IMHO this is the BEST episode of the show. As sad as it was it was iconic and changed everything. Anybody that had any doubts about ER changed their minds after this episode IMO. The cast did such an amazing job in it, they all deserved awards tbh.
I am an ER nurse, to this very day, whenever I walk into an exam room that has a door shut especially if the lights are off, I immediately think of this episode, It always makes me do a brief pause at the door to do a quick survey of the room before I proceed. Funny how this one episode has stuck with me all these years later!
What I remember from the end of the episode before. Carter walks into the room and is stabbed. When he hits the floor he sees Lucy on the floor too. I think she was still slightly conscious. It made me super sad.
This episode was the most devastating for me. I absolutely love watching Kellie Martin ever since Life goes on. She's a phenomenal actress and so underrated. I loved her character on ER and so hated that they killed her off. I can still remember watching it and saying find them find them.
Got into a Twitter conversation with Kellie Martin (who plays Lucy Knight) and she mentioned how unsettling this episode was, even to this day, especially the final scene where they cover her with the shroud. So much blood, the pacing, the heartbreak when Corday and Rocket lose her. Honestly, this is one of the best television episodes ever. Not just this series
That is so cool!!! Kellie did an amazing job acting in this episode!! But my favorite was Romano in this episode. One of the first times he shows some humanity and compassion. The way he kept working trying to save her made me bawl and made my heart ache.
@@Jen-lc5yc oh definitely! I can name several more that gave me crying jags!!! Pratt dying was a top 5 gut wrenching episode. I just rewatched the series again and I did better this time around but still lose it every time I see Frank run up to get the elevator and touch Greg on the shoulder before he is wheeled onto the elevator to go up for organ donation. My stomach is churning typing this! Lol! 😭 Another bad one is when Scott Anspaugh dies and Jeanie Boulet sings their song "Time of Your Life" by Green Day at his funeral. That scene definitely chokes me up. And one more that stands out is the episode Time of Death with Ray Liotta. His acting absolutely brought me to tears at the end. Gah, the tines I cried over that show are immeasurable and I will do it all again! The writing for that show was masterful and the talent...unbelievable! One of the best shows of our generation!

I really like that Luka, Abby, Deb, and Benton were the ones who came to Carter's rescue in this, the people who were either closest to him then or who became very close with him after this.
One great thing about this episode is that we see the different ways the senior doctors cope with this situation: Kovacs knows that he is the one having the emotionally easiest time of it (he doesn't know the victims that well), so he steps up for the hard stuff, reminds people to put their emotions aside. Weaver is focused on the work, and takes out her stress by going straight into the post-mortem mode; what mistakes were made that got us into this mess? Once her urgent work is done, she steps outside for a few seconds, throws up, then goes back in and... continues with that post-game analysis. Corday remains calm, empathetic, and focused. She's the only one who actually devotes some *time* to bedside manner. Her feelings make her a *better* doctor, not a worse one, and she's going through it throughout the whole process. Romano shoves his emotions aside completely, and is focused on being the best fastest surgeon. Only *after* he has lost the patient does he even begin to process his feelings... and he immediately throws a tantrum and denies Lucy's actually dead. And finally, Benton, with his usual attitude and catchphrase: COME ON PEOPLE LET'S MOVE
Grey's Anatomy is absolutly no medical show. People can claim that it is longer than ER but ER ended at the right time when everyone know Grey's Anatomy's quality just felt with the years.
I never gave ER a chance when it originally aired because as a kid growing up, I couldn't stand the sight of blood. For whatever reason, I started watching these clips on UA-cam. The directing and cinematography is absolutely incredible! The camera doesn't cut once from 1:22 to 2:26. It's one continuous take as it moves from character interaction to character interaction. Also, I've since found a TV channel that airs blocks of reruns of ER so I can actually watch full episodes now.
Oh how I loved “ Must See TV” Thursday night. Friends for 30 minutes, several shows all garbage for 30 minutes. Seinfeld for 30 minutes, garbage for 30 minutes. Then ER for an hour. Then the news. I lived in central time zone.
This was such a good show. This episode sticks out in my memory along with when Carter’s baby died and the one when the other doc got his arm chopped off in the helicopter. I hated Lucy the entire time but when she died of a PE I was destroyed. My husband was deployed to Iraq at the time and I guess it just opened a flood gate for emotions I was constantly holding in. I remember my friend whose husband was also deployed calling me and we cried on the phone and felt silly about it but both knew we were crying about a million other things.
How many conversations a month with a stranger do you have where u don’t mention even in the slightest way your husband was in the military? I’m going to say 85 % of the time u mention it. U just can’t help urself. 😐
We had a lot of you asking for this too, so here it is! We've currently got a list of over 50 requests that we're making our way through, so if yours hasn't been uploaded yet, please be patient, we will get to it! You can look forward to some double or triple upload days coming up!
This was my Mom's favorite show, I remember her watching it when I was young. I used to watch it with her as I got older. I am currently watching through the series on Hulu and this episode/storyline was on today. The memories it brought back were unreal!
I remember seeing this episode. My mom was a huge ER fan when I was little and this was like the only episode I actually had seen nearly all the way through.
@@joemckim1183 na I dont think she was ready yet but she was told ahead of time she wasn't permitte that way she could have somthing linned up after ! She loved this roll still talks about hownit affected her personally and how many people come up to her to thos day over it
Lucy knight was great! It broke my heart to see go but even more so when her parents showed up to clear out her locker! 💔💔 they didn’t want her to move to the big city. And this is when Carter’s pain med addiction started... 🤭
Correct me if I'm wrong - Carter sent Lucy to finish up with the schizo ALONE? That bastard stabbed Lucy 4 times, hid back in the corner and when John came in, stabbed him 2ce in the back.
This is the most pain I have had watching TV. Lucy was one of my favourites. The moment when they looked at each other lying on the floor is etched in my memory.
I hated season 13 because that's when they stopped using the regular opening theme and started playing that whatever-it-was music that sucked! 😠 They did bring back the traditional opening for the last episode though so that was good.
This episode had it all It was so heartbreaking in the end. Yet I loved how everyone came together in their attempt to save them both. Dr Romano: the moment he realized Lucy couldn’t be saved...
And I think that there was like a 3 week break between this and the previous episode where carter sees Lucy on the ground after he’s stabbed....if still remember my jaw dropping
this episode scared the shit out of me. it terrifies me so much. just imagine your body waiting there and silently screaming for someone to find you and call for help. seeing this years later does not change anything about how i feel when i see that.
I still get soo emotional over this episode 😢 Lucy wanted to be a doctor sooo bad and she would’ve been great at her job. I grew up watching this show and it’s the best medical drama IMO 🤗💓
I had watched it faithfully for the first 3 years. Lost track during my BSN program and working 12 hour shifts. Then started using my DVR...caught up...but missed a few Romano years. Now retired, I just binged seasons 11 through 15. er to me, was the upper echelon of medical dramas. I never watched another prime time medical show after this and probably never will.
I couldn’t help noticing that Kerry sees the bloody footprint in the hallway but if you rewatch the scene when Carter gets stabbed, the patient is wearing tennis shoes. Just a little continuity error.
I remember this episode. It was the most gripping and compelling TV I'd ever seen. I'm sure I got goosebumps when Corday & Mark were paged. I miss those old ER days, I was so invested in the characters. Can't bear the numerous schmaltzy, derivative spin-offs. It lost me after Mark died in S8. Remember having to wait a week for the next episode, how did we do it 😂
The way Benson came down running always gives me goosebumps, and he would stay devoted to Carter up into the end. That was a brotherhood bond that no one could break
Nope, it was in "Attack of the killer tomatoes". . . . . . . . . . . . . . . J/K But is fun to see older movies and recognize actors before they became well known. 😀
I remember watching this with my parents when I was a kid. It fucked me up for a while. I'm in my thirties and it still haunts me sometimes when I remember it. Hands down one of the best episodes in this show.
I was a kid when this series was airing in prime time on school nights. This series of events is one I’ll never forget from any show. I couldn’t watch as a kid but I watched a lot of them later on. The theme always instantly takes me back to being a kid.
I love poor Deb at 2:13. "Doctor Weaver, can I ask you a completely pointless question for no other purpose than to drive the home audience crazy and build up even more suspense as we linger right in front of the very room where Carter and Knight are slowly bleeding to death as they desperately wait for you to inevitably discover them?"
I'm rewatching ER and I'm just one episode away from this one. I'm not ready, it hurts so much watching Lucy and Carter being hurt. And watching everyone suffering.
1:23-2:27 That is a great long take. Starting outside the room Carter and Lucy are dying in, doubling back and back again, until the reveal of the bloody footprint. Sets up the tension incredibly well.
I miss this show so much, I was a teen when it started and Dr Carter was my favourite. Best medical drama, it set the bar for everything else that came after.
I'm currently watching _E. R._ (yes, I know, I'm "a bit" late to the party 😀) and I absolutely fell in love with it!!! It's such an exciting and interesting show with fantastic characters, great friendships and relationships. 👍 I have only watched some random episodes on TV earlier but have never watched the whole series from the very beginning to the end... My favourite characters have always been Abby, Luka and Carter. Especially Luka - I think Goran Višnjić is the most stunning, most handsome and most attractive actor on this planet. 😎 Greetings from Hungary, by the way. 😉
@@_Lane_ 😁🤓 better late than never! I agree, Goran is hoooooot but I admit I always had a soft spot for the "original" folks, esp Carter and Ross 🥰 One of the best TV shows ever made, to this day.
@@noondarkly When I was a teenager, all of my former (female 😀) classmates used to have a crush on Carter. Well, I had (and still have 😉) a crush on Luka. Don't get me wrong, I really love Carter as a character (he's one of my favourites), I just don't find him attractive at all... (His face is too childish and "boyish" to me.) And sorry but I've never liked Doug Ross (neither George Clooney)! Although I find the scene very touching and romantic when he and Carol reunite (I've just watched that episode 😇). I'm currently watching _Timeless_ , by the way (along with _E. R._ ) and Goran was still very hot in his mid-forties. 😎 Have you watched it? If you haven't you should 'cause it's fantastic and very exciting - but not as fantastic and exciting as _E. R._ , that's not a question. 😄
This shows why Weaver, though hard, was the boss: a personal obligation toward details, process, and duty. If it wasn’t for her, they’d have both bled out and died. Great writing.
Again, MOST people FAIL to RECOGNIZE or COMMENT on just HOW and what A GREAT JOB Luka did ASSESSING AND DELEGATING and......... BRILLIANT. I TOTALLY AGREE. FAR BETTER than grey's anatomy. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARE.
I remember watching this when it first aired and it is impossible to overstate how much my heart wanted to leap out of my chest. I've never wanted to be able to scream at fictional characters on my televisions so badly.
This amazing show would have such a big renaissance if it was re-released on Netflix instead of Hulu. I mean I know it's connected to networks and contracts and all yada yada yada, but still, it sucks
I discovered this show when I was pregnant with my daughter Brooklyn and then a little bit after she was born. The 1st episode I saw was with Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) was guest starring on one before he became a regular and I was like HAVE MERCY IT’S UNCLE JESSE KATSOPOLIS! Now I love this show with my entire being
The first 15 minutes or so when the team is mustering all needs to be put up including Mark and Elizabeth arriving at the DR and weaver trying to get up to speed. Benton chewing out the nurse for having O- blood for the surgery(Carter's blood type)

Kovacs knows that he is the one having the emotionally easiest time of it (he doesn't know the victims that well), so he steps up for the hard stuff, reminds people to put their emotions aside.
I think that was one of the only times Romano had feelings. He grew fond of Lucy.
@@hannahmclaughlin348 He had other feelings-a strong hatred for helicopters…….

This was the best of the best of the best of the best of medical series the ONE!!!!!!! I am 31 and this made my days!!!!!!
Totally agree. I enjoyed this show so much and was so loyal I refused to watch other medical shows for years.
Agreeeeeeeed! The only show I absolutely loved growing up! I'm glad my mom would let me watch every week. I'm the same age as you
Same age! I can't believe my mom let me watch ER. Still get teary-eyed when I hear Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Miss this show
Much better then Grey Anatomy
ER is like General Hospital
Much better
Greys anatomy isnt a medical show. There's hardly any medicine in it
Grey's Anatomy is absolutly no medical show. People can claim that it is longer than ER but ER ended at the right time when everyone know Grey's Anatomy's quality just felt with the years.
If ER is better, why do you feel the need to bring up Grey's Anatomy when it has nothing to do with this video? Insecure much?
@@MalphasMikaelson that's my opinion and yes I can bring up whatever I want. That's my choice and my right. Have a nice day
greys anatomy is a joke not a medical show its a romance sleeve fest with medical scenes thrown in nowhere on the level of e.r
I just started watching ER and this is one of my fav things about the show, the camera work is phenomenal.
Hbo max has every season
"You okay, chief?"
Seeing that sort of interaction between Malucci and Weaver is fascinating.
This was by far the best medical show ever, especially the first 10 years
I wish this show would come back. Many others have tried but none have come close. There’s something about ‘ER’ that is never boring!
This was a fantastic episode. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and when Lucy died my heart sank.
The US Army wasn’t in Iraq when All in the Family originally aired on February 17, 2000. You might be mistaken and meant to say Kuwait.
I have few things I watch when I need a good excuse to cry.
What you are doing for the show is fantastic. There never has been so many scenes uploaded. I’ll take anything, and I love it
Thank you for your uploads! It's so hard to find clips and moments from this legendary series!
thanks a lot ! happy to see it in the original language
Thank you so much!
I'm so thankful for what you are doing to bring this show back to all us fans! 💞💖💘
No other medical series ever produced can beat ER. It is simply the most breathtaking show, and medically realistically enough
This was my Mom's favorite show, I remember her watching it when I was young. I used to watch it with her as I got older. I am currently watching through the series on Hulu and this episode/storyline was on today. The memories it brought back were unreal!
Best scene for me of this episode is Peter running down the hall, to carter
Carter - with a capital C, please! 😉
Yesss
"Is he conscious? IS HE CONSCIOUS?!"
I remember seeing this episode. My mom was a huge ER fan when I was little and this was like the only episode I actually had seen nearly all the way through.
THIS EPISODE. This is hands down my favorite episode of television ever on any show TO THIS DAY.
Kerry made sure to lay that guilt trip on THICK.
She kind of had a point though. I know its Valentines Day but they're still working in a hospital.
You can decorate, but any "partying" should be done in lounges not in the main ER.
She was right. The party was inappropriate.
It's hard to be the heavy. She s right tho
I know who parties at work like that on Valentine’s Day it’s not like it was New Years or st Patrick’s day
Why did youtube recommend me this video? Oh well, gonna watch it then. Such an iconic scene.
Best episode of ER! Love the series, i bought the DVD set and binge watch at times.
Wonderful episode from italian boy live in rome and I m fan of er
The way they just linger near the door.....and you just....yell for Weaver to find them....
This episode hit me the hardest when I first watch it, Lucy was my fav
Shame that we never got to see her as an official doctor out of med school. But I think that Kellie Martin wanted to leave the show.
I remember calling her Lucy on every other thing I saw her in 😆
Very sad and heartbreaking episode 🥺
@@joemckim1183 na I dont think she was ready yet but she was told ahead of time she wasn't permitte that way she could have somthing linned up after ! She loved this roll still talks about hownit affected her personally and how many people come up to her to thos day over it
Romano's last valiant attempt and Elizabeth quietly saying, "Robert...," always gets me
The best medical drama show ever! This arc was the best of the best!
Lucy knight was great! It broke my heart to see go but even more so when her parents showed up to clear out her locker! 💔💔 they didn’t want her to move to the big city. And this is when Carter’s pain med addiction started... 🤭
Victor V And she was the only character besides Corday that could influence Romano. That’s saying something
Watching Romano lose it over Lucy dying 😥😥
Correct me if I'm wrong - Carter sent Lucy to finish up with the schizo ALONE? That bastard stabbed Lucy 4 times, hid back in the corner and when John came in, stabbed him 2ce in the back.
This is the most pain I have had watching TV. Lucy was one of my favourites. The moment when they looked at each other lying on the floor is etched in my memory.
@@rnorth8812 she was my favourite too. I wanted her to end up with carter.
Omg i remember this, I was like 12 and cried for days, Lucy was my favorite character, her death was my last episode of ER. I was done at 12
I’ve been binging ER during the quarantine. First time watched through. On season 13.
I hated season 13 because that's when they stopped using the regular opening theme and started playing that whatever-it-was music that sucked! 😠 They did bring back the traditional opening for the last episode though so that was good.
This episode had it all
It was so heartbreaking in the end. Yet I loved how everyone came together in their attempt to save them both.
Dr Romano: the moment he realized Lucy couldn’t be saved...
I’ve never forgotten my experience watching this at 11 years old. It scarred me for life.
And I think that there was like a 3 week
break between this and the previous episode where carter sees Lucy on the ground after he’s stabbed....if still remember my jaw dropping
violetsareblue06 I was 22 and it traumatized me too.
I think what made me so upset as a kid i still knew that guy was not stable and was angry he hadn't been seen yet by the right person
this episode scared the shit out of me. it terrifies me so much.
just imagine your body waiting there and silently screaming for someone to find you and call for help.
seeing this years later does not change anything about how i feel when i see that.
I still get soo emotional over this episode 😢 Lucy wanted to be a doctor sooo bad and she would’ve been great at her job. I grew up watching this show and it’s the best medical drama IMO 🤗💓
I'll never forgot watching this episode (and the previous one) for the first time. This is television at its very best. What a great show!
Quite simply one of the most chilling and most iconic episodes of ER...it stilll sends shivers down my spine watching it.
I just finished this series on Hulu and it lived up to what I remembered as a child!!! The theme song is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just started watching it from the beginning!!! I am waiting patiently to get to some of my favorite episodes lol
Kami Bauman I’ll warn you that season 10 is such a tear jerker 🥺🥺
Remember having to wait a week for the next episode, how did we do it 😂
This was one of the most compelling and riveting story lines from the ER television series...as well as others. 😊😢❤
I still remember this episode so well.
The way Benson came down running always gives me goosebumps, and he would stay devoted to Carter up into the end. That was a brotherhood bond that no one could break
To think George Clooney got his big break from the ER
Roseanne Barr told producers of her show that he was going to be a star and they laughed at her
Nope, it was in "Attack of the killer tomatoes".

It is the 2nd show called ER he was on. The first was E/R, and it was a half hour comedy.
I remember Clooney from the TV show The Facts of Life before ER
Nah, i ssy he got his big break from the Facts of Life.
Omg the direction in this scene is BRILLIANT! There is *so* much going on, it's absolutely thrilling! Brilliant show.
I remember this I was way too young to have been watching this cried like crazy.
After all these years it still hurts to watch 😢
I remember watching this with my parents when I was a kid. It fucked me up for a while. I'm in my thirties and it still haunts me sometimes when I remember it. Hands down one of the best episodes in this show.
I was a kid when this series was airing in prime time on school nights. This series of events is one I’ll never forget from any show. I couldn’t watch as a kid but I watched a lot of them later on. The theme always instantly takes me back to being a kid.
I love poor Deb at 2:13. "Doctor Weaver, can I ask you a completely pointless question for no other purpose than to drive the home audience crazy and build up even more suspense as we linger right in front of the very room where Carter and Knight are slowly bleeding to death as they desperately wait for you to inevitably discover them?"
hey there

as soon weaver saw the footpeint she realized it was sobrickis fot as he ran from the room after he stabs them
It is called dramatic tension lol
I'm rewatching ER and I'm just one episode away from this one. I'm not ready, it hurts so much watching Lucy and Carter being hurt. And watching everyone suffering.
I love your channel!! Thank you so much
1:23-2:27
That is a great long take.
Greetings from Hungary, by the way. 😉
@@_Lane_ 😁🤓 better late than never! I agree, Goran is hoooooot but I admit I always had a soft spot for the "original" folks, esp Carter and Ross 🥰
One of the best TV shows ever made, to this day.
Binging this on Hulu right now ! I love this show. Best show of it's type ever !
It was events like this that made it epic. Didn’t see storytelling with extremely long arcs like this on television much in those days.
I remember this episode and Goran is SOOOOOO dreamy.
Nah Carter was my favourite character and still is. From his hotness and adorable-ness, when he got stabbed made me CRY.
I miss this so much I may have to start a rewatch all over again ❤
I remember watching this when it first aired and it is impossible to overstate how much my heart wanted to leap out of my chest. I've never wanted to be able to scream at fictional characters on my televisions so badly.
This episode stayed with me all through the years….just so traumatic
This amazing show would have such a big renaissance if it was re-released on Netflix instead of Hulu. I mean I know it's connected to networks and contracts and all yada yada yada, but still, it sucks
If it was re-released on Netflix, Netflix would have done something stupid like cancel it before you could get through all 15 seasons. 🙄
One of the best series I’ve seen
So glad you are posting these. ER was one of the best shows. Ever. I rank it with MASH.
This show is so iconic of the end of the 90's early 2000, I'm so nostalgic watching this again.
One of the best TV shows ever made!! Out of all of them, not just medical ones! Got you in the gut so many times!
hey there

I discovered this show when I was pregnant with my daughter Brooklyn and then a little bit after she was born. The 1st episode I saw was with Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) was guest starring on one before he became a regular and I was like HAVE MERCY IT’S UNCLE JESSE KATSOPOLIS! Now I love this show with my entire being
Damn you missed out Benton bolting downstairs to carters side
The first 15 minutes or so when the team is mustering all needs to be put up including Mark and Elizabeth arriving at the DR and weaver trying to get up to speed. Benton chewing out the nurse for having O- blood for the surgery(Carter's blood type)
