I like it but its realy not that good. It is in JU 288 BR range and you will get dragged up almost the entire time. Fighting JU 288 which just run away and airfieldcamp all game is not fun. Also it has terrible armament. 6x .50 cals with just 600 rounds of ammo total aswell as a 37mm cannon that doesnt have a pure HE belt. The performance also sucks ofcourse. It turns very well and it excelerates well at high speeds but thats the only things it does well.
The P-59 is the best plane in it's BR range, I dont know what this guy is going on about. The only bad trait is that it doesnt climb well, but you turn so well anyone above you wont be able to get guns on you anyway so you can just slowly bleed their energy.
Same. I mean I could probably buy it with stuff like the 279 I got laying around, but I also could get a million more useful things with that money. ... Not that I'm gonna play WT anytime soon though.

It's the same with the Russian Yak 23. Nobody ever plays it, so when it shows up nobody knows what to do, which is great fun when you're on the giving end of punishment :)
every time i see the p59 i get ptsd... i encountered it a total of 3 times, 1: yak3, tried outturning it, didnt work. 2: i225, tried stalling it, didnt work. 3: la9, tried outruning it, dindt work. After those 3 atempts i just acepted that the p59 is invincible and never tried fighting it again no matter what.
I find it really funny how when I'm playing 5.0 AB then i see this on the other team, all of the 109s and 190s just chase it then end up getting killed by it.

I kinda want this thing, but I'm kinda worried everyone just goes "OMG JET MUST KILL" and I'm not good enough at defensive dogfighting to handle 4 people beelining for me, lol. Also, the P-59's first flight was 3 years after the F2A Buffalo entered service. Just to exemplify how fast aviation tech was moving at the time. I'm pretty sure the Merlin engine Mustangs came into service _after_ the p-59 started testing.
Its realy not that good anymore. - They reduced the ammo capacity on the .50 cals from 1800 to 600. - They removed the pure HE belt for all 37mm M10 guns for some reason so now the best belt for the 37mm is the universal belt which means that there is a 1/3 chance that you will hit your enemy with a 37mm AP rubber bullet instead of the 37mm HE guaranteed oneshot shell. - The JU 288 did a number on its matchmaker. - Germany players actualy started using their rediculous climb rate and actualy climb now. And this all comes on top of all the downsides it had from the start and which it continues to have. Yeah its not that good.
@@raptorman4138 1. It has no ground attack weapons so no. 2. Every fighter is good in ground. In ground people almost exclusively use strike aircraft anyway which get outperformed by almost any fighter.
I wouldnt trust those turn time numbers for the life of me. It really depends on a lot of factors to get those times. P-51d-30 for example needs to be going at +300kph and it will turn much faster than the 20s or 18s it feels like.
@@raptorman4138 AFAIK the turn times on the statcards is how long it takes to turn without losing any airspeed Many planes can turn faster if they have airspeed to burn or start out with a high speed
Definitely slower acceleration, faster turn rate by far, and the 37 is a heavy hitter if you can hit. Same downsides as early jets: cant climb, slow accel, takes forever to take off. Edit: It also locks up controls at about +700kph

Despite the nerf of halfed the ammo, this plane is rock and turn suprme. I got 2.3 K/D in this plane mainly in ground RB.
I only fly that thing in ground. Average about 4 kills a game that way and keep air superiority for the team. Best anti air is a good fighter.
