Have you been to Jordan and think I might have missed something out? Maybe you wouldn't have ordered the activities in the same way as me? I'd love to know your thoughts. Are you planning a trip to Jordan and watched this for inspiration? I'd love to know which activities have you most excited!

Thank you guys. In fairness, the attractions, locals and food made it quite easy to edit a video that makes it look amazing so I can't take all the credit. I hope you guys get there soon. If you have any questions, please just ask - always happy to help wherever I can!

These top 10 lists are a great way of looking back and seeing just how much sightseeing you packed in! Loads of great stuff but also a reminder of how unlucky you were to lose the footage of Wadi Mujib. I thought the list was very detailed and it was hard to disagree with any of it, although I think I would have put Jerash a lot higher, possibly to number 3. That place looked awesome! Great series!!

I really liked Jerash, but I'm a bit of an adventurer at heart so anything with a bit of physical challenge to it like hiking and swimming will likely rank higher. But I guess that's what made Jordan so cool that you had the history, but there was also the food, the hotels, the activities, just a real variety! Still a little gutted over the Wadi Mujib footage, though whenever I make it back to Jordan, I'll definitely do it again (maybe one of the more challenging trails with a guide as it was so good) and thankfully it's not too long of a drive from Amman! Pleased you enjoyed the top 10 video!

Hi Fariz. It's a difficult one to call as each offer something so different from one another. Petra has a heavy emphasis on its history, and second to that is a little adventure with either hiking or riding the animals such as donkeys and camels. For Wadi Rum, it's less about the history and more about the landscapes and the adventure, exploring many pockets. I personally preferred Wadi Rum to Petra, but this probably because I love a good adventure and it would be a lsight preference over history if I could only choose one. I hope this is helpful for you.

Hi Shiner Tom. We flew out on October 25th and back home on November 7th. The weather for me was just right and I'd be happy to travel at that time of year again. When it was blue skies and the middle of the day, it was ever so slightly crossing into the 'I'm really hot' feeling, but I only felt this on a few days. For the most part, mornings and evenings were mild enough to wear just t-shirt and trousers. Had we been in a non-Islamic country, I'd have worn shorts on many of the days, but to be respectful of local customs, I chose trousers, and was grateful it wasn't any hotter for this reason. We had a tiny bit of rain in Wadi Rum (of all places), 1 day there was cloudy, 1 day sunny. 1 day in Petra was cloudy, but for the rest of our time, it was sunny. I hope this helps?

WOW! Petra was only number 6. And Jerash number 8. Maybe I shouldn't be so surprised, because it seems Europeans don't have the same kind of interest in historic sites as Americans do, probably because they have such places in their own cities. On the flip side of the coin, I view Wadi Rum as the most overrated, as we have the same kind of landscapes in the American West, but for Europeans who don't have such places at home, I understand why places like Wadi Rum are so fascinating to them.
After viewing extensive content on the country, I see the only places in Jordan that are worth visiting (at least to me), are Petra and Jerash. Aqaba is also cool, but it's too logistically challenging. The problem with Jordan is you'd have to stay in multiple places, which becomes a logistical and financial nightmare. So if you don't like the idea of having to rent a car or constantly switching hotels, I would recommend just going to Tel Aviv and doing a one day or overnight trip from there and only visit the main sites.
As for your comment regarding Italy, to the contrary, the sites in North Africa and the Middle East are actually better preserved than the ones in Italy. A lot of the ruins in Italy, and Europe in general were taken apart by the Byzantines to built churches. I highly recommend visiting Turkey and Tunisia, if you wanna see some great Roman ruins.

Hi Brian. I think you're right about the difference between European's and American's thoughts around Jordan's attractions. I love deserts as they feel really different and foreign (I also really appreciate dry heat!) and I really liked how our experience in Wadi Rum was very different to that of our time in Utah, Arizona etc. But I can imagine if you have deserts just a drive away, then Wadi Rum probably doesn't feel quite as exciting.
I like learning about the history of places, but I am a bit of an adventurer at heart so activities like Wadi Mujib had a slight unfair advantage when it came to my choices. I also think Jordan was one of those places where I went with high expectations of certain things, the Dead Sea, Jerash and Petra being the main ones, and whilst they did live up to my expectations, there were so many other things about Jordan that I hadn't expected like Amman and the locals that came as a surprise and because of the surprise element, I think it's helped push them higher on the list.
I've been to a small number of Roman sites outside of Italy, though none in North Africa and only the ones you've seen in my Jordan series in the Middle East so I'll take your word for it that there are better preserved ones out there - it'll be wonderful if I can make my way through them all. I've been to a handful in Turkey, namely Ephesus, Aphrodisias, Hierapolis at Pamukkale and Pergamon. I felt the Library at Ephesus was more impressive than anything at Jerash, but Jerash felt like it had more than Ephesus... but then and again it's been almost a decade since I last visited and memory has a habit of fading with time!

@@WhenAdventureKnox I appreciate you taking the effort to write such a thorough reply. I didn't know you've been to the southwest. I won't argue that Wadi Rum offers a different kind of experience, but in terms of the geology, I think Arches rivals anything at Wadi Rum. To each their own.
I understand your comment about preferring nature stuff. It seems many Europeans do. I used to prefer nature stuff as a kid. I still like it, but I'm much more into history now. I also think location has a lot to do with it. I expect this kind of landscape in the Middle East, but if it was in a European country, then I'd be all over it, because I don't expect such things there. Same reason I visited the waterfalls in Antalya.
Dead Sea is another one I don't find very interesting, aside from it being the lowest place on earth. The Wadi you guys hiked was cool, but not spectacular like the ones in Oman. I feel the bigger your travel map gets, the harder it gets to find things that really impress you, especially after visiting countries like Turkey and Peru.
You already know my take on Amman, but I do agree 100% that the people are what makes or breaks a place, and incredible people can make you fall in love with a place more than any archaeological site.
No, meant they rival the ones in Italy. Jerash is still amongst the best I've seen, but I agree that there are few Roman sites that rival the library at Ephesus. I didn't actually make it to Ephesus, so I think Turkey deserves a revisit. It's just not possible to cover everything in one trip.
Hierapolis was cool. If you're ever in Antalya, you must visit Perge, Side and Myra. Not as impressive as Jerash or Ephesus, but not very well known. And you must visit the best preserved Roman theater in the world in Aspendos. Or maybe you can plan a trip to Tunisia. I actually haven't visited myself, but I've seen pictures and read good reviews of the sites there.
Yeah, it does. I started filming my travels as a hobby, then I wanted to educate people about the world, back when travel vlogging wasn't really a thing yet. But now I see it's good to have these memories documented and saved somewhere. Because as you say, they fade with time. I am already starting to forget place names, events and things I've seen. :p
If the stars align properly, I will hopefully get back into international travel this year. In the meantime, I am quenching my thirst by watching travel videos. ;)
