Hey, I implemented your techniques for lateral raises and rear delts and it has made a world of difference. Combined with frequency, my delts are developing better than any other point in my lifting life.
Keep up the good work. Since i ran in to your UA-cam channel my day in the gym is never thesame again and my gains is out of this world. Thank you so much for your invaluable knowledge you share with the world.
Thanks bro!! I ran across this vid by faith I guess. I tried the movement you stated and even without weight I feel them firing. I’m used to doing them the way you illustrated most people do and even though I use up to 110’s I don’t get the pump I should. I will definitely be doing it this way. Thanks 👍🏾
Finally, I started doing my shrugs like this awhile ago once I learned more of how the traps are shaped but most videos just show the generic way to shrug db or bb. Thanks!
I experimented with the dumbbell shrugs a few years ago and wound up doing them like how Seth said and it worked for me. People would ask me why I did them like that but it just felt good. I just saw this and I've been doing them correctly after all. I call them TSA's since it feels like carrying luggage, lol.
I can't wait to try this. This guy has already helped me finally get my quads AND my delts to start growing the way I want them to. *Seth Feroce is the fucking TRUTH.*
This is a fantastic exercise. I've used this for a few years with a slight variation. It is the exact movement except the shoulders are moving in a "J" formation. At the top of the movement your chest should be out, delts squeezed back and up with the bent elbows. Just throwing it out there.
Nice bro i like your body so much all thr best. i just started body building one month before just following your instruction and it really works thanks
I went from 167lbs last 2018 with batteries in pocket to now 205lbs here 2019... I owe a lot of this change to muthfuckin SETH DA Beast ( that’s what I call him ) Thank you brother.... much love
Wow, the elbows slightly bend trick is awesome. I actually never realized this and always did them straight armed. You can definitely feel a much MUCH greater trap contraction if you slightly bend your elbows at the top. This is because it turns out that the traps are not being fully contracted unless you get your elbows bent and behind your body. Try it! Do a straight arm shrug, then at the top push your elbows up and back. You can only get maybe a 10-20 degree backward angle with your upper arms, but man do your traps feel it! I am left wondering if doing this contracts more of the middle part of the traps and not just the upper parts, which is why you feel them more. But, who cares, more trap activation is good trap activation.
you seem like there's a little more then bro science behind your ideals. I understand what your saying...I used to make sure I had a pump, since everyone is different I figured you might need to tweak some stuff to fit your body...I used to get great pumps and grow better faster more whole. I used to bend he elbows a little bit. I'm glad I watched this. thank you.
Enjoyed ur video. Makes sense. I too have had to alternate, or make my own way differ from videos and talk with others. I believe the elbow slight bend is the ticket! Isolates big time! I would also say(in my humble opinion and experience only) that heavy weights is not always the way. Get way more out of good solid high reps than sloppy heavy low reps. Most time when heavy the shoulders want to take over the work load. Excellent video and honesty. U da man!
Seth I never crunch the traps but I do a roll them,so from now on I will do crunch and roll dumbbell and barbell shrugs, thank great tip.I mentioned I like do multiple exercises before I put the weights down,I follow with calf raises and forearm curls,I hit 3 body parts and built endurance before the weights touch the ground, try you might like it is addicting to see how hard you can push the body!
I Just grabbed some light dumbells and did 5 sets of 20 bending my elbows slightly and I am amazing at the difference. I’ve been doing regular old shrugs keeping my arms as straight as possible for years, what a difference in how much more you get out of the movements by bending your arms. And how much more your traps light up! Thanks brother.
man I just spent an hour on nothing but traps and I was doing it straight armed and didn't fill hardly anything just a sore lower back I'm defiantly going to try the bent elbow trick
I am not sure but I think if you bent your arms it goes slightly in your rear delts. You can test it by doing shrughs with your 1 hand and feel your rear delt contracting with your other.
coulthard1984 it's the direction the trap works in, athlean x channel shows about the same movement, same a some huge freak training with Elliot hulse on his channel for traps.
Should I be pulling up with my traps to make the shrugging action? Or just shrugging shoulders to ears? Trying to understand what I should be feeling and intune to
I find working in customer service helps with my traps. I constantly shrug my shoulders!
Jack Haughey 😂😂😂
Best reply ever lol
Haha
🤷🏻♂️
😂😂😂
The elbow thing is huge. I've always felt like I couldn't fully engage traps and that made a big difference. Thanks brother!

Nabil Arifi buff dude? You must be Muslim?
Acc subscribed him for that same reason he's explicit !!
Wowwww game changer. Had a hard time feeling traps being worked but this helps a ton. Thanks!
Scruffy77 hell yes!

Gotta try this. I have them, just need to take to the next level. I was doing exactly what Seth was saying in the beginning. Must try lol
Keep up the good work. Since i ran in to your UA-cam channel my day in the gym is never thesame again and my gains is out of this world. Thank you so much for your invaluable knowledge you share with the world.
That moment you find out you’ve been doing shrugs wrong for years now.
Another great video. He has a direct, no nonsense way of explaining exercises.
These videos give some of the best advice I've ever seen and I've been in the BB game for over 20 years.
Thanks bro!! I ran across this vid by faith I guess. I tried the movement you stated and even without weight I feel them firing. I’m used to doing them the way you illustrated most people do and even though I use up to 110’s I don’t get the pump I should. I will definitely be doing it this way. Thanks 👍🏾
It's a simple movement, dumbbell shrugs. But there are so many keypoints for a DS in this video. Thanks Seth!
I like the way you go in to great detail about what you are doing and why you're doing it. Very good explanation and easy to follow.
Thanks Seth huge help buddy! I wish i watched this sooner
You are a good teacher. I thoroughly enjoy your lessons. Thank you.
If anybody hasn't told you... you are a great teacher! Thanks!
I like the Dumbbells also for traps. The barbell is always a back issue.
Same here. There’s a problem when you have a little fear doing an exercise. I feel I’m taking a chance. Which takes the fun out of it obviously.
Finally, I started doing my shrugs like this awhile ago once I learned more of how the traps are shaped but most videos just show the generic way to shrug db or bb.
Thanks!
Thank you. Very nice instructions and details! It's nice to take advice from someone who obviously knows what they're talking about
This is a great technique, never heard this one before, defo on my to do list👍

This proves that Bro Science works as long as you have the mental capacity to analyze other people and logically break down their movements.

thanks for showing the rep from the front, i get the elbow movement now. and thanks for sharing.
i was doing it wrong all these years but thanx to seth il start doing it right and get that blood pumping into my traps.
I like this guy, he doesn't give off that meathead douchey vibe that a lot of other trainers have. Pretty chill and extremely jacked dude.
If you confident in yourself which he probably is you dont need to give of that vibe to feel good about yourself
Got my sub so fast, wow. Thank you Seth.
Sincerely, a weightlifting novice

Hey Seth, great video. Should the contraction for the shrug be held for a couple seconds?
Society Is Misguided I always thought it should be, why shouldn't it?
Game changer
1:45 sounds good. Gonna try this
SETH......What do you think of James Tiny Vest and his advice to people?
What about the mid and lower fibres of traps? They're feeling left out. 😞
You're a real pro. Thanks
